Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Going out this year

Not all that much happening here the last couple of days. I've been home cleaning and going through my clothes and getting rid of the things I don't wear. My clothes situation is pretty pathetic. When I hang them up in my new large walk in closet it is going to look like some one moved out and left a few clothes behind. I guess the remedy for that is to go out and buy more clothes. :-)

Boy is it windy today here!! The wind chimes are lovin it. The wind didn't start until after I got back from walking. I washed sheets and hung them outside before it got windy. I had to go outside a few times and unwind them around the line and one time I had to go and find one of the pillow cases. It didn't get far - I found it down by the fence. With all the wind they dried fast and they are already back on the bed.

We are going out to eat with our friends Jackie and Kerry later this evening. Ken and I will have something light because later tonight we are going to Bonnie's New Year's Eve Party!! We usually stay home and are looking forward to going out this year.

Happy New Year to you! I wish you good health, much happiness and a thankful heart!!

Ian

Yesterday we spent some time browsing around at Daedalus Books. You can really get some good bargains there. I like to look around there too because I find some real good books that are written by authors that aren't the most popular. Their books haven't made the best sellers list and I don't think I would come across these books if not for Daedalus. I bought 5 books including a cookbook (soon I'll have that new kitchen to make these new recipes in). Kenny got 3 books and the total for all 8 books was $45!! I would say that is pretty good! There were quite a few people in the store and we all got to know Ian. Ian was a little boy about 6 or 7 there with his mom. He roamed all around the store and every time he did something that his mom didn't want him to do, she would say to him in a LOUD voice Ian come here, Ian come here now, One, Two, Three. Ian would then saunter over to her only to leave again in a couple of minutes and the whole thing would start all over again. It was most annoying. After we paid for our books and started to leave there was Ian playing right in front of the door. When Kenny said Ian, we are leaving now get out of the way. Ian looked up, surprised that Kenny knew his name and I left the store laughing! Today was a Meals on Wheels day for me and I had 6 of my people. All seemed well and happy. My other two people were off today but I dont' know why. The construction work is still being done on Mrs. W's street and I had barely enough room to drive through. My car gets dirty every time I go there. I think I may have to drive the FJ next time. Before coming home I stopped at Cheryl's place of employment and made an appointment for her to cut my hair. My silver/gray roots are pretty long now and something needs to be done. Hey Cheryl - it looks like I'll be your first client Saturday morning. I have an early appointment at 8:00!! :-) I've knitted a few scarves and thought I'd post a picture of them. This is a good place to keep track of what I'm making. I have a lot of the day left so I have time to do my exercise tape, iron, read and who knows what else. Enjoy this Monday (a short week again) and make it a Happy One.

The Last Verses

Since it's near the end of the year and the last Sunday of the month, I thought I would post the last few verses of the Bible. Revelation 22:17-21
"The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.' Let each one who hears them say the same, 'Come.' Let the thirsty one come - anyone who wants to; let him come and drink the Water of Life without charge. And I solemnly declare to everyone who reads this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God shall add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone subtracts any part of these prophecies, God shall take away his share in the Tree of Life, and in the Holy City just described. He who has said all these things declares; Yes, I am coming soon!" Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all Amen! Every time I read these last verses I think whoa, those are some sobering words. Have a blessed Sunday and remember God does love you! :-)

What are the odds?

Our Christmas was nice. Debbi and the kids came over and spent some time with us. Debbi made us some Pumpkin Cookies that are sooooo good and I put out the cookies and cakes that I made Christmas Eve and we all ate way too many cookies. Today I promised myself that I would not any eat during the day but save them for my evening snack.
The last present that I was working on Christmas Eve was a bookmark I made for Kenny.
I finished it up just before he came home. As with all cross stitch projects that I make it takes me much longer than I think. :-)
Late yesterday afternoon we wanted to get out of the house for a bit so naturally we took a drive past the townhouse. We just couldn't believe that the painters were working on Christmas Day!! They were painting the front doors. All were painted except ours but I'm sure it's red now! Some of you may remember me mentioning the "Homeless Man" who isn't homeless who lives in town and panhandles down on the corner of Route 1. Yesterday leaving the townhouse just a couple of blocks away at the red light, who do we see but our "Homeless Man" standing there panhandling!! Of all the other corners to pick what are the odds of him picking a new corner 12 miles away right by our new house? Crazy huh? His little blue car was parked up the road - so now I call him the "Commuting Homeless Man." Today I spent a part of the day reading and finishing Alexander McCall Smith's latest book in the 44 Street Scotland Series called The World According to Bertie. This is the 4th in the series and it was as good as all the rest. Bertie, a 6 year old little boy is my favorite character in this series. He has quite a mother to put up with. This is one part that had me laughing. "I think you should spend more time with Olive," said Irene. "She's a very nice girl, and I know that you like her." Bertie shook his head. "I don't like Olive, Mummy. I hate her." "Now, Bertie!" scolded Irene. "That's simply not true." Bertie sighed. When he told the truth, as he had just done, he was accused of lying. But if he lied, and said that he liked Olive, his mother would nod her approval. The world, he thought, was a very confusing place. Another Bertie thought. I think the world is nice. I think that it is very sad that there are people who are unkind to one another. I also think that it is sad that there are people who want to kill other people just because they do not like them. I think that we should share things, and not be selfish. The book was due at the library today so when Kenny came home from work we dropped it off and then went out to eat at Five Guys. We got the movie Click from Netflix to watch for tonight and I'm going to start a quick and easy knitting project that I should finish up pretty quick. I hope you are all enjoying your Friday. :-)

Happy Birthday

Merry Christmas Everyone!!
Happy Birthday Jesus!
He did not use a silvery box
Or paper green and red;
God laid His Christmas gift to me
Within a manger bed. —Prentice

Have a wonderful day.

In case you're are wondering I DID take the day off from walking. :-)

Baking day and a happy surprise

Today when I walked it was cloudy, but the temperature was 36 degrees and after the last few days it felt almost balmy!! After walking a little over 6 miles I came back home and got a package that I had to mail and walked back to the post office. I had to go back out because the post office doesn't open until 8:30. I was there at opening and there was only one other person there. I spent the rest of the day at home making one last Christmas present and baking. I baked He Man Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies but I put in raisins instead of the chocolate chips. I think I like them better with the raisins because I think oatmeal cookies should have raisins in them. They are very good with the chips too though.
Next up was the Yum Yum Cake. It is my grandmother's recipe (mom's mom) and the only recipe I have of hers. The cake turned out perfectly and tastes "yummy" just like the name says. I took this picture of the cake and added the recipe to Happyone'sCookbook.
Last up was the Pfeffernuesse Cookies. They are another one of my favorites and I make them every Christmas. I had such a nice surprise today. :-) I got a Christmas card from my cousin Patty (our moms are sisters). We spent a lot of time together when we were kids and I haven't heard from her in years and years and we haven't seen each other since we were kids. Here is a picture from 1962. That's Patty on the right and me on the left holding my dog Cookie. Linda if you are reading this please tell Patty how much it meant to me to receive the Christmas card from her. :-)
I'll end today's post with a picture of the Christmas card that I made and mailed out this year and a wish that you have a Very Merry Christmas!

Nearly finished

Another COLD walking day but at least there was no wind today and once again the sun was shining. I didn't see anyone out today, not even Linda.

We drove by the townhouse late yesterday afternoon and was happy to see the front steps finished with railing and all. The sidewalk in front is in but still has the plastic over it as you can see. The door will be painted dark red like the shutters.
We saw Nate walking around and he told us that the carpet was being put right then. He asked if we wanted to take a look but we said no. We can wait till the final walk through on January 5th, which is less than two weeks now!!

We drove by this house last night to take a look at the lights which we do every year. It looks okay in the pictures but it is so much better to see in person. Every year something new is added.
Today I made a run to the commissary - surprisingly not many people there. I was in an out pretty quick. I just made a 20 items list. I didn't want to get a lot of stuff because we will just have to move everything to the new house soon. We will just let things run low and then stock up again after the move.
I have green commissary bags that I bring with me and one of them is insulated for the perishables but the bagger today just didn't get it. He put everything but the perishables in the insulated bag. Before I left I had to repack everything. I only had my 20 items so it wasn't that bad but I did feel like going and getting the tip I left for him back. I really wouldn't do that but I did feel like it!

From the base I went to the Meals on Wheels kitchen to give Rhonda (Kitchen Boss) :-) a card and a loaf of pumpkin bread. She was already eating a piece as I left!! Back home to unpack groceries, eat some lunch and then I went to give a few neighbors their Christmas goodies. A couple of people weren't home so I'll go back later or tomorrow. I still have a couple of things I'm making that I'll finish later today and early tomorrow and one more batch of baking to do. I don't feel rushed though and have plenty of time to finish. We are having a very quiet stressless Christmas as I like to keep things simple.

It's just after 3 and I'm off to read a some blogs and then work on one of those gifts until Kenny comes home from work.
Then it's out to eat and then home for a cozy evening.
I hope it has been a Happy Tuesday for you!

Baby Jesus

While we rush about this Christmas season let us take some quiet time and remember Jesus. After all He is the Reason for the Season.
Luke 2:10 & 11 And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Have a blessed Sunday. God loves you.

While on the cell phone

Yesterday it rained all day long and today is a cloudy day but at least the rain has stopped. I saw a small accident involving one lone car this morning while walking. I heard a strange sound, looked around and saw that a half a block away where I just walked a mere 20 seconds ago some woman forgot to turn the steering while going around the curve in the road and ran up over the sidewalk. She wasn't hurt and got out of her car still talking on her cell phone!!! This was 7 in the morning with no other cars in sight.

I just finished baking some chocolate chip cookies that I'm bringing to Cheryl's Christmas Party later on. House smells good!!
We ate a late lunch and will skip supper so we will be nice and hungry for the party.
It should be fun and we both are really looking forward to it.

A Happy Saturday to you all.

SkyWatch Friday

Another week with lots of gray clouds and rain, but I carry my camera with me all the time so was able to get a couple of sunrises on my morning walks and a sunset out in the car one evening. Sunrise through the trees at the park. Sunrise behind the school. Sunset while driving along. Ken was doing the driving. Do you like looking a sky pictures or maybe want to post one of your own? You can make it happen by clicking on the photo below. Happy Skywatching!

The post trim walk through

This morning we met Nate at the town house and had what he called a Post Trim Walk Through. Everything is just about done now. The tile by the front door and bathrooms are in though covered to protect them from the workers. Kitchen cabinets are in and the counter tops will be done tomorrow. The kitchen floor and rugs will be installed next week. Washer and dryer are in and the stove is sitting in the kitchen. It was so exciting just walking around in the house. Everything is fine and looking good. After the walk through Nate left and said for us to stay as long as we liked. It was hard to leave but Ken had to get back to work. Here are some of the many pictures I took this morning.
Looking up at the loft from master bedroom.
Standing in master bedroom. Door to the left is the bathroom. Looking down the hall to the two other bedrooms.Ken standing in the living room. We love that transom window above the front door. :-)
Kitchen desk where I will have my computer. You can picture me sitting there posting to my blog!
Pantry
Me standing in my almost finished kitchen. Just think of all the chocolate chip cookies I will be making here one day!! You can also see how much of my gray hair has grown in!
Ken standing in the garage (home to the Corvettes) checking something out.
The final walk through is January 5th and closing is the next day on January 6th. Oh Happy Day.

A visit with Lin

No rain this morning but it was cloudy and damp. These two streams run through one of the neighborhoods where I walk and are usually just a trickle but with all the rain they are now full.When I got back near home I ran into Lin and walked around the block with her. We made plans to meet at her house at 1:00. I did a few things around the house in the morning and in the afternoon walked over to Lin's house. I gave her a mini pumpkin bread loaf, a knitted dish cloth and a card that I made for her and she made a loaf of banana bread for me and Ken. We drink hot chocolate and ate a piece of spice cake that Lin had made. She loves to bake and her cake was delicious. We laughed talked and laughed some more and the couple of hours I was over her house flew by. It's evening now and almost time for my snack. I should really skip it tonight because I already had a goody today but I'll splurge and go for two. I'll pick out a Netflix to watch and then knit and read for the rest of the evening. One of my happy times today was spending time with Lin. If not for my morning walk I would never have met her. :-)

Final episode

We are back to cloudy dreary days with rain. I just turn on all the lights and pretend it's the sun shining in. :-) Last night we watched a documentary from Netflix called A life Without Pain. It's about three children, a 3 year old from the US, a 7 year old from Norway, and a 10 year old from Germany who have Congenital Insensitivity to Pain. You would think not having pain would be a good thing but feeling pain is a good thing at times. It keeps us safe and makes us cautious. These kids who have no pain also have no fear of getting hurt. The older the kids get the better it is for them because they can understand their condition better. A look into the lives of these three families will give you a whole different outlook about pain. I thought the show was very good.
I had some apples that have been sitting around not being eaten so I decided to make a dessert with them. I made Apple Crumble. It is simple and quick to make and tastes delicious. Add some ice cream or whipped cream and it gets even better!
We watched the final episode of Six Feet Under this evening. Though I found the series depressing this final episode was the best final episode I've ever seen! I've started knitting a scarf using the ripple pattern that I make the afghans with. It's two shades of purple and white. My pedometer has been giving me trouble for a while now and a few days ago I ordered a new one and it came in the mail today. It is the same model I've been using for about 10 years now. My Dad gave me my first one for Christmas one year and I've had one ever since. Every day little things happen to us that make us smile. One of those little things today for me was drinking a Diet Mt Dew that Kenny brought home for me. :-) I hope your Tuesday was a Happy One!

The attic gets cleared out

My how quickly the weekends pass. Two nice days for my morning walks and on Sunday I saw the fox again. He ran right out in front of me across the path so I got a real good look at him but he was too fast to get a picture. Today it misted a bit while I was walking but by the time I was back home the sun was out. I took this picture of the river Sunday morning just as I crossed the street to go from one path to another one for no particular reason. I just love pictures of paths and rivers. Kenny went out for the day on Saturday and while he was out I decided to go up in the attic and start bringing down all the boxes to go through before we move. The attic just has a trap door in the ceiling in the upstairs hall and a ladder is needed. So I made many trips up and down the ladder. I didn't get everything down but made a good start. Then on Sunday afternoon Kenny and I finished bringing down the rest of the boxes and and other junk and now the attic is completely empty. Most of the stuff made it out into the garage in groups of things to go through, things to sell, and things to take with us. We have already thrown out a whole lot of stuff. I can't even begin to count how many trips up and down the ladder and the stairs we made. There was an iron frame from a Singer sewing machine in the attic that was there when we moved in here. We took that down as well and I'm hoping that my step-dad will make another end table out of it like he did with the other frame I had. I finished reading The Comforts of a Muddy Saturday by Alexander McCall Smith. This is book number 5 in The Isabel Dalhousie Series. More of the days and thoughts of Isabel the philosopher. I enjoyed reading this book as I did all the other ones in the series. I bought a new red sweater to wear to Cheryl's Christmas party on Saturday. We are both really looking forward to it. I'll be sure to bring my camera! Today was Meals on Wheels day. Mrs B was off today but my other 7 people were all home, happy and hungry. My friend Nola takes one of my people Janice to therapy and I timed it perfectly getting to her house because they were just getting back home when I arrived. Crazy drivers out there rushing around doing Christmas shopping I guess. I was glad to get back home. I walked to the post office this afternoon and bought a few more stamps and mailed off the last of my Christmas cards. I'm glad to be done with that, though I did enjoy making them this year and I will do it again next year. While at the post office I ran into Julie who drives my MOW route on Thursday's. We stopped to chat for a bit. Well, now I'm off to catch up on some blog reading. I think tonight would be a good night for pizza!! I'm sure it won't be hard to talk Kenny into that! :-) Enjoy the rest of your Monday and make it a Happy One.

The Beatitudes

I always like reading The Beatitudes. Hope you enjoy them too. Matthew 5:3-12 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. May you have a blessed Sunday and remember God loves you. :-)

SkyWatch

These two Sky Watch pictures were the best I could do for this week. We had a week of cloudy, rainy weather. The sun trying to come out but never made it. Airplane in a cloudy sky. We never got any snow last night, just more rain. This morning while I was walking the sky started to clear. By the time I was almost home the sky looked like this. I'm happy to see the sun again today. :-) If you like looking at sky pictures or want to post one of your own, make it happen by clicking on the picture below.

Gloves without fingers

Another rainy morning walk and I usually like walking in the rain, but not today. After walking a couple of miles a stream of water found its way down off my hood, down my neck and inside the front of my rain slicker . After walking 4.5 miles I was cold and wet so decided to cut my walk a bit short.

I met blogging friends Cheryl, Bonnie, & Kathy for lunch today at LeeLynn's which is a block away from the town house. We met early and had to cut lunch a bit shorter than usual because Cheryl had to go to work but the time we had together was fun. Bonnie gave me these gloves without fingers because I'm always cold. Thanks Bonnie - I love them!! I took the picture one handed.

It's been raining all day long and it's supposed to continue all through the night too and by morning it could change to snow. I doubt it will though. Seems too warm. We should see some sun by the afternoon which I am looking forward to. Enough of this dreary weather. One thing nice about rain at night is listening to it lying in bed. I love to go to sleep listening to the rain on the carport roof.

We finished watching another DVD of Six Feet Under. I think there are only 5 seasons and we are watching the 5th one now so we will have to pick out another series to watch. It's getting harder and harder to find something that I like to watch. I may be reading a lot more. :-) That sounds like a good idea - I'm off to read now.

I hope you had a Happy Day and that tomorrow brings us some sunshine!!

My friend the deer

A rainy, warm 60 degree morning for my walk today. I stopped at the post office first to mail the Christmas cards that I've finished and then continued on to the paths and walked 6.8 miles. The park workers went along the path yesterday filling in all the gullies and holes with crushed stone. We who use the path are lucky that they take such good care of the walking paths. I saw 5 deer along the side of the path. Four of them ran farther in the woods as I passed but the 5th one stayed by the edge of the path and looked at me. This is the same deer that I see every once in a while. I took some real close up pictures of it a while back. I know it's the same deer because she has a little scar on her front leg. For some reason she isn't afraid of me. I talked to her for a little bit and then she just turned and walked away and joined the other 4 deer. It is so cool to have a deer friend. :-) It rained on and off all day so I just stayed home. I baked some mini pumpkin bread loaves. They are the cutest little things. I like that it makes 7 loaves at once. It's just a little something I bake to give away to neighbors and friends for Christmas.
In the pans.
Out of the pans cooling.
I spent more time making more Christmas cards. I am almost finished with all of them and this is the last time I will mention these cards on this blog. I've had fun making them but will be glad when they are finally done. :-) My hair dryer is on it's last legs. Today it had a hard time starting and when it did it smelled like it was burning so I thought it was time to buy a new one. We had supper tonight at Red Robin and afterward went across the street to Target and I bought a new hair dryer. We have been looking for some square dishes to buy for quite a while and we found some that we both liked at Target. We got 4 dinner plates, 4 dessert plates, 4 salad plates, and 4 bowls. The picture doesn't show the true red color that they are. That's about it for today. I hope this Wednesday was a Happy One for you!

Chocolate chocolate chip

When I'm out walking along the path once in a while I see a glove or mitten or a hat hanging on a branch of a tree. People find these items and then hang them up so the people that lost it will be able to find it. Today I saw something a little different. It appears someone has lost their key. I blurred out the phone number. I bought some more stamps for the Christmas cards today plus some other stamps that caught my fancy for future cards. I worked some more on the cards. I'm starting to dream about these cards now. Next year I'm going to start making them in July!! Last week I mentioned that some one should make chocolate chocolate chip ice cream. Thanks to one of my blogging buddies, Ruta I learned that some one does indeed make the flavor. I bought some earlier this evening and tried some. I was very surprised to find that I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I prefer the chocolate chip. When there is chocolate ice cream and chocolate chips the chocolate competes with itself and I can't really taste the chips. The cold ice cream tastes nice and chocolaty but the chocolate chips have no taste to them. Now with the vanilla ice cream I taste that flavor and the chocolate chips taste nice and chocolaty. So I guess that is why chocolate chocolate chip ice cream isn't that popular. It's not quite time for bed yet so I'm going to read for a while. I hope this Tuesday was a Happy One for you.

A surprise outing

Started the day off as usual with a morning walk. I think it was the coldest morning of the year so far with a temperature of 20 degrees, but there was no wind so it really wasn't cold if you had on the proper layers.

I did my morning stuff around the house. I hung up the sheets inside today because it was cloudy and I didn't think they would dry outside. By afternoon the sun was out but by then my sheets were already dry.

Mid morning I went out to do a couple of errands. Later I was at home heating up my lunch in the microwave when my cell phone rang. It was Cheryl and she was just 3 miles from my house and was on her way to the stamp store at the mill. I put my lunch back in the refrigerator and she swung by, picked me up and drove the block to the Mill. We first had some lunch at Ram's Head and then went to the stamp store. Always nice to spend time with Cheryl.

Back home again and I really didn't feel like doing my exercise tape, but I did!! Worked on making more of those Christmas cards. I bought a new stamp that said Happy Holidays but I could only use it on some of the cards because it was too big for the others. So I still need to go and get another stamp. I'll probably do that tomorrow and then I'll be able to finish the cards and get them in the mail. I'd like to have them mailed by Monday. It's a good thing this is fun to do because it sure is a lot of work making cards. :-)

It's still early evening so I still have time to read, watch a movie, knit and have some chocolate chip cookies.

My Monday was a good one and I hope it was a Happy One for you too.

If Only

This is what the path looked like this morning with a light dusting of snow. I only saw two other people out running and I also spotted a deer. I enjoyed my walk as I do every morning. :-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many people think that If Only they could lose 5 or 10 pounds, or had more money, or a better job, a better car, a bigger house, or ______ fill in the blank, they would be happy. Many people are not content with what they have always wanting that one more thing to make them happy. But whatever you have or where you live, you are already living some one's If Only. So be happy and content with what you have. :-) 1 Timothy 6:6-8 But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. And if we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. Hebrews 13:5 Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you." I hope you have a blessed Sunday and that you are happy and content with what you have. :-)
A book worth reading
I stayed nice and warm in my 5 layers of clothing as I walked along the paths this morning when the temperature was just 22 degrees. It always amazes me that I'm not cold when I'm out walking and the rest of the day I'm cold!! Lots of people out running this morning though I didn't see any one until I was on the way back home. I haven't seen any deer for a while and today I was lucky to see 3 of them. I love how they bounce along. I also saw quite a few Cardinals. The red looks so pretty against the brown of the trees. Of course they also look pretty against white snow or the green of spring and summer. We went passed the townhouse last night and again the pictures aren't so good because it was dark. We were surprised to see them working on the deck already. The siding is up on the back and all the shutters are up as well.They are working on the dry wall inside and once they are finished with that we get to go in and take a look at everything before they do the final trim. I'll be able to get some good pictures then. I'm sure the people down the other end of our row will be in their houses by the end of the month, maybe even before Christmas. We went out this morning do to a few errands and buy a couple of Christmas presents. There were lots of cars in parking lots, and people inside the stores but no lines at the check out - not yet anyway. It's early afternoon now and we are home to stay for the rest of the day. I finished reading The Unthinkable by Amanda Ripley. A non-fiction book this time. Ken was reading it and kept telling me about parts of it and it sounded interesting so I read it too. It's about how people behave during disasters. It was very good and surprising how most people act. They don't panic but freeze and do nothing and wait for people to tell them what to do wasting valuable time. I think reading it may help save your life!! This book was the 25th book I've read since July. I set a goal for myself to read 25 books from July to the end of the year and have been keeping track of them on the side bar of my blog. I will continue to add them to the end of the year and then in January I'll start another goal. I finally started making my Christmas cards yesterday afternoon. I'm making the cards using a combination of things - the computer, stamping, and embossing. I made quite a mess with things all over the place, but I was having fun. I will probably do some more card making a little bit later. Off I go to enjoy the rest of my day. I hope your Saturday is a Happy One as well. :-)
