Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Wednesday

The doe and her twin fawns were in the road again
down the street from my house when I drove to town for my walk.

It was 69 degrees, cloudy, and breezy.
Got rained on near the end of my walk.
Just a light drizzle.

I brought a plastic bag with me and picked up some
fallen apples around the apple tree on the cemetery road.
The deer like apples so I've been picking them up and putting
them out back of my house on a rock.
It's fun to watch the deer come and have an apple snack.
I also put some water out back for the deer.

Walked around the cemetery on the hill.
Then went back on the main road heading toward home.
Turned around after a ways and walked through town over to
the industrial park and walked up and down the main road there.

Then back through town and to the pond parking lot where the Jeep is parked.

Didn't see anyone at all out this morning.
They either took the day off and were out at different times.

Was busy this morning getting some house work done.

We went to the library this afternoon.
Picked up a book for me and a DVD for Ken that we reserved.
Also picked out a couple other DVD's.
Connie asked if I would like another African Violet and I said yes, thanks.
She will be working Saturday and will bring it then when I'm there
for Stitching.

A beautiful sunny day, 80 degrees with a cool breeze.
I sat out on the porch and read.

That's going to be it for today.
Happy Wednesday

New Tires

68 degrees this morning with a good breeze and mostly cloudy.
On the way to town I saw the deer and her twin fawns again.
The three of them stood in the middle of the road looking at me,
and finally walked off so I could drive by.

Walked around both of the cemeteries first.

Then down to the ball park and around there.

The clouds moved in and looking at these figured that the rain was coming.

The rest of my walk was all over town up and down the side streets.

The rain did come during my walk but not hard and it didn't
last longer than 10 minutes.
Enough to get me wet but dried again.

Saw Rebecca twice, once walking Leo and then by herself.

The Jeep needed new tires so we went to Glotfelty Tire Center
in Oakland and got them today.
Thought we would be waiting an hour or so for them to be put on
so I took along some knitting to do while waiting.
Well weren't we surprised when it only took 20 minutes!!

Since we were in the area we did our shopping again this week at Walmart.

We got a couple of rain showers throughout the day but it
didn't amount to much.
We still need more rain.

That's all I've got for today.

Pink Peep Monday

A sunny morning and 60 degrees while walking this morning.
Didn't see any deer on my way to town but there was one on the way home.
In the cemetery there were 4 rabbits hopping around.

Sunrise is now 6:15
Another month I'll be walking in the dark again.

First walked to the library to drop off a couple of DVD's.
Then around town, up and down all the side streets and the ball park.
Lastly around both of the cemeteries.

John and Prim were coming down from the cemetery when I
was just getting to town and parking.

Around the ball park walking was Anna and Mark again
and the man was there running his loops too.
Bill and Greg where picking up some litter in the ball field.
Busy place the loop around the ball park this morning.

I made some fried bread for breakfast.
Got a load of clothes washed and hung outside
and a few quick chores done.

Ken's desk chair is in pretty bad shape and he's needed a new
one for a while now.
So this morning we went down to LaVale to Staples to see the
chairs for sale there.
We pulled up in front of the store and there was a bunch of
chairs sitting out in front of the store all on sale.
Ken picked out one he liked and we bought it.
It was $99, regular $239.

Miss Pink Peep stopped by to visit with some friends this week.

Washed the Jeep

On my way to town I saw 5 deer down by the apple tree.
It was 57 degrees, sunny, with no breeze.

I walked down the road I just drove up a ways and then
turned around and walked around both of the cemeteries.

Me and my shadow walking around the cemetery.

Might be a nice place for a group picnic by the pond.

Continued walking over to the ball park.
Today the chickens were all lined up on a 6 x 6 along the fence.

Next I walked to the DG Market and walked up and down the
street behind it and then headed back to the Jeep.

John was out walking Prim and I saw
Sheila's car in the parking lot but never saw her.

Stitching morning at the library.
Only 3 of us there.
I just about finished knitting a scarf and will finish it later.
We talk about all kinds of things and today we ended
up talking about Jonah from the Bible.
They only knew the basics and asked me if I would tell them the story so I did.
Not sure if they were joking or not but told me to pick out another
Bible story to tell next week.🙂

I've been meaning to wash the Jeep for a while and
finally did that this afternoon.
Now it's nice and shiny again.

Then it was time for sitting on the porch having a drink (water) and reading.

Day two of Fingerprints

58 degrees this morning when I was in town walking.
Mostly cloudy but did see a little sunshine too.
Saw the doe and her twin fawns on my way to town.
These twins were the older ones, there are others that are younger.

Walked around both of the cemeteries first.

Then down the road towards home, turned around and back to town.

Walked along the main road and over to the ball park loop.
Around town some more and then back to the Jeep.

Kinsley and her mom drove passed and Kinsley yelled
out the window, Hi Miss Karen.

All the other walkers and runners must have taken the day off
because I didn't see anyone.

I've always liked this house.
The sunflowers look so pretty there on the side of the porch.

Drove to church again for another day of doing Fingerprints.
A short day. (9:00 - 12:30)
Just a handful of people showed up again but we got quite a few done anyway.
7,224 books, put together, stapled, cut, and boxed up.

Didn't get anything done around the house when we got home.
Just had a nice relaxing afternoon puttering about.

Made our usual pizza for supper which we always enjoy.

Happy Friday

Fingerprints

Six deer were along the road when I drove to town
and 2 more on my way back home.

It was 64 degrees, cloudy, and very still when I started walking.

Walked around the cemeteries, the ball park, and all over the place.

Have you ever noticed that cows like to be up on hills.
This lone bull is king of the hill today.
The long barn is behind me.

Carmen was out walking again and saw John and Prim up at the cemetery.

Waking around the ball park I saw Anna and her dad Mark and
we stopped to talk.
I bet it has been a year or so since I've seen them.
They live behind the ball park on the other side of the stream.
Mark told me they see me often walking around the park in my
bright green sweatshirt.

Paul, the town worker before Bill and after Joe was driving through
town and stopped to say hi.

Ken had to stop in at the doctor in town to get blood work done.
He went while I was walking.
I took this picture when I saw him arrive when I was on the
other side of the pond by the day care.
You can see his RED truck in the parking lot at the doctors
and my RED Jeep in the parking lot on the left.

Ken was in and out in 4 minutes!!!
Thursdays, that is all they do from 7 - 11 is take blood that's why
it does't take long.

I was headed over to say hi to Ken but when I got here I saw him leaving.
He never saw me.

A pretty small turn out today, but we got a pretty good amount done,

Mandy made us supper and we ate there before coming home.
We had spaghetti, garlic bread, and a salad.
We got home a little after 6:00.

Nice to be home now!!

Geese and chickens

A little left over drizzle from last nights rain when I left this morning
for my walk around town.
It was 65 degrees with no wind.
I took along my umbrella but didn't need it.
After walking a couple of minutes it stopped and then just cloudy.

It was one of those very random walks all over the place
with no usual route.

This will probably be the last picture of the geese family.
You can see they are all the same size now.

Walking down from the cemetery I saw this other family
of geese cross the road to visit the family I've been watching! 🙂

I always stop to watch and talk to the chickens when I walk this way.

You will have to enlarge to see it,
but one of the chickens is standing in the tire made me chuckle.

Sheila was in town running again and I saw
a man running who I've seen a few times now, but don't know his name
but we alway say good morning as he runs past.
John was out walking Prim.

Bedford

64 degrees again in town when I walked.
A cloudy foggy morning.

Saw a deer and her twin fawns on my way into town.

Walked around town, both cemeteries, and the ball park loop.

Ran into Sheila quite a few times all over town.
Carmen was out walking again too - maybe she will become a regular.

Pretty quiet in town this morning,
nothing going on.

9:30 this morning we left towing the church trailer with the Romans
books and went to Bedford, Pa to drop them off and pick up
the next pallet of scriptures to put together.
It's a nice ride on a country road once we get passed Cumberland.

Unloading the boxes we all put together.

Loading the next pallet into the trailer to be put together.

We unloaded and loaded ourselves this time because everyone was busy working.

The printing presses were running.

Took this picture of Johnny (he runs the press) next to the rolls of paper so you
could see how big they are!!

As we always do on the way back home we stopped at
Wendy's for lunch.

I baked a lemon cake with lemon icing when we got home.
It will be a change from our ice cream snack this evening.

It's been a good day and for that I am thankful.

Pink Peep Monday

 A cloudy morning for walking.
It was 64 degrees and calm.
Was in town and started walking at 6:30.

Went around both cemeteries, the ball park, and all around town.

Little green apples.

As I walked passed the car dealer a man was looking around
at all the cars waiting for his truck to get serviced across the street.
I said Good Morning
and made a comment in passing, Looking for a new truck?
With that he started talking and gave me way to much information
all about his finances and why he couldn't get a new truck.
I didn't want to be rude by finally I had to say,
Well I'd better get going.

He was the only person I saw out this morning except for
someone fishing at the pond.

We drove to church and loaded up the church trailer with the
boxes of Romans books that we put together the last two months.
Paster Matt (Youth Pastor) was there to help load and with him
helping it was done in pretty fast.
Have the trailer in our driveway now and tomorrow will go and drop
them off and pick up another pallet of scriptures for us to put together.

We got some needed rain this afternoon.

Yesterday I took a few pictures of the fawn that visits us.
Mama is around too just not where I could get a picture.

This Monday Pink Peep is sitting here.
She did a little reading here this week. 🙂

Jalene had given me some more zucchini and yellow squash
and I sliced them up and roasted them in the oven.
Then we added them to pasta and sauce
and had that for supper.

That's it for this Monday.
Hope its a good one for you.

🎶No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus🎶
C F Weigle

1. I would love to tell you
What I think of Jesus
Since I found in Him
A friend so strong and true
I would tell you how
He changed my life completely
He did something
That no other friend could do

Chorus

No one ever cared for me like Jesus
There's no other friend so kind as He
No one else could take the sin
And darkness from me
O how much He cared for me

2. All my life was full of sin
When Jesus found me
All my heart was full
Of misery and woe
Jesus placed His strong
And loving arms around me
And He led me in the way
I ought to go

3. Ev'ry day He comes to me
With new assurance
More and more I understand
His words of love
But I'll never know
Just why He came to save me
Till someday I see
His blessed face above

A Blessed Sunday to all

African Violet

64 degrees and mostly cloudy but did see a few peeks of sunshine
and felt a gentle breeze.
Sunrise is after 6 now at 6:06

On my drive to town just down the road I saw 4 deer and a groundhog.

First walked back down the road I just drove up a ways before
tuning around and walking back to town.

I saw 2 more deer cross the road and then a truck stopped to
let a doe and fawn cross the road.

I was just getting back to town and saw sheila drove by in her
car on her way to town.

Passed up the parking lot and continued walking through town
and walked around the industrial park.

Still had a little more walking to do so went around the ball park.

When I got back to the pond I walked out on the walkway and
stood by the railing.
There was a nice breeze and I almost felt like I was standing
on the bow of a boat.

It was a blueberry pancake breakfast morning.

Stitching morning at the library.
Only 3 of us today.

The librarian Connie gave me this African Violet today.
Isn't it pretty.
She said she had lots of them and asked if I wanted one.
I have it sitting in the window above the kitchen sink.

When I walked up to Jalene's house to get the
zucchini and squash the other week there was a man doing some work in the yard.
After I left the man said to her.
So that's the town walker, I see her walking in all kinds of weather.
I come to find out that is what all the people in town call me.🙂

Not much got done around here this afternoon.
I'm on a roll with the counted cross stitch so did that most of the afternoon.
I have to take breaks every so often to give me eyes a rest though.

Happy Saturday

Friday

55 degrees when I started walking this morning
and 62 when I was done.
It was sunny and pretty calm.

Saw 4 deer on my way to town a block away from home.
In town I was walking up to the cemetery when two deer,
a doe and a fawn popped up out of one corn field, crossed the street
and ran into another corn field.
All happened so fast never got a chance to take a picture.

Walked all over town, both the cemeteries, the ball park loop,
and down the road towards home a ways and then back to town.

Sheila was out running and I saw her 3 different times.
Two other men running - the one I saw yesterday
and another new one.

Looks like something else is going to be built here by the cemetery.
Will have to see.

Blankets for Babies??

64 degrees this morning and cloudy and at first no wind at all.
Then a bit later a nice breeze came along.

No usual walking route, just a very random one all over the place.

Pictures I took along the way.

Pretty quiet around town this morning.
Only saw one runner who I've never seen before.

I noticed a cat (looks a bit like KitKat but it is NOT him)
sitting outside the fence just watching the chickens.
The chickens didn't seem bothered and I wondered if a cat will go after them.

Looked it up when I got home and it said very rarely will a cat
attack a full grown chicken but they will go after chicks.

Morning Walk Steps
12,883

☁️    ☁️

Left right after breakfast and drove to church for Blankets for Babies.
There were 12 of us there this time.

It might be the last time we will being doing this.
The hospital that we give the blankets to has informed us
that we can no longer attach the cards to the blankets that we put on them.
The cards included a gospel track and an invitation to come to our church.
They said they don't want to be affiliated with our church.
It wasn't just our church but others who do similar things.

Some years ago we were allowed to go in the hospital and if the
new mothers wanted us to visit we would and give them a blanket.
(every one got a blanket whether they wanted a visit or not)
Most all welcomed us and were very thankful.
Only a handful after all these years said no.
Then we couldn't do that but could attach the cards and now
can't even do that.

So without the visit or cards people will have no idea where the
blankets come from and the whole point of the Ministry is
a way to reach people with the gospel.

There might be some other options we have and this month
people are looking into what can be done.
Next month we will see what happens.
We are all praying that this ministry in some way can continue.

I didn't do much of anything this afternoon because I
started reading and finished my book.
Tried reading on the front porch but it was a bit cool and windy
so read inside.

Happy Thursday
