Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Sunday

 Happy Sunday

A couple sky pictures from this past week.

Sometimes we can get depressed thinking of the things of this old world.
The darkness of people, the violence, suffering, chaos, and the evil around us.
But we are just passing through this world and if we have Jesus
as our Savior we will be moving on to the next world in heaven.

We must keep our eyes on Jesus and remember He is the light
of the world.

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying,
I am the light of the world:
he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness,
but shall have the light of life.

A Blessed Sunday to all.

Ginny - I had cookbooks on the blue shelf and might put them back on the white but then again I might do something else.  I'll be posting about it. 🙂

Deb - The shelves were by the kitchen.

Blue to White

58 degrees this morning and foggy.
Near the end of my walk the fog left and it was sunny.
My walking shoes were still wet this morning and they are pretty
much worn out so I threw them out and wore a new pair.
Still have 2 more new pair.
I wear out a pair of shoes in about 4 months or so.

These geese were in the pond parking lot and all went
walking in the grass when I got out of the Jeep.

Walked through town and down the main road to the curve
and turned around in the farm driveway and headed back.

On the way back went in to the industrial park and walked around.

Didn't see anyone else out walking but did run into Ruth Ann in her yard
and stopped for a little chat.

Some old farm equipment is for sale.

A tree in a yard had a branch split off with in the wind.

Continued walking around town till I had walked 6 miles.

☁️    🌸    ☀️

This morning we stopped in at the library and I picked up the
2 books that they held for me.
Miss Read books
Celebrations at Thrush Green
A Year at Thrush Green
There is one more book left in the Thrush series.

Next stop the Dollar General and then back home again.

Made Potato Salad for supper to go with grilled hot dogs.

I have a little shelf that I picked out of someones trash
a while ago.  Painted it blue but now I'm tired of the blue so decided
to paint it white.
I felt like Mary from White Cottage painting it because she paints almost
everything white.

While I painted Ken did a few things around outside and then
we sat on the porch for a while.

That's been my day.
A happy Saturday to you.🤗

I tried the grilled jelly sandwich for lunch and it was really good! Will make it again. I had raspberry today.

Dripping Wet

Some comments are still going into the spam folder.
Can't figure out why.
It is not always the same people either.
Just want you to know that I DO see the comments
and publish them once I do.

😮    😮    😮

66 degrees and cloudy when I started walking this morning.
Sunrise - 6:14

Saw a few deer on my way to town.
The paving people were all gathering in the parking lot
when I arrived at town.
Still some more street work to be done.

Walked to the library first to drop off a book.
Then all over town and around both of the cemeteries.

Didn't see anyone else out this morning.

I think this bush is Rose of Sharon.

Walking around the ball park loop I felt the first drops of rain.
At first it was a nice gentle rain and it felt nice and cool.

But that didn't last long and before I knew it,
it was raining down buckets and it was windy and the rain was cold.
I ducked in under cover at the Post Office to take this picture.

From the post office I was less then a half mile from the Jeep
and headed back there.

By the time I got back I was dripping wet like I had jumped
in to the pond.
I couldn't help but laugh at how wet I was.
All the paving people were sitting in their trucks waiting for the rain to stop.
They probably all left because it didn't stop raining.

Didn't quite get all my 6 miles in today.
Walked 5.5

Can you find the one water drop?

☁️    🌧    🙂

A good day to make pancakes for breakfast.

Got my housework finished for the day and then stayed
in the house and just puttered about.
Saw a little bit of the sun late in the afternoon.

Friday - so we made pizza for supper.

Got an email from the library saying they have two books
for me to pick up.

That's all I have for today.
A happy Friday to you. 🤗

Farmer Marvin's Farm

A cloudy morning walk and a temperature of 68 degrees
with a breeze.

Walked through town and over to the laundromat to put
up a church flyer on the bulletin board.

Since I was down that way I went over to the industrial park
and walked around there.

Continued along one of my favorite roads which is between
the industrial park and the main road.
It ends in a cul-de-sac.

Seems to me that there are a lot more Queen Anne's Lace around
this year then usual.  Not only on the side of roads but whole fields of them.

The paving people are back in town.
This time cutting out some bad sections and repaving.

John was out again walking his dog and I saw
Joy just as I was about to get in the Jeep and head home.

Saw deer again as I drove to town.
The buck again and a couple does.

Walked 6 miles

☁️    🥾    🥕

This morning Ken and I took the trailer of the new scriptures
to church and unloaded them.
All set now for next week when we will start putting them together.

A couple of weeks ago Ken ordered some new jigsaw puzzles for winter.
He ordered them now because if you bought 3
you got the 4th one free.
They came in the mail today.
When we have the first snowfall of the season we will start on the puzzles.

The doe and her fawn come by most days yet.
The fawns spots are getting lighter and lighter and she is getting big!

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you.

Ginny - I have another blog where I put recipes.  Karen's Kitchen.

Quite a few people left comments with questions
about the bulls and Farmer Marvin's farm.
He has quite a large farm with many pastures and fields.
He raises all the bulls and cows on his farm.
The ones that have already been sold are the ones he keeps in the barn yard
where I take their pictures.
I think he sells them each year about this time.
Here's a link to the farm and you can read all about his cattle and farm.

Home cleaning

When I got up it was pouring down rain but by the time
I left the house it had stopped.
Temperature was 64 and cloudy with a slight breeze.

Walked all around town, the ball park and the cemetery
on top of the hill.
Didn't made it to the lower cemetery - I ran out of miles.

Went to to see the bulls and was greeted by an empty barn yard.
Must have all been sold.
It probably won't be long before I meet the next bunch of bulls.

Saw Joy and a couple other people walking dogs but they
were all too far away to talk to.

They have resumed working on the drive thru banking
at the bank after not doing anything at all for months and months.
Gravel was getting delivered this morning.
Doesn't seem like they will ever be done!!

Saw a few deer on the my way to town and one of them was a buck.
Looked like a 6 point one.
I don't see many bucks.

Walked 6 miles

We weren't home the last couple of mornings and I didn't do housework
so this morning got right in on the cleaning.

I put some chicken in the slow cooker and covered with
zesty Italian dressing.
Like to cook a bunch of chicken and then use it in recipes
during the week.
Today the chicken went into the
Chicken Quesadillas we had for supper.

Found some time for a little reading and knitting too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
A happy Wednesday to you. 🤗

A walk, a drive, and a birthday

62 degrees this morning and cloudy on my walk.

Walked up and down the road to the left of the main one
and back again.
Around both of the cemeteries and then down the main road.
Over to the ball park and around there.
Then back through town and up Sale Barn a little ways
before turning around and going back to the Jeep.

This picnic area is behind the town pond
and looks like a great spot for a picnic.

Some of the weeds along the side of the roads are dying off,
but thought these had a nice color to them.

The only person I saw out was John walking his dog
but he was far away.

These empty water containers must have just been put here because
it is the first time I've seen them.

Didn't see any deer today but all those rabbits are still around.

Walked 6 miles
Victor - you will be happy to know that I found a penny! 💰

9:15 this morning we left for Bedford, Pa with the trailer of Romans books.
It is only an hour and a half away and most of the time we are driving
on a nice country road. It is really a pleasant drive.

Two other people were there when we arrived to help
unload the boxes of books and to help load the next
bundles of scriptures, boxes of covers, and the boxes the finished
books get pack up in.

On the way home we stopped like we usually do at Wendy's for lunch.
Before coming home we stopped in at Casselmans to pick up a few items.

Decided to bring the trailer back home with us and bring
it back to church later in the week.

A barn and some tall corn

A warmer than usual morning at 70 degrees.
It was cloudy with a strong breeze which kept it cool.
Sunrise 6:11
The sun rises a little later each morning so darker mornings
are coming back again.

This barn is just off the main road across the street from the
church in town.  You can't see it from the road so I walked
up the driveway to get the picture.

Walked up and down the main road in town, then both of the cemeteries.

The corn is way over my head now.

Walked all over town and behind our house when we lived in town.

Saw John out walking his dog.
Roger was out with his dog Andy.
Joy was out there too as well as
a man walking who I see once in a while but don't know him.
Cute to see the cemetery cat's owner walking the dog
down the road with the cat following along.

The last bit of my walk was down to the end of this road
which is where the Jeep is parked.

Walked 6 miles

☁️    🥾    💨

A few rain drops hit the windshield as I was driving home
but it didn't start really raining till just before lunch when
we were driving back home from the church.
Then it came down in buckets!!

Went to church after breakfast to load up the church
trailer with the Romans books.
Later this week we will bring them up to Bedford, Pa.
From there they will be shipped to missionaries to distribute.
This load I think is going to South America.
Will bring back the next pallet of books to be worked on.

Got home just in time for lunch.
Checked out the rain gauge when we got home.
2 more inches of rain.
Wish I could send some to those of you who need it!!

Puttered about this afternoon not doing much of anything.
Nice to sit on the porch and read.

We couldn't decide what to make for dinner.
Nothing sounded good so we just had sandwiches.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. 🤗

Saturday

This morning was a copy of yesterday morning.
64 degrees and foggy at first but then sunny.

Started my walk going around both cemeteries.
Then walked down 219 about a 1/2 mile, turned around and walked back to town.

Not sure what these flowers are (maybe snapdragons?) but they were all along
the edge of the road.

Continued walking through town and then around the ball park.
Saved the ball park till last because it was nice and cool in the shade.

Saw a truck pulling a boat on a trailer through town.
Got a kick out of the name on the back of the boat.
WETTE VETTE

A quiet early morning around town.
Saw some deer, rabbits, and wild turkeys.

Lisa was walking with her husband Dwayne.
They were coming down the hill from the cemetery as I was
getting back to the Jeep.
Dwayne asked me it I had walked around the cemetery yet.
Told him yes.
He smiled and said,
"You were the one who left the message on the mirror."
(mirror is so cars can see around the corner and when
there is mist on the mirror I always leave a little message)
I confessed that it was me.
He said I figured it was you.
That is the third person who has said that to me!
Todays message was
A happy day to you.
: )

Sure was a nice morning for walking.
Walked 6 miles

☀️    🥾    🙂

Didn't really need to do any laundry but the day was just
too nice to pass up a load of wash on the line,
so did a small load.

Changed a couple of things around in the living room.
Moved the church pew to the other side of the room
and a few other little things around.
I'm liking it better - at least for now anyway. 🙂

Finished sewing the latest baby blanket sitting on the porch
and then read.

Late afternoon we had a thunder storm come through.
Not all that much rain but it sure was windy!

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Saturday. 🤗

BBQ Progress

 Another beautiful morning walk.
64 degrees and sunny after a little morning fog.

On my way to town I saw 6 deer and a few rabbits one of which
almost got run over!!

Saw Lisa walking and said good morning to a few other people
around town.

Walked around the industrial park.

Then back to the main road and to the curve in the road
where I went up a farm road a short ways and turned around.

Then it was back to town.

Walked around the ball park and then headed back to the Jeep.
No walking around the cemeteries because I ran out of miles.

Walked 6 miles.

☀️    🥾    🌸

Before going back in the house I walked around the yard.
The cone flowers are blooming again.
The first bunch the deer ate up but these grew back again.

Walking I got a yen for some pancakes so made them for breakfast.

We had to make a trip to the dump to drop off our garbage.
Then stoped in the Shop and Save to see if they had the
bread I like, but they didn't get more in yet.

I made some of those bite size meringue cookies this afternoon.
We have started calling them the Delightful Cookie.

Like most afternoons I sat out on the porch
reading and just sitting there enjoying the scenery.

Have the windows open and a nice breeze is blowing through the house.

It's Friday and lately we've been making pizza on Friday's
so we did that again.
Maybe in the next couple of weeks we can use the outside pizza oven.
Sure hope it turns out because Ken is really putting a
lot of work into it!!

So far.

The front is for the BBQ.
The pizza oven will be above the grill part
and in the back where Ken is standing.
Here he contemplates where the next rock will go.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
And a special thanks to all who take the time to leave a comment.
A happy day to all. 🙂

Blanket Day

A Little warmer this morning at 68 degrees.
A mix of sun and clouds with a nice breeze keeping it cool.
Sunrise 6:07

Saw the usual deer and rabbits on my way to town.

Another walk all around town, both cemeteries and the ball park.
I may walk the same places but always in a different order.
This is around the ball park loop.

The only person I saw this morning was John walking his dog.

Noticed the corn is just started to get some ears growing on it.
Didn't notice the lightning bug till I saw the picture.
You will probably have to enlarge the picture to see it.

The white truck is back on the lot.
Didn't get sold after all.
It is sitting there now with a BIG red bow on it.
One of the salesmen probably brought it home for a day.

Walked 6 miles

🌤    🥾    🌺

Blankets for Babies day at church this morning so left
after breakfast for a work morning and a fun time.
It was Kim's turn to give the devotional
(a volunteer basis)
and then we got busy making blankets
and of course talking which we all do very well.🙂
There were 10 of us there today.
I volunteered to give the devotional next month.

Stopped on the way home to pick up
a couple of things at the Shop and Save.

Just puttered about the house and yard this afternoon.
Ken worked on the BBQ.
It is coming along nicely.
There will also be a pizza oven incorporated in the BBQ as well.
That's the plan anyway.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you.

Wednesday

Just like yesterday morning for walking,
64 degrees and cloudy.

Walked around town, both cemeteries and the ball park loop.
Collage walking around the lower cemetery.

Saw some people but they were all far away so didn't say good
morning to anyone.
At a distance I saw Roger, John, Lisa, Farmer Marvin,
a runner and another walker I didn't know.

Oh by the way the white truck is no longer at the dealers.
I checked everywhere.
I think someone bought it!!

Near the end of my walk the sun started to break through the clouds.

On the drive to town there were three fawns running down the
middle of the road just down from my house.
I drove very slow and at one time even stopped before they
finally ran back into the woods.

Driving home saw another deer saunter across the road when I
was just about home.
Managed to get this picture of her.

Walked 6 miles

Put the ingredients for chili in the slow cooker this morning and
that took care of supper.
Ken was nice and cut up all the vegetables while I browned
the sausage and ground beef.

Got the sheets washed and two other loads of laundry done too.
I bet they dried faster outside than in a dryer.

While I was hanging the wash out the deer and her fawn
were out back with me.  They just looked up and then went
back to eating.
There were also a few wild turkeys there but they all flew away
as soon as I went outside.

Anyone still doing Wordle?
I'm still liking it.
I've only NOT gotten the word a couple of times and today
was one that stumped me.

Read and sewed some weave-it squares.
Just 3 more squares to make for the latest baby blanket.

That's all for today.
A happy day to you. 🤗
Thanks for stopping by.
