Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cloudy

Two degrees up from freezing this morning and with no wind
it was really nice.  No sun though, just clouds.

Had my usual walk to town.
Walked down past the church and down along the little cemetery
It is just along the road.
Continued on over to the ball park loop and walked around that.

Walked around town and then headed back home.

Saw a ground hog along the side of the road and when he saw me
he ran up the bank and into his hole.
It was just down the road from my house and I've
seem him a few time lately when we go by in the car.

Walked 6 miles
☁️     ☁️     ☁️
Only home for a short time and I left again.
This time in the car.
Driving along I realized that I left my phone sitting on the bookcase
by the front door. It felt so odd not having it with me.
I kept thinking this is the one day that I'm going to NEED it.
But I didn't.
Drove to church for a Blankets for Babies work day.
There were more women than usual there with 16 of us.
The most that has ever shown up at one time.
It was a fun time getting blankets made and visiting with
one another.
Sure beat painting at the old house!!!!

Someone usually brings breakfast but this time Mandy brought
lunch and it was delicious.  She made something called
Crack Chicken Spaghetti.
We all asked for the recipe and she wrote it down
and then went in the office and made copies for us.
When I make it I'll share the recipe on my recipe blog.

Home this afternoon doing very little.
Mostly read.

That's it for today.
A happy day to you.

Sounds like a good time doing the blankets. I am just like you if I forget my phone...if I am not far, I will go back and get it.

Groundhogs so often have that tendency to scramble the moment they notice you.

I don't think I've ever seen one.

Oh- Looking forward to that recipe! Sounds like you had a really good day. When I go off without my phone (seldom) I feel like I have left SOMEONE at home...lol xoDiana

I have heard of that Crack Spaghetti before. What a nice time of fellowship you ladies had and all while you are accomplishing productive things. The grass seems to be greening up in spite of the coolish temps. Is tomorrow your last day to paint?

As busy as you usually are today sounds like a much more relaxing day.
A nice break from painting.

Hi Karen- Your there making Baby Blankets with friends which reminds me of my Partner (Chris)- she does do a lot of crochet of 'Towl Toppers' used in the Home Kitchen - Chris makes them for the 'Baptist Care Cente'r to sell for funds at Narellan...hundreds of them with each towel has a different decorative Button..also Chris makes Christmas Present Rosettes from Decorative Ribbon - these are in the hundreds for 'Life-Line' Charity- it is all for a gold coin donation of Christmas Gift wrapping at the Local Mauls for Shoppers...Chris enjoys the activity - especially working from home...I wouldn't have the patience for it. I do like your Photos - you take good pictures. Regards. KEV.

That escort comment sounds like spam. Geez! Did the groundhog see his shadow? Spring is definitely here in RVA.

If you see a ground hog every day does that make it Ground Hog Day?

God bless.

I'm always a bit nervous too if I leave my cell phone behind. Imagine, we used to do all sorts of things without them and now they never leave our side! Did you see a shadow with that ground hog?

It sounds as if your baby blanket day was a huge success and the spaghetti sounds interesting. I'll look forward to the recipe after you have made it.

Snow this morning (Friday). It can't last long though for as warm as it is.

Hi Happyone, It is so neat that you do the Blankets for Babies. I wonder if you have ever noticed in my blog ... I've mentioned it a couple of times, but I volunteer at one of the hospitals downtown. My job is in the NICU where I hold little babies for busy nurses and/or parents. It is such a rewarding thing to do. Our NICU has a storage room full of blankets made by hand and donated to the hospital. I am amazed at the work that people put into making some of those blankets. They are really great.
