Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

A surprise outing

Started the day off as usual with a morning walk. I think it was the coldest morning of the year so far with a temperature of 20 degrees, but there was no wind so it really wasn't cold if you had on the proper layers.

I did my morning stuff around the house. I hung up the sheets inside today because it was cloudy and I didn't think they would dry outside. By afternoon the sun was out but by then my sheets were already dry.

Mid morning I went out to do a couple of errands. Later I was at home heating up my lunch in the microwave when my cell phone rang. It was Cheryl and she was just 3 miles from my house and was on her way to the stamp store at the mill. I put my lunch back in the refrigerator and she swung by, picked me up and drove the block to the Mill. We first had some lunch at Ram's Head and then went to the stamp store. Always nice to spend time with Cheryl.

Back home again and I really didn't feel like doing my exercise tape, but I did!! Worked on making more of those Christmas cards. I bought a new stamp that said Happy Holidays but I could only use it on some of the cards because it was too big for the others. So I still need to go and get another stamp. I'll probably do that tomorrow and then I'll be able to finish the cards and get them in the mail. I'd like to have them mailed by Monday. It's a good thing this is fun to do because it sure is a lot of work making cards. :-)

It's still early evening so I still have time to read, watch a movie, knit and have some chocolate chip cookies.

My Monday was a good one and I hope it was a Happy One for you too.

  1. It sounds as if you had a near-perfect Monday. I took my walk in the late afternoon because I split firewood this morning.

  2. Sounds like a great Monday. I sure admire your discipline in the exercise department.

  3. I'm glad your Monday was good for you. Am looking forward to seeing you on Thursday!

  4. You have a nice car:) I love long walks in the cold. It helps me catch up with my thoughts. Glad to see others walking.

  5. Does sound like a fun day! Thank you for your sweet comments today. I value our blogging friendship.

  6. What a great day you had! Your days are always great and that's because of your wonderful attitude toward life. I'm so glad I found your blog. Stay happy!

  7. It's always good spending time with you too!

  8. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend a Monday!

  9. It's great that you guys are so close together and have flexable schedules so you can meet up impromtu like that.

  10. I sometimes wonder if the card making is worth it. Most people tell me not to send them a card because they don't want to feel like they have to send one back. I enjoy it tho but I wish I could get my cards to look better.
I can't believe how much of your blog I missed!
