Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Tract Month

Happy Sunday
A surprise this morning when we woke up to snow.
Just a dusting but what a difference from yesterday when it was
in the high 60's.
❄️
During the month of April at our church we have tract month.
We like to hand out gospel tracts throughout the year but
during the month of April we divide the church into two teams
and have a contest on how many we can hand out.
This year during the month of April our goal is 20,000.
The two teams this year are called
Lamps
and
Lights
Ken and I are on the Lamp team.

Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.

The losing team has to serve the winning team a spaghetti dinner
next month.

This is the gospel tract.
A double click and you can read it.

Give Out The Good News
1. God has told us in His Word
of Jesus' pow'r to save from sin;
We must tell this news to all,
every precious soul to win.

Chorus
Give out the good news to someone today,
tell them of Jesus, the Truth and the Way.
He conquered the grave that all could be saved,
so give out the good news today.

2. Take the news to every land,
for every person must be told;
Never stopping, pressing on,
till they're safe within the fold.

3. When we stand before God's throne
to give account for deeds we've done,
Will there be some there with you,
that you brought to God's dear Son?

Written by Evangelist Byron Foxx in 1995  Click HERE to hear him sing it.
He has been to our church quite a few times through the years.

A Blessed Sunday to you all.

The cows

The temperature was the same as yesterday morning at 50F.
It was cloudy and I felt raindrops after walking about a mile,
but they only lasted a few minutes and it never did rain.

A couple of rabbits hopped past me and also saw the usual deer.
One ran right across the road in front of me.

Walked to town again.
Turned left just before the church and over to the lower
cemetery and walked around it.
Making my way over to the cemetery at the top of the hill I pass
by the town pond.
Fishing season must have opened today because there were people
around the pond fishing.
Of all the places for fishing around here, it always strikes me
odd that they fish in this little tiny pond.
After walking around the second cemetery I went down the road
past the Drane house to the barn to see the cows.
When they saw me coming down the road they lined up along
the fence to get a look at me which made me smile.
I stayed there a few minutes talking to them.
From there I headed over to the post office and mailed off a Netflix.
Then walked around the ball park loop.
A nice sign of spring to see these little snow drops.
I saw Lisa running, a man walking, and Rebeca running.
It has been awhile since I've seen anyone else out in the morning.

Kept walking around town till I had my 6 miles in and then
met Ken over at the old house.
I rode along with him back home.
🌷     🌸     🌼
Made fried bread for breakfast
and then got the rest of my housework done for this week.

Ken was out back working with his tractor.
He's working on the drainage by digging a trench and using
the rocks he digs up to make the trench look like a brook.
Then building on stone bridge over it.
A mess right now but will take pictures eventually.

I finished reading a book and then went outside and worked
on my natural fence for a little while.

The car still hasn't been washed!
Just couldn't get motivated to do it.

That's it for today.
A happy day to you.

Rose - Sometimes the deer are pretty close and they do startle me.  I'm always glad it is a deer and not a bear. 😊 Some times I hear the deer snort at me too.  There are so many of them I see them far and near.  Most of all I like watching them out of the window just roaming around the property, stopping for a bit to eat now and then.  It is nice to them when they are not running away.

Busy day

We had a busy day yesterday and never got any time for blogging.
Only had time for a 4 mile walk which was to town and back.
The sun hadn't come over the mountain yet by the time I was back home.
Had a quick breakfast and then headed out to church
for a day of work doing Fingerprints.

We worked from 9:00 in the morning till 9:00 at night
with breaks for lunch and supper.
People came and went all day long and at one point we had
30 people working.
Ken and I and some others spent the whole day working.
People of all ages came to work and we had such a fun
time.  Lots of laughing and great fellowship.
AND the best part of all is that we hit a record of Roman's books
assembled for one day.
Can't recall the exact number but it was over 9,400!!

The 4 Sale sign went up at the old house yesterday.
Took a picture of it this morning when I walked past.
Sorry for the blurry picture.
Thanks so much for all those who said they would pray for a quick sale.
It as 50 degrees under cloudy skies when I left on my walk this morning.
I'm now leaving at 6:40.

Walked to town, around town, passed the old house, over to the
ball park and around it and back home again.
Felt a few rain drops when a mile from home but not enough to get me wet.

Funny incident with a very little dog. 🐶
I was walking along the road when this little dog comes running down the road
and runs up his driveway.
He got half way up and turned around and start barking at me like crazy.
It just made me laugh.

Rounded the last curve in the road and was thinking I didn't see
any deer this morning when there came 7 of them running across
the field across the street from my house.
🦌
Walked 6 miles

I had planned on washing the car this afternoon but didn't because
of the weather.  You can't believe how dirty our car is.
So dirty it is embarrassing riding around in it!!

We've sure had a busy week and it was nice to spend
today at home just being around the house.

That's it for today.
Hope to be visiting you all later.

A happy day to you.

For Sale

25 degrees F this morning, no wind and sunny once the sun rose.
A great walking day.
Once again I walked to town.
Went straight through town and then walked up and down a few
streets, around the ball park loop and then back home.

Saw lots of deer, a rabbit and LOTS of Robins.

Walked 6 miles
👟     👟
Back once again to the old house right after breakfast.
Ken did a little touch up paint.
I vacuumed the house top to bottom.
Then made the kitchen sink, stove, and refrigerator sparkle.

Took a break for lunch.
Back to work.
Ken worked on cleaning out the shed out back
while I worked outside in the one of the front gardens.
It was a nice sunny day in the 50's.

We met Vicki, who is our new realtor at the house this afternoon.
She was on time!!!
We both like her and were very pleased with all she said.
Vicki said our house looked pristine and was sure
she could get it sold.
The sign goes up tomorrow.
Would sure appreciate any prayers for a quick sale.

 That's it for today.
Have to get supper started and then it is
off to church this evening.

A happy day to you.

Vee - This is how I told the owner of Molly to get her to come when called.
Put Molly on a long rope.
Let her roam around, then call her by just saying, "Molly, Come!"
Then pull her in on the rope and when she is by you make a big deal about her being there and tell her what a good girl she is.  (Some people like to give treats but it is not necessary, dogs like to please you and like praise)
Do this a bunch of times every day and before long she will come to you.
It's worked with the dogs I've owned.

DONE PAINTING!!!

24 degrees F this morning when I left on my walk.
There was no wind and everything felt so nice and fresh after all
the rain we had yesterday.
The sun came out and later it warmed up to 40.
It is now light enough at 6:50 for me to leave the house.
Before you know it I'll be back to leaving at 6:30.

Walked to town again and didn't see the German Shepherd.
Headed to the lower cemetery first to walk around there.
Thought maybe I'd see Molly there again and sure enough she was there.
Now that she knows me she ran over to say hi and ended up walking
around the cemetery with me.
Her owner came out and called her but she ignored him.
When he caught up to us I told him how he could train
Molly to come when he called her.
Wonder if he'll take my advice.
Tried to take Molly's picture but she wouldn't stay still long
enough and every picture was a big blur!

I left them and walked around town and then back home again.
When I get to the end of my driveway,
before walking up it,
I always turn around and take a look at the view.
Don't ever want to take this beautiful place for granted.
Walked 6 miles
🌤     🌤     🌤
Another day at the old house.
We worked from 9:30 to 2:30 and I am so very happy to say
ALL PAINTING IS DONE!!!

Also made the bathrooms sparkle and cleaned all our mess up from painting.
A little more cleaning to do tomorrow and hopefully will be
able to start getting the yard in shape after the winter.
Meeting Vicki, a realtor tomorrow afternoon at 2:00
to see about getting the house back on the market.

I'm not usually a nap taker but when we got home and sat down
in our chairs we both fell asleep and slept for 45 minutes.

I made that Crack Chicken Spaghetti for supper this evening.
Ken liked it as much as I did.
Haven't put the recipe on my other blog yet but will in the next day or so.

 That's been my day.
Looking forward to a relaxing evening.

Hope your day was a happy one.

Vee - I have a walking stick too but don't carry it regularly.  I don't like to carry things when I walk.  It is a good idea to take it along though.

Art and Lisa - I do carry pepper spray with me and had it out and ready to use yesterday!!

Henny - I am surprised to hear you say you are afraid of dogs.  You have such a way with all animals.  A dog would probably just look at you and become friendly. 😃

One friendly, one not so friendly

38 degrees F this morning when I left at 6:55.
It was a misty rainy walk.
Didn't take any pictures.

Walked to town and around the first the cemetery.
There are two houses near the cemetery.
This morning a man was changing a flat tire in the driveway
at one of the houses.
As I was walking down the road I heard him call,
"Molly, came back here."
I stopped and turned to see a dog running towards me.
This was a friendly dog though and just a puppy,
though a very big puppy.
The man came over to get her and told me that she
is a Newfoundland and just 7 months old.
Her fur was so soft and she was such a friendly, lovable dog.
I wanted to take her home with me!!

After petting her for a while I continued my walk and went
around the second cemetery.
Then made my way to the post office and dropped a Netflix
down the mail slot.
Then a quick loop and around town and then headed home.

That's when I met the second dog which was not a very friendly one.
Walking down the main road I saw a dog running down his front yard
toward me.  Luckily the front yard was big and I had time to cross
the street.
Just as the dog (German Shepherd) ran half way into the street
two cars came along and blocked the dog from reaching me.
By this time the owner had come to get the dog.
I said a prayer thanking God for sending those two cars along!

Made my way home without seeing any other dogs!

Found a penny
🐕     🌧     💰
Went to the old house to finish up the painting.
unfortunately we didn't quite finish, we ran out of paint.
But the good news is that I just have 2 more walls to paint and tomorrow
we will be done.
We usually just work till lunch time, but today
we stayed longer.

Since I didn't take any pictures this morning I'm
posting still more of my ceramic planter collection.
Couldn't decide which color I liked best so bought all three of them
A well deserved supper out for us at Brenda's for pizza this evening.
From there we went to Wal-mart to pick up another can of paint.
While there we got some groceries too.

Nice to be home now to relax and enjoy the evening.
A happy day to you.

Morning Sky

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.
🌠     🌠     🌠
I go for my morning walk on Sunday's too but just can't go as
far because I have to get ready for church.
Today I walked 3.5 miles.
The whole sky was beautiful this morning not just looking east.
The above picture was taken looking east.
The bottom picture was taken immediately after the first
but looking northwest.
Blogger friend Tom took those pesky wires out of the picture for me.
Thanks Tom 😃

A Blessed Sunday to you.

Seems like there are a lot more of us who like sugar on our fried bread than I thought!!

Vee - I thought when tops of cakes crack that it meant the oven was too hot. I did have the oven set at 350.
The planters aren't milk glass, just painted ceramic.  I'll be posting more of my collection in the days to come.

Kev - I also have Hummels. My mom collected them and at one time had 150 of them!!  I have a few of hers and also some of the plates.

More planters and baking

We got more snow overnight.
It was 19 degrees and windy this morning.
I put on my nice warm coat and snow sneakers and headed down the
driveway all set to walk but the snow went over the tops of my shoes
to give me cold wet ankles.
The snow plow hadn't been by yet either so I just went back in the house
and walked in the basement.

We took another day off from painting because Ken wanted
to work on his train layout and I certainly wasn't going to object.
We will get that painting done on Monday.

I made us fried bread (French toast) for breakfast.
Ken and probably most everyone else puts syrup on it.
But every since I was a kid at our house we always sprinkled a little
sugar on.  Was wondering if I was the only one who did that?

I did my usual morning stuff around the house.

The snow plow came through around 10:00.
I went out and shoveled the snow off the front steps and in front of
the garage doors.
The sun came out and a little after lunch time it got above freezing
and by the end of the day most of the snow was gone already.

Took another picture of three more of my planter collection.
I've been wanting to make Whoopie Pies for a while now and
this afternoon I made them.
I had a recipe that I shared on my blog years ago and my blogger
friend Vee who lives in Maine gave me her recipe and told me it was
a Maine Original.
It is better than my recipe and I replaced my recipe with Vee's.
They take a while to make and you should have seen the kitchen
when I was through. What a mess I made.
Ken walked by and said, "You sure used a lot of dishes!!!"
BUT it is worth it because they sure do taste good.
Ken and I shared one and I'll have another for my snack tonight.
I'll keep a couple out and freeze the rest.

If you would like the recipe you can find it
HERE
on my recipe blog.

That it for another day.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Spring Snow

29 degrees this morning and windy for my walk with snow flurries.
Walked to town.

As I was just getting to town Ken passed me in the car on the
way to meet Edd for breakfast.
Then they are off to the 'sale' where Ken brought some stuff
yesterday to auction off.
I was glad to see he went in the car and not the truck.
Now he won't be able to bring other junk back home. 😃

I walked straight through town and then down to
the ball park and walked around there.
After a quick loop around town I headed back home.

Didn't take any pictures while walking, nothing caught my eye.
Didn't even get a peek at the sun on this walk.
Not complaining though, at least I got to walk! 😃

Walked 6 miles
🌨     🌨
No painting this morning because Ken went out.
I guess I could have went alone but that's no fun.

I have a collection of little planters and here are three of them.
I've collected them over the years in different antique shops we stop in at.
The duck is one that I gave my gramma with a plant in it for Easter
many years ago when I was a little girl.
Gramma saved it and when I started collecting them she gave it back to me.
I made some weave-it squares for the next baby blanket.
This one is going to be all different colors.
I've gotten 13 done and have 57 more to do.
I'll be making some more later in the evening.

The snow flurries from this morning turned into a more significant
snow fall later in the day.
A look out in back of my house at 2:30 this afternoon.

I'm sure tomorrow it will be gone.
I'd rather have the snow than the rain, at least it is pretty to look at.

  That's it for today.
 A happy day to you.

Cloudy

Two degrees up from freezing this morning and with no wind
it was really nice.  No sun though, just clouds.

Had my usual walk to town.
Walked down past the church and down along the little cemetery
It is just along the road.
Continued on over to the ball park loop and walked around that.

Walked around town and then headed back home.

Saw a ground hog along the side of the road and when he saw me
he ran up the bank and into his hole.
It was just down the road from my house and I've
seem him a few time lately when we go by in the car.

Walked 6 miles
☁️     ☁️     ☁️
Only home for a short time and I left again.
This time in the car.
Driving along I realized that I left my phone sitting on the bookcase
by the front door. It felt so odd not having it with me.
I kept thinking this is the one day that I'm going to NEED it.
But I didn't.
Drove to church for a Blankets for Babies work day.
There were more women than usual there with 16 of us.
The most that has ever shown up at one time.
It was a fun time getting blankets made and visiting with
one another.
Sure beat painting at the old house!!!!

Someone usually brings breakfast but this time Mandy brought
lunch and it was delicious.  She made something called
Crack Chicken Spaghetti.
We all asked for the recipe and she wrote it down
and then went in the office and made copies for us.
When I make it I'll share the recipe on my recipe blog.

Home this afternoon doing very little.
Mostly read.

That's it for today.
A happy day to you.

Almost done!!!

27 degrees, no wind, and once the sun rose it was a mix of sun and clouds.
Walked to the end of my road and turned right and walked up the hill.
Turned around just up ahead at the house on the bend.
Sorry for the poor quality of the photo but it was the only
one I took while walking this morning,
Walked back down past my street and went to the main
road and headed up to town.
Walked to the parking lot at the church where I turned around
and walked home.

I must have seen 30 deer this morning all over the place.
Lots of Robins too and one little rabbit.

Walked 6 miles.
🌤     🌤
 Yes, another morning of painting.
BUT one or two more days and we will be DONE!!!

For lunch we drove down the road and went to Burger King
and had spicy chicken sandwiches.
Then back to the old house.
I cleared out the outside entry way down to the basement.
Lots of old wet leaves there.

Then helped Ken load up the back of the pickup truck with stuff
out of the shed out back.
He is taking it all up to the 'sale' that he goes to with his friend Edd.
It is an auction and they take anything to auction off.
He will take it all up the auction place tomorrow and then on
Friday it will get auctioned off.

Once we got back home,
Ken went outside and moved some more dirt around with his tractor.

I stayed inside and got some inside stuff done.

Left for church early this evening and had a spaghetti supper
there before the church service.
The teens are trying to earn some money for summer camp
and this is one of their fund raisers.
No set amount, everyone just pays what the want too.

Home now and when I get down here will watch a NYPD Blue
episode.  Netflix only has through season 5 and this is the last disc.
Wish they had the rest of the seasons.

That's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

From yesterdays comments it sounds like most of you are like me and not that impressed with mashed cauliflower!!
I DO like cauliflower just not mashed!!
A couple of you mentioned pizza crust made out of cauliflower.  That I won't even try,
after all Ken is Italian!!! 😊

Comment Replies:
Rose - Yes, I like the British mysteries also. Have watched New Tricks and we are watching Foyle's War now from Netflix. I enjoy the British shows and their shows are among my favorites.

NanaDiane - It is a 2 mile walk to town, so I like to walk there, then 2 miles around town, and then back home for the last 2 miles.

John - We don't have cable or satellite TV.  We stream Netflix, get the DVD's and own some of our favorite series and are quite happy just watching that.

Vee - The same was said about my painter grandfather!

Kev - Ken was in the Navy and we lived in Scotland for 4 years (1973 - 1977).
Lived in Kinaird Castle in the laundry room flat.  That was in Brechin.
Then we lived in Montrose and then moved on the base which was in Edzell.
Loved it there!!

Mashed Cauliflower vs Mashed Potatoes

It was 21 degrees when I left the house this morning.
No wind and when the sun finally rose there was a mix
of sun and clouds as I walked.

Don't usually see any cars along the road until I get to
the main road except for the first school bus I see,
# 46 and he always waves to me.
Walked to town again and went around the lower cemetery.
Next over to the post office to mail off a Netflix (Foyle's War)
then through town and back home again.

Strange not to see any deer but did see a couple of woodpeckers
and the geese down by the pond.

I'm coming around the last bend in the road up the hill
here and just about home.
That's my driveway up there on the left.
Walked 6 miles

If you were wondering if we spent another morning painting,
yes we did.
One thing about doing a big job like this, you appreciate the painters
of the world.  You might think painters charge a lot of money for doing a job
but once you do the job yourself you realized they deserve every
penny they get!!
By the way my grandfather (dad's dad) was a painter.
I guess I didn't inherit the painting gene!!

Back at home in the afternoon Ken was outside and burned some things
up in the burn barrel.

I had to stay inside and get some things done in the house.
Was nice to get to spend some time reading too.

For supper we had ham, carrots and instead of mashed potatoes
I made mashed cauliflower.  I had heard that it tasted just like
mashed potatoes and wanted to check it out.

Cooked the cauliflower till it was fork tender.
Then mashed them with 3 Tablespoons butter,
3 Tablespoons sour cream,
a clove of garlic, and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
Added a little salt and pepper.

We didn't care for them and I won't make them again.
I'd much prefer real mashed potatoes.

Well, that's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Victor - Oh yes, we like the British shows.  Some favorites are:
As Time Goes By
The Vicar of Dibley
Faulty Towers
Upstairs Downstairs
Keeping up Appearances
just to name a few!! 😊

Surprise in the mail

It's a bit lighter each morning and I left at 6:55 this morning.
Still kind of dark then but not too dark to walk.
It was 24 degrees F and snowing.
At first it was just a few flurries and then it started coming down
pretty fast.  It was a very light snow with big flakes.

Walked to town and around both cemeteries.
This is the pond down by the Drane house.
This barn is down there too.
The horses are out today.  They are in the back behind fence.
The one I call Star looked up at me when I called to her.
I miss them being able to come up to the fence where I could pet them.
I saw a Red Winged Black bird and a bunch of Robins.
Quite a few geese around down by the down pond too.

On the way back home the snow stopped and some small patches of
blue sky were starting to show.
Took this picture looking into the sun about a mile from home a little after 8:00.
 Walked 6 miles
🌨     🌥
By lunch time it was up to 34 degrees F and all the snow was gone.

More painting today but I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Kitchen, den, dining, living, 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, foyer, and
hall are all DONE.
We are now working on the basement.
There is another bedroom down there,
two hallways, and three other rooms.
A bathroom too but we aren't painting that.
One room is done and the two hallways and one of the rooms has the first coat.

I think by the end of next week we should be finished and then the first
of April should have it back on the market.

A surprise came in the mail for me today. 😃
Ken bought me ALL SEASONS of Last of the Summer Wine.
We have been watching some on Netflix but they only have a few.
It is so nice to have them all and I can watch an episode whenever
I want too.  What a guy!!! 😃❤️
Went to Brenda's for half price pizza this evening.
On the way home we stopped at the Shop and Save and
picked up some milk and Klondikes which were on sale.
There are a lot of different kinds to choose from.
One kind we got to try was with vanilla ice cream and the chocolate
coating was crunchy like a Nestles crunch bar.
Looking forward to having one of them this evening.

That's it for today.

 A happy day to you.

Blessed Assurance

We sing all the old hymns at our church.
This was one of them that we sang this morning.

Blessed Assurance

1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine;
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

chorus

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

2. Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3. Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Lyrics - Fanny Jane Crosby
Music Phoebe Palmer Knapp

I John 5:13
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that YE MAY KNOW that you have eternal life
and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

A Blessed Sunday to you.

Nice while it lasted

There was a light dusting of snow over night but no snow falling this morning.
It was 27 degrees F and VERY WINDY.
A mix of sun and clouds.
Walked to town once again.
This is the main road to town.  Have just walk 1 1/2 miles to this point.
Dropped a Netflix in the slot at the post office and then walked around town.
Over by the edge of the library parking lot I spotted these beginning
daffodils popping up in the snow.
The first ones I've seen this year.
 Then headed back home again.
This the last curve on the hill up to my house.
I live right around the bend.
I forget who but someone asked if I walk up a lot of hills.
YES, my pedometer tells me on my walk today
that it was equivalent to walking up 1,404 stairs.
Walked 6 miles

More painting this morning at the old house!

Not so warm this afternoon like the last couple of days
so we stayed inside today just doing a bit of this and that.
The temperature made it up to 32 F.

Finished the puzzle we've been working on.
We decided that this was the last one for this season.
It was a challenge but not so hard that it was frustrating.
A nice quiet evening at home like most nights.

A happy day to you.

Rose - Not so good to compare yourself to others.  Some will be better, some will be worse, but whatever YOU do is just right for you.  😃
I don't even own a dryer so I'm really looking forward to my clothes line.  I've been just hanging them on a wooden a drying rack.

Vee - There will be two ways to get to the deck.  The garage door and also the French doors where the wooden fence is.  That fence was to satisfy the inspector for when we moved in.  We took that down yesterday.
The laundry basket emoji showed up on the comment but not in the email.

Another nice day

It rained during the night and at 7:00 this morning
when I left it was a bit drizzly but that didn't last long.
Once the sun rose it was a mix of sun and clouds.
50 degrees F and windy.

Walked to town again and this time went right to the cemeteries.
Both are at the edge of town and near each other.
This is the lower one.
And this is the one up the hill.
Walked around the parking lot by the little pond and then
headed back home.
Saw a couple of Killdeers over by the pond.
I always hear them before I see them.  They have just a distinct call.

Walked just shy of 6 miles at 5.8.
🌸     🌸
Another morning of painting at the old house.
Two bedrooms are done.
One bedroom and two bathrooms have the first coat of paint on them.

After I used up my tray of paint I left Ken painting and I went outside.
There are dead flowers left from last summer and started on getting
the gardens ready for spring.
I figured I might as well get started while the weather was nice
because I'm sure we will be getting more snow one of these days.

Back home after lunch and we went out back to look at where
our deck will be.  We will build it once we sell the house and have some money!
My clothes line will be built on posts on the deck.
Here is where the deck will be.
Since the deck will be low Ken can put my clothes line up before we
actually build the deck.
Will post pictures as the work is done.
Then we just walked around outside a while.
When I went back inside Ken got on his tractor and moved some dirt
around in the front.  His idea of fun.  😁  🚜

I planned on getting some housework done but didn't get past
the jigsaw puzzle on the table and ended up doing that instead.
Oh well, that was more fun than housework!

Looking forward to getting some reading done the evening.

A happy day to you.

Spring is in the air

Spring was in the air this morning.
45 degrees F at 7:00 this morning and I watched the sun rise again.
So nice to hear all the birds chirping and I saw numerous Robins
out all along my walk.

Walked to town and went directly to the post office to drop
a Netflix down the slot.  It is 2.6 miles from my door to the PO door.

The ball park is two blocks down the road on the left and I walked
around there.
A woodpecker must have been busy this morning.
Continued my walk around town and then headed back home.
Walked 6 miles
🌷     🌺     🌸
My book club meeting at the library was this morning at 11:30.
Enjoyed discussing the book with everyone and also just
spending time with the women talking about this and that.
Next months book is Educated by Tara Westover.

Ken dropped me off and then went to the house to do some painting.
After the book club meeting was over I walked over to the house.
I didn't do any painting though!

Coming up the last hill to our house on the way home
we noticed one of the little cows had jumped over the cattle grate
and was having a grand old time walking on down the road.
Ken got out of the car and chased it back home while I drove the car.
This afternoon was sunny and warm at 65 degrees F.
I walked up the lane to our driveway that goes up to the cabin.
On the way I stopped by the red gate to see the cows.
That one in the back looks kind of rounded don't you think?
Perhaps a new little calf will be arriving soon.
Ken drove the ATV up to the driveway pulling a little cart and we
cleared the driveway of all the tree branches that fell this winter.
We also cleared the upper driveway that goes up to the Wood Shop.

So nice being able to be outside in warm weather doing some work.
A good feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day.

I had put a meatloaf in the slow cooker this morning so just had to
put some potatoes in the oven to roast and open a jar of
pickled beets for supper.
Quick and easy.

A nice relaxing evening at home tonight.
A happy day to you.

Rose - Yes, I sure could use the help of Lorelei!  😊

PomPom - Walking down country roads your right, I don't find as many pennies.  Perhaps all the coins were buried under the snow!

Adam - Interesting about the yen made out of aluminum.  They must be easy to lose being so light!

Morning skies

Left at 7:00 this morning.
I will be walking earlier an earlier as it gets lighter till once
again I'm leaving at 6:30.
It was 31 degrees and cloudy.
All these sky pictures were taken this morning while I was walking.

Saw all the usual deer as I walked down my street.

I walked to town and around town,
made a loop around the lower cemetery
and then walked back home again.

I've just turned off the main road and headed back to my street
in this picture.  It is one of my favorite spots to walk along.
Just so peaceful and makes me thankful that we found
this place to call home.
Walked 6 miles
Found a penny, that hasn't happened in quite a while! 😊
🌷     🌷
Back to the old house again after breakfast for another morning of painting.
It seems like a nightmare,
you know the kind where you keep doing something over
and over and never getting done.

This afternoon I finished reading
As Bright as Heaven by Susan Meissner.
Tomorrow morning is my book club meeting
so finished it just in time.
It was very good and it should be a good discussion tomorrow.

It was a cloudy day but the temperature went up to 56 degrees F
so I had to go outside for a while this afternoon. 😃

A happy day to you.
