Down some roads.
And along some paths.
I only saw a couple of people walking dogs along the road. The paths I just shared with the birds and a few rabbits.
I got a chuckle out of this sign. Instead of SOLD it read TOO LATE.
I found two pennies and a nickel.
Walked 6.6 miles

We didn't get all that much work done on our tractor barn this Saturday. The ends of the trusses got trimmed to all the same length on an angle and a few odds and ends got finished up. It was HARD getting the sheathing up on the second roof. Straps were put on a sheet with a rope attached. Ken stood on the trusses, pulled and the sheet slid up the ladder. Getting the sheet up on the roof wasn't hard but putting it in position without it sliding off was the hard part.
Hard to see the sheet going up the ladder but it is just about up there. |
There it goes on the roof. |
Once it was up there I helped with ropes by holding it up there while Ken slid it in place. Every piece we put up had some kind of problem. We managed to get 4 out of the 6 sheets up there. Three sheets on the side you can't see from the picture below and the fourth one on this side.
I walked up and down the driveway with the clippers and trimmed the over hanging branches along it. Amazing how much things grow during the week!! We also did a general straightening up of things and hung up tools inside.
We are both looking forward to having that top roof done!!! The rest of it should be a lot easier and will go along faster.

I'm staying home today on this rainy day. Just doing some cleaning and and a bit of this and that. Not sure yet what I'll end up doing, but will get a little reading in there somewhere.
Enjoy your Monday.

All happy people are grateful.
Ungrateful people cannot be happy.
We tend to think that being unhappy
leads people to complain,
but it's truer to say that complaining people
leads to people becoming unhappy.

I'm impressed with the ingenius ways you two get things done. The barn is defintely coming along very well. Everything is so nice and green in your photos.

That looks like major effort. Having watched major efforts here today, I can just imagine how exhausting it was. It'll be the worst of it, though. Oh. Course then you do have the shingles or whatever you'll roof with. Still, it's coming along beautifully and will soon be finished.
Now I'm wondering where our coming rain is coming from. Prior to this, I thought from the west, but it may be from the south.
I'm glad that isn't my job to put on a roof, since I can only make it as far as the second step of the ladder before the panic starts. Have a good day.
The two of you are doing a great job. I know that it is a lot of work but you are getting the job done.
I enjoyed the walk with you today.
I love the sound of the rain on my umbrella when I carry one.
I guess I won't be watering my plants for the next few days.
That does look like quite an undertaking. How nice it will be when it is finished.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
The building looks a lot taller than I imagined - quite a task getting the roof complete - it's looking great. Have a good day.
I can't seem to access your photo blog - when I click on the link I just get lots of print and no pictures - not sure what I am doing wrong.
Amazing, amazing, amazing. That is the only thought that comes to mind.
And I love reading about it!!
See you at knitting.
I saw that The Next Chapter had problems getting into your photo blog. I decided to check myself. I had no problem.
The recent picture is pretty great. Oh heck, they all are!!
We have had alot of rain for about a month but as you now have the rain, here the sun is at last shining! Your building project is coming along very well by the looks of things.
The work may be getting slower, due to height and all.... But what an amazing lot of work, you two have done there!!!
Ohhhhh, new Blog Look!!!!! I love change. I love to be surprised, when I come to a blog. :-)))))

I'm reminded of the way my husband and I managed to lift a heavy TV to the top of the refrigerator! Not so very funny, but we got it done!
Also, he built a shed/barn on our property several years ago. Lifting things to their proper spot was a real task to accomplish.
