Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

2 day break

Another shot of the pond by the Drane house.

🌻     🌻
A mix of sun and clouds this morning when I walked and the
temperature was 52 degrees.

First walked over to the library and dropped a book down the book slot.
Then continued walking through town and down toward HT.
Back to town and around both cemeteries and the ball park loop.
Didn't see anyone else out walking.
Walked 6.2 miles.
🌻     🌻
We went to church this morning and spent an hour or so getting the room
set up for the Fingerprints Ministry which is tomorrow and Friday.
We are having another one of those two day marathons.
People can come between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM and stay for as little or
as long as they can.   We always have a lot of fun with much laughter and
the most interesting of conversations.
Pastor laughingly says he gets lots of ideas for sermons. 😊
Here is a close up of the staplers on the stands which Ken designed and made.
I mentioned it once before but don't think I've posted a picture of them.
The staplers fold down and the the stands come apart and are very easy
to put up and take down.

We then went to Subway and had subs for lunch,
did some errands that needed to get done and then before coming back home
we took a drive past the new house site just to see if they got started
cutting down the trees but NO nothing was started yet.

Our next two days we will be busy working at church all day
and I won't have any time for blogging so I'll be taking a 2 day break.
I'll be back on Saturday.

We taped this chart up on the wall and a rectangle will be colored in
to show the progress.  Each colored in section will be when one box is
filled with 420 Romans books finished and ready to ship out.
Our goal is to do 20,000 in the next two days.
Hopefully we will get a good turn out and God willing reach our goal.
I'll post the chart again on Saturday to show how much we did.

A happy day to you all.

I'll be back

Another picture from a walk by my parents house.
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
46 degrees this morning.  It was cloudy but took a long my umbrella which was a good thing because soon after I started walking it started to rain and there was a light rain during all of my walk.

I walked around the Farm Loop and a loop around town.  When I walked past the diary farm, the few cows that were in the front field were headed back to the barn all in a line.  Guess they didn't want to be out in the rain.

The two horses Faith and Grace at Farmer Bill's place must not like umbrellas because when they saw me walk by both of them ran away behind the barn.  They usually come up to the fence to see me.

It was nice hearing the rain on my umbrella. : )

Walked 6.2 miles.

We both got new cell phones today.  We got rid of our tracfones and both of us have our first smart phones.   Our son David will be so proud of us. : )

Last week when we were up at my parents house we took them for a ride on one of the nice sunny days.
Stopped to take this picture of the island in a lake.
And thought how neat it would be to live on that island.  I zoomed in for a closer look.
This is another picture I took walking from the cabin we stayed at to my parents house.
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
My Dad went to the doctor today and the news was even worse than we expected.
I will be taking a break from blogging for a while.   Please continue to keep us all in your prayers.
I will try to get around to visit you once in while and I will be back to blogging one day soon.

God Bless you all.

A nice long walk and a break

☁     ☁     ☁     ☁
Up and out of the house at 6:45.  The temperature was 28 degrees with no wind at first but it kicked up a bit later on.  I watched a beautiful sunrise as I walked along but then it turned cloudy.

First walked over to public works to drop off the water bill.  Then walked all over town a couple of times and down past the turn off to Happy Trails and back to town.  Made a loop around the cemeteries and the ball park.  I was happy to get a nice long walk in to make up for the lack of a walk yesterday.

After the 5 mile mark I get that extra energy and could walk all day, but there are things to do and places to go and besides I was getting hungry. : )

Walked 8.1 miles.
Found a penny.
☁     ☁     ☁    ☂
Our son David gave us a gift certificate for Christmas and today we went to Red
Lobster in Uniontown, PA and had a delicious meal on him. : )

While in Uniontown we went to the mall and walked around.  It was the first time we've been to that mall.  While there I got a new purse which I didn't need but got anyway.  I have a thing for purses and when I get done here I'm going to move into it.  Also picked up a couple more jigsaw puzzles which should keep me busy for the rest of the winter!!  The puzzles were so cheap we couldn't pass them up.

Also made a stop at Michale's and I bought a quite a few hanks of Carron Simply Soft yarn which was on sale.  This should be enough for the next bunch of baby blankets that I will be making.
I can't wait to finish the one I'm working on now so I can make another with these beautiful colors in my basket of yarn.

Ken gave me these beautiful blue plates for Christmas and he hung them up on the wall in our bedroom today.  We saw them in an antique store months ago and he went back and bought them for me.  They are pretty big at 18 inches across.
My mom gave me the windmill you see in the picture quite a few years ago.  As the blades turn it plays an old Holland song.  My mom and I were browsing around an antique store one day when she was visiting.  As we walked by I recognized the tune as one my mom sang to me when I was little girl.   She knew I really wanted it but didn't have the money so she bought it for me.  Thanks Mom. : )

I plan on making some weave-it squares, finishing the blue scarf I'm knitting for Krista and if I have time, read.  I have a goal of 50 books to read this year and I should have one read by now.

That's it for today.
A happy day to you.

Guess where I've been

If you've been wondering where I've been, I ended up in the hospital in the emergency room late Sunday night with a fever and abdominal pain.  Thought it might be my appendix but it turned out to be Diverticulitis and they admitted me.
I'm home now and doing better, but the antibiotics are doing a number on me which I have to take for 12 days.
No energy for walking for a while.  I'll be taking a break from blogging as well but will probably be around to visit you once in a while.

I would very much appreciate your prayers. : )

And please a prayer for Ken too who is taking very good care of me.
From Ken
I'll be back when I'm feeling better.
Till then......
Have a happy day.

A little break

This morning was the hottest morning yet for walking. I went on the connect the path route again knowing it would be a bit cooler under all the trees. A mile into my walk and I was soaked. I saw a few people out and they all looked as hot as I felt. I walked passed a yard with a sprinkler going and just walked right in it. Boy did that feel good and I felt lots better after getting cooled off. I probably should have cut my 6 mile walk down a mile or two. I'm sure glad I walk first thing in the morning.
Saturday I got a little bit of a sunburn on my shoulders and my sweating this morning made little water blisters and now my shoulders are peeling.
I'll be staying home today inside where it is nice and cool!

Today is my Sister in Law Kathy's birthday so I want to wish her a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I just got off the phone with her. So nice to have a sister in law who is also a friend. :-)

This will be my last post for a little while. Taking a little break from blogging. Not long, I'll be back in a week or so. I'll still be posting on my photo blog and I'll still be around reading blogs.

Enjoy your days. Be back soon.
Happyone :-)
