Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A barn and some tall corn

A warmer than usual morning at 70 degrees.
It was cloudy with a strong breeze which kept it cool.
Sunrise 6:11
The sun rises a little later each morning so darker mornings
are coming back again.

This barn is just off the main road across the street from the
church in town.  You can't see it from the road so I walked
up the driveway to get the picture.

Walked up and down the main road in town, then both of the cemeteries.

The corn is way over my head now.

Walked all over town and behind our house when we lived in town.

Saw John out walking his dog.
Roger was out with his dog Andy.
Joy was out there too as well as
a man walking who I see once in a while but don't know him.
Cute to see the cemetery cat's owner walking the dog
down the road with the cat following along.

The last bit of my walk was down to the end of this road
which is where the Jeep is parked.

Walked 6 miles

A few rain drops hit the windshield as I was driving home
but it didn't start really raining till just before lunch when
we were driving back home from the church.
Then it came down in buckets!!

Went to church after breakfast to load up the church
trailer with the Romans books.
Later this week we will bring them up to Bedford, Pa.
From there they will be shipped to missionaries to distribute.
This load I think is going to South America.
Will bring back the next pallet of books to be worked on.

Got home just in time for lunch.
Checked out the rain gauge when we got home.
2 more inches of rain.
Wish I could send some to those of you who need it!!

Puttered about this afternoon not doing much of anything.
Nice to sit on the porch and read.

We couldn't decide what to make for dinner.
Nothing sounded good so we just had sandwiches.

Thanks for stopping by.
A happy day to you. ๐Ÿค—

RK - Sorry I forgot to answer your question, if all the rocks Ken is using for the BBQ come from our property.  YES, and we have more than enough for 50 more.  There is no end to rocks that I can see!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love those beautiful flowers along the road where you parked your jeep this morning. It is so great that you have finished another batch of Romans books for missionaries! Yes, we could use some more rain out here, although we did have some downpours last week. I hope we get more. See you again tomorrow!

My family knows I'm a barn lover and often stop to take pictures of them. I like this one! I also like seeing the corn.
We really needed rain but got about 1.5 inches this weekend. :)
How long does it take you to walk your 6 miles every day?

I love that big old barn! We have had some pop up showers lately but not today. Enjoy your evening. Are you having ice cream for dessert?

We just finished sandwiches for dinner, too. The Black eyed susans are beautiful!

Wow! That corn is tall. Must be all the rain followed by sunny days.
Nice flowers in the last picture.

I've never seen a barn that I didn't like. We finally got rain Sunday night.
Sometimes a sandwich for dinner hits the spot.

That image of the man walking his dog with the cat tagging along is cute. I'd love to see a picture of that.

Rain all day here yesterday. It was so nice, calming, and refreshing.

That's a lot of rain. Fun to watch the corn grow since you see it almost daily!

When corn starts growing, it really goes.

Funny about the guy walking the dog with the cat following! In the neighborhood we used to live in a lady would walk her dog and her cat would follow along. The cat would get distracted by something and the lady would stop, say "come on now" and wait for it to catch up. It used to be fun to watch!

We have been getting a lot of rain here too. I like the barn picture...old barns are among my favorite things. Guess it comes from growing up on a dairy farm. We had an old bank barn that I loved.
