Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Friday

This morning I walked under cloudy/misty/smokey skies
and the temperature was 60 degrees.
Sunrise 5:52
Morning Walk Steps 13,197

Started my walk going down toward home a ways, turned around
and back to town.

Then walked up and down the streets on the right side of town
and then back straight through town.
Continued up and around the cemetery on the hill a few times
and over to the big barn.

Next it was around the ball park loop and then back through town
up and down some more side streets.

Sweet Pea blooming along a wall on main street.

Pretty quiet around town today.
Didn't see anyone else.

☁️    🥾    😊

Baked another batch of the chocolate chip cookies for Bible Time.
Thought this would be the last batch but still have one more to bake.

Finished up the last of the weave-it squares for Julys baby blanket.
Will start sewing them together this evening.

Sandi - There is a feeding trough all along the other side of the fence which hay goes into.  The cows can line up and stick their heads through the fence to eat.

Foggy Walk

53 degrees and foggy this morning for walking.
Sunrise 5:52
Morning Walk Steps 13,598

Starting my walk by walking down the road towards home
for a 1/2 mile and then turned around and walked back to town.

Then around both of the cemeteries.

A few bulls in the big barn.

Next I walked over to the ball park and around that loop,
around town, back to the ball park again, more around town
and that completed todays walk.

I saw Eric up at the cemetery,
and another man running.
If others were out didn't see them in the fog.

Nice walking in the fog once in a while where sounds are muffled
things look mysterious.

☁️    🥾    🙂

Finished the rest of the weekly house cleaning today.
Nice feeling!!!

The fog was gone by mid morning and though the sun came
out it was filtered like yesterday but worse.
No blue sky at all.

Noticed one of the tomato plants has one little blossom on it.

There was some spilled gravel on the driveway from when Ken
took bucket loads of it with the tractor.
I finally got around to shoveling and sweeping it off the driveway today.

Then I sat out on the front porch with a cold drink and read.

When Ken came home he was pleasantly surprised that I had
cleaned off the driveway.

Thanks for visiting

Ginny - The house from yesterday does look pink but it is just the lighting.  The house is made of a light color brick.

GrannyM - I keep the names of all the people I meet walking on my phone. 🙂

Fog and mist

59 degrees and a cloudy misty morning for walking.
Sunrise 5:50
Morning Walk Steps 13,752

Walked to the library first and dropped off a DVD.
(Back to the Future)
Then walked up and down all the roads in town,
both cemeteries and the ball park loop.

I met Eric.
Have seen him walking his dog quite a few times and we
stopped and introduced ourselves.
His dog is Sparky.
Eric lives in the house with the neat and tidy garden that
I've been taking pictures of.

Saw John out walking Prim but he was a good distance away.

Walked up the hill to Lisa's house.
She often walks or runs in town and her husband Dwayne walks
sometimes too.
They live in a BIG house on top of the hill.

Walking down the hill here, their house is behind me.

Saw the usual deer and rabbits on my way to town.
A few rabbits in town also.

☁️    🥾    🙂

Busy morning getting some housework done and
baked another batch of the chocolate chipper cookies for
Bible Time which is fast approaching.
Have one more batch to bake.

Didn't see the sun till late afternoon and then it was
filtered due to the wild fires in Canada.

These are some of the wild daisies that have popped up out back.

Red Petunias

The temperature was 62 degrees this morning when I walked
and it was cloudy.
It looked like rain but it held off till I was on the way back
to the Jeep when it finally rained so didn't get all that wet.
Sunrise 5:51
Morning Walk Steps 12,562

First walked to the post office and dropped off a birthday card
for our third grandchild who lives in Hawaii.

Then headed over to the ball park and walked around it a few times.
Continued over to the cemeteries going up and down the
side streets in town on the way.
Then lastly around both cemeteries.
Walked around the loops a few more times than usual because
I didn't want to be too far away from the Jeep incase we had
a thunder storm.

I like it this house which I often walk past.

I was wrong about the church siding being done by today.
Was told that some wood has to be replaced on the steeple and
that has to be done before the rest of the siding can get done.

Didn't see anyone else out walking.

☁️    🌧    🥾    😊

We went to the Shop and Save this week.
Didn't need much but they had ice cream on sale and we were
completely out so had to restock.

It's been a dreary drizzly kind of day
and spent most of it reading and knitting.
Tomorrow will have to be a house work day!!

Walked down to the mailbox at the end of the driveway
during a dry period and took a couple of pictures of the petunia
that I planted not too long ago.
They are coming along nicely and brightened up the day.

Lavender Farm

Today the temperature was 64 degrees when I walked.
It was cloudy which was nice because it kept it cool.
It was sunny by mid morning.
Sunrise 5:50
Morning Walk Steps 13,109

Driving to town I stopped to take a picture of the deer on the
farm next to us.
She was one of 5 who didn't run away.

First walked over to the library and dropped my latest book
down the book drop.
Planned on walking around the industrial park but when I got there
I passed it right up and decided to walk around the Farm Loop instead.

The farm up ahead is Farmer Bill's farm.  He was out and since I hadn't
seen him in a while I stopped for a chat.
He is very friendly and likes to talk.
10 minutes later I continued on my walk.

That is the dairy farm up ahead but I don't know the farmer.
I'm wondering though if they still have cows because
I haven't seen any in the pasture and don't hear them in the barn.
I'll have to ask Farmer Marvin about it.  I'm sure he'll know.

Just passed the school and now headed back to town.

Once I got back in town I walked around the cemetery on top
of the hill a couple of times and that ended my walk.

Didn't see anyone else out walking.

Driving home saw quite a few rabbits (little ones) along the side of the road
to my house and some more deer and a ground hog.

The Farm Loop walk is very peaceful and quiet.

☁️    🥾    😊

Monday is sheet washing day and it was nice and sunny for
drying them on the line.

Ken asked if I'd make some English Muffin Loaves
so did that this morning.

This afternoon we went to Lavender Farm down the road in McHenry.
You can cut your own sprigs of lavender or like we did buy plants.
There is a little shop too that sells soaps, oils, and lavender related items.
We bought two small plants.

When we got home I planted the plants in a couple of pails.
In the middle pail I put purple liatris which I dug up from out front
and put them in front of the bird bath which I moved from the front as well.

Will keep the lavender in the pails for this year and plant it in the ground
next year.  After I planted them read that lavender doesn't do well in pots.

Sunday

🎶 How Can I Fear? 🎶
Ron Hamilton

1. When shadows fall and the night covers all
There are things that my eyes cannot see.
I never fear, for the Saviour is near.
My LORD abides with me!

chorus

How can I fear? Jesus is near!
He ever watches over me!
Worries all cease; He gives me peace.
How can I fear with Jesus?

2. When I'm alone and I face the unknown
And I fear what the future may be,
I can depend on the strength of my Friend!
He walks along with me.

3. Jesus is King! He controls everything!
He is with me each night and each day.
I trust my soul to the Saviour's control;
He drives all fear away!

📖 II Timothy 1:7 📖

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

A Blessed Sunday to all.

Dollar General

60 degrees when I walked this morning under cloudy skies.
Sunrise 5:50
Morning Walk Steps 12,799

A fawn, a little rabbit, and a little ground hog all within a block
from my house ran across the street in front of me on my drive to town.

Walked up and down the main street and the side street to the right.
Then the upper cemetery and over to the big barn.
Continued over to the ball park and around it a couple of times.

A couple of pictures along the way.

These are the first lilies I've seen blooming around town.

Saw the man who drives to town in the white truck running
and another man walking his dog.

The work continues on the church siding.
I predict it will be done by Tuesday.

☁️    🥾    🚶‍♀️    😊

On the way to the Dollar General this morning we first stopped at the library
to pick up a couple of DVD's and the book I'll be reading for
the book club, The Lost Apothecary.
I'm half done with one book and have to read another before I can read it.
The book club doesn't meet till July 13 so have plenty of time.

The Dollar General is now open after the remodeling and
we went there this morning.
Wow, they did a great job. The WHOLE place was redone.
The store is nice and bright.
They added meat, fruits, and vegetables at good prices and everything looks fresh.
Now it will be great if they can keep it stocked!!
We ran into friends, Dave and Joy there too.
 (not Joy my walking friend)
We've spent the last two days with them doing Fingerprints.

David and Liz have friends visiting for the weekend who asked if they
could come down here to the house to have a tour of Ken's trains.
They seemed to really enjoy it!!

Knitted some on the white afghan this afternoon
and got a little reading in too.

We didn't have our home made pizza yesterday so we had it
today for supper.

Another work day

55 degrees this morning and cloudy when I walked.
Sunrise 5:50
Morning Walk Steps - had to keep steps to just over 10,000
because had to be back home by 8:00.

Walked through town and up and down the side streets.
Then it was around the lower cemetery, continued over to the
ball park and around the loop a couple of times.
Lastly around the cemetery on the hill.

Saw Kinsley getting dropped off at day care and got
a big smile and a hug from her.
Shiela was taking her morning run.
The man I see once in a while lately was out walking his dog.
Will have to introduce myself to him one of these days.

Each day more work gets done on the church.

☁️    🥾    🚶‍♀️    😊

We left for church at 8:30 for another Fingerprints Ministry
work day.
Today work was from 9:00 - 1:00.
Another day with a good turn out of people working and
yesterday and today we got over 12,000 Romans books done.
Today I did a little stapling and all of the cutting.
Cutting is my favorite thing to do.

We stopped for lunch on the way home.

I made a lemon cake (box) this afternoon and whipped up
some whipping cream for the icing.
We ran out of ice cream so that will be are snack this evening.

Did a little reading and knitting.

A few rain showers during the day sometimes when the sun was out.
but it was a mostly cloudy day.

Work Day

It was 49 degrees this morning and cloudy for walking.
Pretty windy at times.
Sunrise 5:50
Morning Walk Step 12,579

Saw this dark sky and thought it would rain for sure
but it never did.
(at least not when walking, rained later in the day)

Some pretty blooms between a garage and the road going up to the cemetery.

Walked around both of the cemeteries, then over to the ball
park and walked around that loop a couple of times.

Continued walking all around town up and down all the streets.

Pretty quiet around town now that school is out for the summer.

Didn't see anyone else out except for
the 9 workers putting up the new siding on the church.
They have moved around to the side with the new siding and
taking the old siding down in the front.

☁️    🥾    🚶‍♀️    😊

We left at 11:00 this morning to go to church for a

There were 18 people coming and going throughout the day
and we got over 9,000 Romans books assembled, stapled, cut and boxed up.
I did a little bit of everything today.
We got home at 9:00.
It was a fun and productive day!

My Tomato Plants

This morning was a mix of sun and clouds when I went walking.
58 degrees and a little windy.
Sunrise 5:49
Morning Walk Steps 13,097

Walked straight through town to the Dollar General.
It as been closed for the last couple of weeks because it
is being renovated.

Walked up and down the road behind the DG.

Then walked all around the industrial park.

Continued over to the street behind our old house to take a
look at how that neat and tidy garden was coming along.

Then back to the main road, continued through and out of town
down toward home, turned around and back to the Jeep.

By then the men were working on the siding at the church.
Things usually take a long time to get done but
this job is moving along quite fast.

Didn't see anyone else out walking but did wave to quite a few people
passing by in vehicles.

🌤     🥾    😊

Got a couple of loads of wash done and hung out on the line.

Our two tomato plants out on the back deck are growing nicely.

Ken harvested some more rock so he can finish the wall out back.
After he does that we can finish that section with the gravel.

Before lunch we took a quick trip over to the dump to get
rid of a few bags of trash.

Read a little, did a couple of crossword puzzles, and knitted.
Now that the pillow is done I'd like to get the small white
cotton throw finished.

Got the clothes off the line just in time before it started to rain.
