Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Last of the sheds

🌧 This morning I had a rainy walk. 🌧
It rained the whole time I was out.
61 degrees
Wore my rain pants and yellow slicker.
Was a bit warm so unzipped my slicker once in a while to get
cool so I also got a bit wet.
Oh well, still a nice walk.

Walked all over town and around both cemeteries and the ball park.
It was just me out there walking this morning.
Didn't even see any animals.
👟  Walked 6 miles 👟

Today is the last picture in the Garden Shed series.
These NEW garden sheds sit in a lot next to the Rolling Pin Bakery
waiting for owners.

🍁    🍁

After lunch we went to church and picked up the church trailer.
Tomorrow we head out to Bedford, Pa to pick up the next pallet
of scriptures (the book of James) to put together on the next
Fingerprint Day.

Didn't do much today except read and I finished reading
The Identicals by Elin Hilerbrand
It was pretty good but predictable.
Probably won't read any more of her books.

That's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one. 🙂

Tuesday

Got starting walking a little later this morning.
Fell back to sleep and didn't get up till 6:40 but was in town
walking by 7:00.
It was 59 degrees, cloudy and quite breezy.
Looked like rain but it stayed dry.
Sunrise 7:04

Another nice walk all around town.

Looks like work is about to begin in the field.
Maybe harvesting the corn though they usually wait till it
is all dried out.

A pasture in the process of being mowed.
Now the little ponies will be easier to spot. 🙂

John, Rebecca, and Joy were all out walking around town too.

Food shopping day at the Shop and Save this morning.
Like to get that over with first thing!

Got more house chores done before lunch.

A few pictures of our deer and baby.

Yesterday a cattle trailer came and took away some of the
cows and bulls from the farm next door.
Today we hear the mothers crying for their little ones.
Such a sad sound.

We worked some more with the rocks on the other side of the driveway.

Read a little this afternoon and knitted too.
Still working on the white blanket.
Had some rain late in the day.

Thanks for stopping by.
Smile and be happy. 🙂

Pumpkin on a fence

60 degrees this morning with a touch of fog around.
A mix of sun and clouds.

There was just enough of a breeze to hear the rustling of the corn.

A most delightful walk around town this morning.

With the old red truck gone now there is an old
red tractor in that spot for sale.

Went down to see the bulls.  Still just the two of them there.

The only person I saw today walking was Margaret.
Pretty quiet for a Monday.

Pancake breakfast today.

Ken went outside this morning and did some more rock
gathering for the other side of the driveway.
I stayed inside getting started on the weekly housework.

After lunch I did some rock work with Ken.

A little sitting time on the porch
and then inside to read before supper.
Monday just zipped by.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you found the happiness in your day. 😀

Saturday

First what to say Thank You for all the kind
comments about the 'Island'.

61 degrees this morning and some fog around as I started walking.
Walked 6 miles and by that time it was sunny out.

Walking down the main road in town, a car slows down
and I hear, Good Morning, I see you every morning.
I had just enough time to say good morning back as she
continued down the road.
I can't count how often that has happened.

Walked around town and around the industrial park.
Don't usually see anyone walking there but today
Rebecca was there.
John was out walking his dog again today.

This old truck has been for sale a while now.
(Ken would love to have it)
It was sitting there today as I walked by.

Walked down the road some more and then turned around
and on the way back a couple of guys were loading the
truck on tow truck.  Guess it was sold.

Only walked around one of the cemeteries today,
ran out of miles.

Looks like another shed is needed for the overflow.

🌼     🌼

I did a few house chores while Ken was busy cleaning
out his wood shop.

After lunch I was outside.
Weeded a little,
transplanted a couple of marigolds,
and walked around a bit.
Then time for a little knitting and reading.

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 🙂

It leads around the rocks

and over the bridge.

Walked all over town and around the industrial park.

When I walked passed the house with the little girl from
yesterday even though I didn't see her I waved
thinking she may be looking out the window. 👋

 John was walking his dog.

A man at the edge of town sells vinyl records once in a while.
Today he was putting out his sign and a couple of arrows he made
pointing the way.

I asked him if he sold very many records and he said, Some.
Asked if he buys them too.
Said no, he has so many that people have given him that he's
just trying to get rid of them.
So I said I guess you don't want mine!!

Put the final touches on the RockScape Island.
We are pleased with how it turned out.
A few final pictures.

Ken painted Happy Trails on an old rusted saw blade.
That was the final thing to add today.

Just a reminder picture of what the 'island' looked like before.

That's going to be it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 🙂

Deb - I can't pick just one favorite hymn because there are just too many that I like.  But yesterday the one I picked was The Old Rugged Cross.  It was my grandmother's (moms mom) favorite.

Shed 16

60 degrees this morning and cloudy skies.
No breeze at all today.
Sunrise 7:00
👟 Walked 6 miles 👟

Had my usual morning walk all around town.
Seems I have a young fan.
Walking past a house a mom and her daughter were getting
in the car to leave.  The little girl about 7, says hi to me with a big smile.
I smile back and say good morning.
The mom says, when her daughter sees me walking past the house
she says,
I love this lady, she walks past our house every morning.
It made me smile - that's the second little girl who has said
something like that.
Perhaps they are young walkers in the making. 🙂

Others walking about town today were
Rebecca
Joy
John

Sorry no walking pictures today.
Nothing caught my eye.

This one is at the cemetery on top of the hill.

Blankets for Baby day at church and left right after breakfast
for a morning of blanket making.
10 of us there today.
The devotional was a bit different this time.
We all picked out one of our favorite hymns, said a little something
about why we liked it and then sang the first verse and chorus
of each song. (We all sang the songs together)
It was really nice!!

Didn't feel like doing any work around the house after
being out all morning so just puttered about the house
doing a bit of this and that.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 😀

MsBB - Sorry you couldn't get to the house link - looks all fine from my end.  The house/store has always been one building.  Store on one side and residence on the other.  Very convenient for the owners!

House/Store For Sale

64 degrees and calm this morning when I walked.
Got to town at 6:30 and it wasn't totally dark but it wasn't light yet either.
So walked under the street lights at first.
Once the sun rose there was a mix of sun and clouds.

Had a nice walk all around town.
I was walking down the road when I heard someone say,
Good Morning, Karen.
Didn't see anyone at first and then saw Kermit coming out his door.
Margret was out walking and so was John.

About to walk around the cemeteries here.
The road to the right leads to the cemetery on top of the hill
and the left road goes to the other cemetery.

Walked 6 miles

This house with store was opened for about a year when we
first moved here.  Then it sat there for years.  All the stuff in the
store sat in there too.
They have been fixing it up the last couple of months and it is now
for sale including the store contents.
(Mostly collectables and some antiques)

Hope it sells and the new people open the store again.
This house/store has been here many, years.
You can see the original store HERE.
It looks pretty much same!!

Made the bread to go with the

The bread and the soup was dinner this evening when
David and Liz came over for another game night.
We played Mexican Train and it was my lucky night.
I won with the low score of 250 - a record for me!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and another thanks
to all those who take the time to comment.🙂

Done for another 6 months

A bit of fog around when I first started walking.
62 degrees and no breeze.
Sun was shining after a few miles.
Sunrise 6:58

Walked all over town up and down all the side streets.

Quite a few people were out today.
Rebecca
Joy
John
Margaret
A new runner
a new dog walker
and of course me.

I've watched the roof on this out building get worse and worse
over the years, and it has finally started collapsing.

🌼    🌼

The 6 months from our last dental cleaning appointment as passed
already so today it was back to the dentist for a cleaning.
Latisha, the hygienist who I really liked retired two cleanings ago.
The new one was okay.
Ken had the other new one Katelyn last time and liked her
so this time I had her too.
She was great and will ask for her every time!!
Anyway all good news from the dentist.
We both have good and healthy teeth and gums.
I only hope these next 6 months go by a little more slowly. 😀

🦷   🦷

From the dentist we went to the Shop and Save for food shopping.
Got everything put away and had lunch and then
 I made some Forgotten Cookies.

A relaxing afternoon after that of reading,
knitting and sitting on the porch.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 🙂

Plain and Simple

It was a cloudy morning walk with a temperature of 65 degrees
and a bit windy at times.

Walked through town and over to the industrial park.
Then back to and around town.
Made a loop around the ball park and
around the cemetery on top of the hill.

Went behind the Drane house to get a look at the farm pond.

Going back down the hill to the where the Jeep is parked.

Very quiet around town this morning.
Didn't see anyone else out walking.
Not even one person did I see to say Good Morning too!

A couple more loads of rocks today and the Island is now finished.
There is one final thing to do but will keep that as a surprise.
Pictures coming soon.

Now we have decided to put rocks on the other side of the driveway too.
No paths here though just big rocks.
It is a smaller area, hilly, and no room for paths.

Took a break in the middle of working and stopped at the library
to pick up a book I had on hold, The Identicals by Elin Hilderbrand.
Dropped off our trash at the dump.
While out we eat our lunch parked by the lake again.

And that's been my day.
Thanks again for stopping by.
A happy day do you. 🙂

Another Garden Shed

When I walked this morning it was 50 degrees
with a bit of fog around, but after a while the sun chased the fog away
and it was a beautiful sunny day.

Walked up the hill to the school and around up there a bit
and then walked back down to town.

Back in town I walked up and down the main road and around
the ball park loop.

John was out walking and Sheila and her daughter were running.

Pretty quiet around town early on a Saturday morning.

Seemed like a good morning for French toast for breakfast.

After breakfast it was outside to gather more rocks
and we did three loads before lunch.

Did one more load after lunch and we are just about finished.
One more load should do it.
Then a few finishing touches and the Island Project will be done!
It actually took less time that I thought.

Rest of the afternoon was a restful one.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope your Saturday was a happy one. 🙂

I just liked how all the colors together looked together.

Victor - Believe me there is not much traffic on that road.  I go for minutes at a time without even seeing a car.  It has very wide shoulders too so it is pretty safe to walk there.  It is more dangerous walking on the curvy country roads.

Morning work, easy afternoon

It was a cloudy morning with a temperature of 58
when I walked.
The sun just started to come through the clouds on the way home.

Walked around town and down 219 a ways again.
Most all the wild flowers are now dead along the side of the road.

Went up Sale Barn Road because there were cows in the pasture up that way.
The white one was mooing with meaning!

I thought these trees were getting a trim because they were under
the wires but all of them have been taken completely down.
What a shame to cut down all those perfectly good trees.
They are working on the other big tree there.

Didn't see anyone else out this morning.
Perhaps they will be walking later in the day.

More rock got collected, and added to the Rockscape Island.
Three more loads.

We did that in the morning and took it easy this afternoon.

Thanks for stopping in.
A happy day to you. 🙂
