The Piece of Cake : )

Thank you all so much for all the birthday wishes and the kind words from yesterday.  They are all appreciated.  Thanks my friends! : )

This morning the muggy weather was gone.  The weather was pleasant at 62 degrees, sunny with a cool breeze.  Didn't walk any of my regular routes but just had a random walk here and there.  Happened to see Ken drive down the road on his way to work but he didn't see me.  There he goes in his yellow car.
I stayed on the sidewalks and just walked around the different neighborhoods.  I made a pit stop back at home after a few miles.  Then stayed and watered the flowers in the front yard.  Then I left again to walk the rest of my 6 miles.  That was different.  I've never water flowers in the middle of a walk before.  I saw and heard lots of birds but that was it for wildlife.
I found a dime along the way today.
This month the coins I found on my walk added up to 70 cents.
1 quarter, 3 dimes, 1 nickel, and 10 pennies.
********************
The birthday day cake was super delicious.  As promised here's a picture of the piece I ate.  Look how think that whipped cream is.  Boy was it good.  I don't even want to think how many calories are in that one piece.  : )
 ********************
I did a couple more loads of laundry and hung them out to dry.  The two of us sure accumulate a lot of dirty cloths!!

I've been home today having one of those puttering days around the house.  Had plans to get more work done but got distracted easily and didn't really do much work.

My friend Jackie suggested we all go out for pizza tonight so that will be supper.  How could I possibly say no to pizza!! ?  So another day of eating out.

Hope you're having a day filled with sunshine.

I get to add a year to my age today.

Lots of rain here last night and it left the morning hot and muggy again but not quite as bad as it has been.  The temperature was 65 and it started out cloudy.  A light rain started during my walk but it felt good and cooled me off a bit.  It stopped again by the time I got back home.
I walked around the lake again staying on the paved paths to trying to avoid the mosquitoes.  All my bites from the weekend have stopped itching and are starting to go away.  : )
There were quite a few people out considering the weather.  Mostly runners.
I saw the geese family again.  This time they were all scattered around on the grass.  I counted at least 8 rabbits and spotted a few deer around.
I got all the way home and realized I never did take any pictures!!
I walked 6 miles.
********************
A few of you mentioned how much you like the salad and breads sticks at Olive Garden.  I do too and that is what we had for lunch yesterday.  We had the soup, salad and bread stick lunch special.  It's an all you can eat but I never eat more than one serving anyway.
********************
Good news about the travel trailer!  We bought one!!  It is a left over from 2011 so we got a real good deal on it.  The best thing about it for me is that the bathroom is really a good size and the shower looks great.  We are both  so excited about having it and it will make nights so much better on our land.
I didn't take any pictures but will on Friday when we go back after they clean it all up and they show us how everything works.
What is really nice is that for a very reasonable price they will deliver it right to our land so we don't even have to tow it up there!!
********************
May 30 is the REAL Memorial Day.  I know because I was born on the holiday and today is my birthday.  I don't know why people make such a big deal about age so I'll tell you that I'm 61 today.  I certainly don't feel like it and really do feel half my age. Ken made me a birthday cake yesterday and we will eat a piece of it tonight for our snack.  It has been HARD looking at it in the refrigerator during the day and not being able to eat it.
It is a four layer chocolate fudge cake.  Two layers have raspberry jam between them and one has chocolate pudding and it is all covered with real whipped cream icing.  Ken has made this same cake for me a lot of years and it is delicious.  I'll take another picture tonight of a slice so you can see the inside too.
This morning when I was upstairs my doorbell rang which doesn't happen very often.  It was a very pleasant surprise to find a delivery person standing there with flowers for me.  It was a beautiful arrangement of flowers made to look like a birthday cake with candles and all.  It was a gift from my daughter Debbi. : )  If you are reading this Debbi, Thank you so very much.  I love you. : )
Two cakes for me.  One to eat and one to look at.  I can have my cake and eat it too.  : )

I made some chocolate chip cookies this morning.  I had a hair appointment today at 12:30 and I always bring a batch of cookies for everyone.  I had a dye and a trim today and left having a great hair day.  I had my hair washed by Meagan again.  I'm always glad when she is working on my hair days because she is really the best hair washer ever. My hair dresser is also my friend Cheryl and it was nice catching up with her again.  As most of you know by now I met her through blogging.
Meagan told me that her grandmother reads my blog but I don't know her because she never comments and she doesn't have a blog.  So if your reading this Meagan's grandmother, hello to you. : )

When I got home I had a call from my son David wishing me a happy birthday and we had a nice talk.

I'm looking forward to Ken coming home from work today.  We will be going out to eat tonight to Red Lobster and I'm already hungry.

A happy day to you!

Another geese family

Another hot morning like yesterday.  It was 72 degrees this morning at 6:30 when I left on my walk this morning.  I walked around the lake.  I stayed on paved paths because there would have been more biting bugs in among the greenery.  I walked around the lake.  Once in a while a nice breeze would come along and it felt sooooo good.

There was the usual amount of people out around the lake but I didn't see any fishermen.

A few rabbits were eating grass at the edge of the path.  I saw another family of geese.  So much for that guy telling me I wouldn't be seeing many babies this year because of the greasing of the eggs. I had to zoom in on them to get this picture.  There are seven babies.
As I was leaving the lake I almost stepped on this little snake which I guess is a baby.  He was right in the middle of the path taking in a little sun.  Doesn't he blend in well?
I was pretty hot when I got back home and a nice cold drink of water really hit the spot!  I would have welcome a rain shower this morning. : )  I was wet anyway!
I walked 6 miles.
**********************
It is knitting day and I did plan on going but I just never got around to it.   I did a couple loads of laundry and hung them out to dry and then started reading some blogs.  Looked at the clock and saw that it was already after 10:00 so I just stayed home.

I went out later at 12:00 though to pick up MaryJo and we had lunch at Olive Garden.  Being the nice person that she is, she treated me. : )

There is a RV dealer not too far from us and Ken is going to try to get home on time today and we will be going over there to take a look at what they have in stock.  It is a pretty big dealer so I am really excited about this.

I'd better go and finish things up around the house so I'll be ready if Ken gets home in a little while.

Hope your day is one of those super good days.

A travel trailer!?

We slept in the truck Saturday night and it was a bit too much not sleeping in a bed two nights in a row or being able to take a shower!  Ken spent his working time up on the roof again doing some shingles.  To be a bit safer he built a platform half way up the second floor.  In the picture he is putting the plywood there which was the platform.  I could put the singles out there for him to take up to the roof.
Here is Ken waving hi up on the roof.
It was very slow going because it was so slippery up there and it is a 45 degree angle and quite steep.  He has safety ropes but still it is just so high.  He only made it half way up on one side.  Ken has decided this way just isn't working so great so he is going to come up with some other way to do the shingles. He will build some kind of scaffolding which will take a bit of time so the progress will be slowed down for a while.

Just to clear up some questions a few of you have had.  This is NOT our cabin but just the tractor barn.  The room on the second floor is a storage room and we planned on sleeping there while we build the cabin.  It will not have Heat or AC because it is just shed.  There will not be much on the inside, just a big empty space.  The second floor will have two windows but that hole is not a window.  That is just there for now because it makes things easier moving materials out there.  Hope that clears things up a bit.

We thought that we would be able to get the room done quicker so we could sleep there in comfort but it AIN'T GONNA happen.  There is just way too many bugs and I got quite a few bites.  I think they are mosquito bites and boy do they itch. I must have at least a dozen bites.   Anyway we are seriously thinking about buying a travel trailer and leaving it up there for our 'cabin' while we work.  We will be able to sleep in a bed and take a shower each night.  Then once the cabin is done we can sell it in a couple or three years.  It will take the pressure off of getting things done quickly and we can have some more time to do things other than work.
Too bad all the RV dealers were closed because of the holiday so we couldn't start shopping around.

We left for home and as soon as we got done the mountain down came the rain and we drove home in a thunder and lightening storm with torrential rains.  I took this picture out of the windshield.
We saw some fantastic lightening shows!!!  Like watching fire works.
It was wonderful getting home.  The rain stopped, I took a wonderful shower and washed my hair two times and slept the whole night in a bed and didn't get bit once.  Oh it was heaven!! : )
********************
I got up my usual time and took a walk.  It was a hot sticky morning.  Forgot to look at the thermometer so don't know what the temperature was.  There were lots of people out, mostly runners.  On one of the paths they put a pipe in under the path because the water was washing it away.  I looked off to one side and there was a deer standing there looking at me.  So of course I had to take his picture.
I took a shortened route and only walked 5 miles.  I wanted to get home because Ken was home and I made us waffles for breakfast.
**********************
We've been out all day and just got home a little bit ago and now is it time for supper.  We are making nachos! : )
Still haven't gotten around to visiting blogs and I'm so far behind!  Just been too busy.  I might get some time tonight but will certainly be around tomorrow.

Hope you had a great day.

A walk in the country

Here I am back at MacDonald's again for this post.  We didn't get all that much work done today, but did get a start on the shingles.  It is pretty high up there and I'm really nervous for Ken being up there so high.  I don't go on the roof, it is just too steep for me but I did hand the shingles up to Ken two at a time. He did four rows of shingles and this is what it looked like at the end of the day today.
We started out this morning with breakfast at MacDonald's.  I had the maple oatmeal and fruit and I must say it was very good.  Lots of fruit in the oatmeal.

We did end up spending the whole night up there on the second floor but it did have its problems.  My air mattress kept loosing air and I got bit by a bug that had crawled up my leg.  It was not a pleasant night!!  We are staying another night and this time we are back to sleeping in the truck.  Won't sleep inside again until that room is all enclosed.

Ken started in on the shingles right away after breakfast but then stopped for a while and we had a little fun instead of just working all day.  While Ken played around on his tractor I went for a little walk to town to visit the cemetery.
I've just come to the end of our driveway here.
The gravel road ends here and I turned right and headed down the hill.
At the end of that road I made a left.
 And walked along here
Until I got to the main road.
Just coming into town is a cemetery and I stopped in there to look around and take a few pictures.

Then I turned around and headed back.  Here's a farm I passed along the way.
I walked 5.6 miles on very hilly roads in the hot sun and the cold bottle of water I had when I got back was MOST welcome.

I took more pictures and will be posting some on my other blog during the week.
Haven't had time to visit you all but once I get back home will catch up.
Hope your day was a good one.
I'm signing off now get one of those little hot fudge sundaes at MacDonald's.

The Fire Pit

We are up at our land today and did some more building.  We got the last two sheets of sheathing up on the roof which was quite hard to do.
Then it was time to take a break for lunch.  We made a fire pit and started a fire.
And I cooked a couple of hotdogs.
In the afternoon Ken put up the fascia and the drip edge along one side and this is what the tractor shed looked like when we quit for the day.
I did a little mowing and trimming of trees and got things for Ken when needed.  We drove down to Brenda's and had pizza again for supper which we do most Friday's now.  : )

We just stopped at Lowe's and bought, the tar paper, shingles and nails and tomorrow we hope to get the roof finished.
We are now sitting in the parking lot of a MacDonalds using their free internet so I can post this.  In just a bit we are going to go in and get an ice cream for our snack.  We are planning to sleep in the tractor shed tonight.  At least we will start out there.  We may end up in the truck.

So that's my day.  I'm hoping to post again tomorrow evening here at MacDonalds.
Hope your day was a good one.

A walk to Whipps

I've walked in all kinds of weather this week.  This morning it was fog and the temperature was 64 degrees.  A few miles into my walk a light mist started falling but only lasted a few minutes.  Gradually it started clearing and by the time I was back in the house the sun was out.
I walked along a couple of roads and down this path.
Then took the trail behind the school.
Saw two deer on the other side of the little stream and
one looked back to get his picture taken.
I walked back to the road and made my way over to Whipp's Cemetery.
This is only my second time walking this route but it is one that I really like.  I don't really like to walk here during the week because I have to walk a couple of blocks on a road without sidewalks along a curve.  But it really wasn't bad.  I ran the two blocks and stopped in driveways when cars came by.  So I think I'll be walking this route more often in the future.
New wood chips have been put down and more flowers are around since the last time I walked here.  It is a very nice, lovely peaceful place around the old graves and I enjoy walking along the paths here.

Walking home after getting off the curvy road without sidewalks I go a different way so I end up walking pretty much in one big circle.  I like routes that I don't have to backtrack and with so many paths and trails around here I can pretty much do that.

I wonder where all the people were this morning, I only saw one other person walking!! Maybe they were waiting for better weather.
I walked 6.7 miles.
********************
I'm home again today.  I don't mind being at home though.  I can always find things to do around the house to keep me busy.
Since the sun is out now I'm doing laundry today.   One load is already hanging on the line and the second load is just about done.  I'll be ironing Ken's shirts later on today.
But right now I've still not had breakfast and it's almost 10:00 and I'm hungry so off I go to eat my Cocoa Krispies with strawberries!!! : )

Be happy and enjoy your day.

Dry feet

After two days of rainy morning walks it was nice not to have wet feet and to see the sun shining.
It was 63 degrees and a bit on the humid side.  I walked over to the lake and walked the lower path.  Stayed off the detour trail because it would have been wet and muddy after all the rain.  As I walked, the clouds started coming around and it was cloudy and felt like rain by the time I got back home.
There were the usual amount of people around the lake and I saw quite a few people that I knew.

The deer were well hidden and I didn't see a one of them.  Lots of rabbits around today and the usual birds.  Stopped to watch the heron again when he was standing on the rocks.  I walked down by him and got really close before he flew off.  I could almost reach out and touch him!!
I saw this family of geese alone in the grass down by the water and they all went in the water when I got too near.  This is another family with a one older baby and two smaller ones.
The white egret was around today too.
Being out early in the morning and walking is one of life's little pleasures that makes me appreciate each day.  I can't help but say a Thank You to God for creating such a beautiful world for us.  Makes me wonder, if you don't believe in God, who do you say thank you to?
I walked 6 miles.
********************
I'm home today with nothing on my agenda.  Just the usual house stuff to do.  Who knows what the day will bring but I will find happiness in my day. : )
Hope you find your happiness too.
Have a great day!

My Tuesday

More of the same rainy weather this morning like yesterday so off I went with my umbrella again and this time I walked around the lake.
I didn't see anyone around the first part of the lake but the second half I was surprised to see as many people as I did.  There was one fisherman at the waters edge and another one in a boat.
I watched the heron fly low over the water across the lake.  I saw the geese family again too.  The six little ones are getting pretty big and today I saw three tiny ones mixed in with the six others.  I wonder if they are adopted.  I don't think she could have laid three more eggs already!!!
Some of the birds I saw were blue birds, cardinals, gray cat birds, red winged blackbirds, and robins.
On one side of the lake I saw this box turtle crossing the path.
And on the other side I saw this painted turtle crossing the path.
They just wouldn't pop their heads out of their shells for a better picture!!  I told them they would be on my blog but that didn't seem to impress them.
I enjoyed my walk in the rain. : )
I walked 6 miles.
********************
Left a little after 9:30 this morning and went over to the mill for a morning of knitting with my knitting group of friends.  There were 17 of us there today.  Lots of talk, laughing and we even got a little knitting done! : )  I made a few weave-it squares and sewed some of them together.  For some reason I enjoyed the morning more than usual.

Talking on the phone while driving around here is against the law but you would never know it when you go out driving.  It is so annoying driving near people who are in a world of their own and don't know what is going on around them!!!  I am really surprised that there aren't more accidents caused by these people.  I would love to be a cop for a day and give all the people who are talking on the phone while driving tickets.  It would make my day.  There, that's my rant for the day!!

When I got home I had some lunch and then finished sewing the rest of the weave-it squares I had made together in a row and then onto the part of the blanket already done. Tonight I'll make some more.

Now I'll spend some time here on the computer and then I'll read for a bit before making supper.  Tonight we are having meat loaf and baked potatoes and cauliflower.  When my daughter Debbi was little she would call that a meal.  A meal to her was when you had meat, potato and a vegetable.  Every time I eat a meal like that I think of her! : )

So that's been my day.
A happy day to you.

A rainy walk and a little more work done

It was raining when I got up so took along my umbrella on my walk this morning.  I didn't bother wearing my rain pants because I would have been too warm.  Wore my usual tights and shorts.  It was a steady rain by not a down pour.  The temperature was 64 and there was a slight breeze.  I didn't walk any of my mapped out routes but just walked here and there.
Down some roads.
 And along some paths.
I only saw a couple of people walking dogs along the road.  The paths I just shared with the birds and a few rabbits.
I got a chuckle out of this sign.  Instead of SOLD it read TOO LATE.
I found two pennies and a nickel.
Walked 6.6 miles
********************
We didn't get all that much work done on our tractor barn this Saturday.  The ends of the trusses got trimmed to all the same length on an angle and a few odds and ends got finished up.  It was HARD getting the sheathing up on the second roof.  Straps were put on a sheet with a rope attached.  Ken stood on the trusses, pulled and the sheet slid up the ladder.  Getting the sheet up on the roof wasn't hard but putting it in position without it sliding off was the hard part.

Hard to see the sheet going up the ladder but it is just about up there.
There it goes on the roof.
Once it was up there I helped with ropes by holding it up there while Ken slid it in place.  Every piece we put up had some kind of problem.  We managed to get 4 out of the 6 sheets up there. Three sheets on the side you can't see from the picture below and the fourth one on this side.
I walked up and down the driveway with the clippers and trimmed the over hanging branches along it.  Amazing how much things grow during the week!!  We also did a general straightening up of things and hung up tools inside.
We are both looking forward to having that top roof done!!!  The rest of it should be a lot easier and will go along faster.
********************
I'm staying home today on this rainy day.  Just doing some cleaning and and a bit of this and that.  Not sure yet what I'll end up doing, but will get a little reading in there somewhere.

Enjoy your Monday.

Delightful

I had planned on walking my connect the path route but found my legs took me over to the lake so I walked around the lake. : )  The weather was perfect for walking.  It was 58 degrees, the sun was shining brightly, there was a breeze and the air was crisp and cool.  The word delightful comes to mind.
There were a lot of people there again but not nearly as many as yesterday.
Lots of geese and birds and a few rabbits were spotted around the lake as well, but I didn't see any deer and I didn't see the heron either.

It was pretty quiet this morning and a joy to be outside walking.  What a blessing it is to be able to walk in this beautiful park and along the paths.
I found a lucky penny and walked 6 miles.
********************
I made it outside this morning and planted those petunias I bought the other day.  I planted some in my little front garden and a few on the side and then some in the pot out on the deck around the coleus plant.  I put some hanging petunias in a pot and hung them out back too.  The last plant I planted was a Calibrachoa, which I never heard of, in old copper kettle and put in on the little table on the deck.  It is an annual and likes full sun.  It will have little yellow flowers.
The last thing I did was trim up the shrubs out front. I like to keep them small. Though I don't HAVE to do anything outside because the landscape is included in the condo fees but it is nice to get out there to do a little work when the mood hits me. It was a delightfully sunny day and I enjoyed a couple of hours outside in my little garden with the plants.

It was also a delightful day (there's that word again) for hanging the wash out on the line.  The sheets got washed and another load too.  There is just something about laundry blowing in the breeze that always makes me smile.

Just have some of the laundry to fold and put away yet (already put the clean sheets on the bed) and then my work is done for the day.

I hope you had a delightful day.

A nice sunny day

The rain is gone and this morning and it was sunny, 62 degrees and a bit on the muggy side.  I walked around the lake and stuck to the paved path all the way around because I thought it would be muddy and wet in the woods because of all the rain.
The parking lot was full and there were so many people running, walking, and biking.  I don't think I've ever seen so many people at the lake so early in the morning.  It seemed like there should have been an event of some kind going on.  I guess a nice day after all the rain, everyone just happened to get out this morning.
I think most of the wildlife went into hiding because of all the people.  Didn't see much except for a few rabbits and they hopped back in the undergrowth as soon as I got near them.  A bit too many people for my liking!  But it was great to have a nice sunny day for walking. : )
I walked 6 miles.
********************
I finally got around to buying a flat of petunias at Walmart.  Now I just have to plant them.  I'll probably do that tomorrow.
I made a short shopping list of 20 items and went to the commissary this morning.  I got every thing I needed and got to go to the express lane with my 20 items.  No lines and I was in and out pretty quick.  As most of you know I love strawberry sandwiches and the strawberries were looking mighty good today so I had one for lunch again.

Have a little work to do around the house this afternoon yet and then I'm going to make a zucchini casserole for supper tonight.  Check out the recipe HERE

A rainy walk

The rain was pouring down when I left this morning!  So off I went wearing my rain pants and carrying my umbrella.  It was a warm 64 degrees and it was actually kind of nice walking in the rain. A very pleasing sound listening to the rain through the trees and on my umbrella.
I walked my connect the path route and walking along one of the path I came across this box turtle making his way through the water.  I got a close shot of the turtle and posted it on my photo blog if you care to take a look.  Poor thing looked a bit overwhelmed in the water so I helped him over the the side out of the water.
On another path I heard a rustling in the woods and one, two, three, four, five deer came out of the woods and crossed over to the other side just a little ways from me.
Crossing over one of the footbridges I stopped here to watch the water flow along.  This is usually not more than a trickle. By this time the rain had stopped and you can see my umbrella closed up there leaning on the rail.
I had the sidewalks and paths pretty much to myself because of the rain and only saw two other people out walking.  So many people just don't know what they're missing when they don't walk because it is raining.  Its another world out there! : )
I walked 6.4 miles.
********************
Yesterday we had to restock our ice cream supply.  Looking over all the flavors I spotted a new one that I'd never seen before.  I love Junior Mints and ice cream so I thought wow, this will be my new favorite.
But it wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be.  It was good but not good enough to replace chocolate chip mint!
********************
I left for my Tuesday knitting group about 9:45.  We were meeting back inside at the mill because of the weather.
Driving there I had to pull over two different times for emergency vehicles - a fire truck and then later an ambulance.  I always say a little prayer for these people as they pass by.
I've seen herons over by the lake many, many times but today one flew low just over the tops of the cars driving down the road.  That was really cool.
There were 11 of us at knitting this morning and I worked making some weave-it squares.  One of the women, Joan showed up with a loom and I gave her a lesson on making weave-it squares.  Though she didn't think she was doing that well, I think she did great for just learning.  I had to remind her that I've been making these squares since I was a kid!  I'm sure she will be finishing her own projects in no time. : )

Home for lunch and then I had some routine house stuff to get done.  Hopefully I'll have some time later to get some reading done.  I do enjoy that late afternoon reading time.

Hope you have found your bit of happiness for the day.

The work continues.....

We took off up to our land again early Friday morning.  What a difference just a week made.  All the leaves on the trees have finally come out and everything was lush green and beautiful.  Of course so did all the weeds and undergrowth pop out too.
Both Friday and Saturday were both beautiful sunny days in the 60's and just perfect for working and having fun.
The first thing, Ken put up the ladder/stairs
 and the trap door.
While he was doing that I weed wacked around the building area and part of the driveway.
There were some small trees that were getting in the way of the building so we cut a few of them down. Some of the trees Ken just used the tractor to pull out.  But this one was too big for that so he put a rope around the tree
and I drove the tracker up the hill until the rope was taunt so the tree would fall where we wanted it to.
Then with the chain saw, Ken cut the tree and down it came right where we wanted it to.
If your reading this Dad, I forgot to tell you yesterday that Kenny is still using the chain saw you gave us years ago.  It's still working just fine! : )

We finished putting the top trusses in place and I think that is where we finished Friday.  The two working days have kind of blended into one for me.  We worked till about 6:30, then got changed, and cleaned up as best we could and went to Brenda's for pizza.
We spent the night once again sleeping in the truck.

All the trusses got put up this weekend.  Can you spot me in-between the trusses up there?  I'm going around hammering on metal fasteners on every truss.  I did the top trusses too. I liked doing that because it was a job I could do without any help. : )
The last two trusses went up on the lower back.
Next work time we should be able to get the roof sheathed and the little bump out done on the right side near the front.
One of the last things we did was hang up my wind chimes.
We worked until 6:00 and then went into town to Perkins and had supper and then headed back home.  We feel like we made good progress this week!
It was so nice to have had two beautiful weather days for working. AND I was NEVER cold!!! : )
The first thing I did when I got home was to take a nice shower!!

Had a short walk of 3.5 miles Sunday morning before I had to get ready for church. I called my mom to wish her a Happy Mother's Day while walking.
Every Mother's Day at church there are plants for all the mothers to pick out and take home.  I picked out this Coleus and planted in a pot on the deck.
I hope I don't kill it.  The strawberry plants I planted last week aren't looking too good and I think they will be dead very soon.

My son and daughter both called me after church to wish me a Happy Mother's Day.   I don't often talk to both of them on the same day! : )

So now it is Monday.  I walked around the lake this morning.  It was a warm 62 degrees but it wasn't long after I started out that it started raining.  Sure glad I took along my umbrella today.  Since it was a Monday and a rainy one there were hardly any people around the lake.
I must have counted a dozen red winged black birds.  A rabbit ran across the path in front of me and I saw two other baby rabbits later on.  The white egret was there as well as the heron.
The geese family was down on the grass near the water.  I walked down to get a picture of them and they all hopped in the water and took off.
It nice being out and walking even though it was raining.
I walked 6.2 miles.

I'm planning on being home all day.  Not sure what I'll be doing yet.  I do know that I'll be around later visiting blogs.  I have a lot of them to catch up on having been away from the computer for the last three days.

A happy Monday to you.
