Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Still here

We are still up on our land.  It's been nice being able to stay for the week.  We planned on going home tomorrow but will stay another day and leave mid day Saturday.
I've been going for morning walks and enjoying the country roads to walk along but I do miss my lake.  I'm glad I get to have both!!
Here's a road I walked along this morning.
I'm on the main road here on a bridge looking down at a road I just walked along.  Pretty high up isn't it?
We've been working and taking time to relax too.
Yesterday we drove over to Swallow Falls state park and hiked along a few of the trails.
It was a short walk from the parking lot to Muddy Creek Falls.
Huge rocks with tree roots growing on them.
We've been having fun with the chipper and have put some of the chips down along one side of the tractor barn.   It neatens things up a bit and makes for easier walking.  Some day I'd like to have paths like this all over our property.  We will have our own private walking park.
It sure would be nice to have Internet at our trailer. We will have to look into that. Though it is nice to be able to come to MacDonald's it is starting to get a bit old.  I haven't had any time to visit with you all but will catch up during the weekend.

The weather has been pretty hot but it is about 10 degrees cooler here than at home.  We've had a couple of thunder storms but have weathered then fine in the trailer.
That's about it for this time.  Will try to post again before we leave for home.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.
A happy day to you all.

Beth from Canada - Yes, I'm still loving my Striiv now that I've got my strides accurate.  I'm having a fun time building up my island.
Here's the directions for finding your stride.  Hope they help you.
1. At your normal stride, walk 14 strides.
2. Measure the distance from START to END in inches.
3. Compute your single stride length by dividing the total distance measured in #2 by 14.
Example Total distance measured = 384 in.
Single stride length = 384 in. divided by 14 = 27.43 in. Stride
4. Round off your single stride length to the nearest inch.
Example 27.43 in. = 27 inches.
5. Convert your rounded off single stride length in #4 to fee an inches by dividing by 12.
Example 27 in. divided by 12 = 2 ft. 3 in.  This is your stride length.

I know it sounds a bit complicated but if you take it one step at a time it is really easy to do.

Looks like lots of great places to walk!!
I'm not sure what type of cell phone service you have but usually you can get a mobile wifi thru your cell phone service - or a card that fits into your laptop.

Think you can get a picture of the higher road and bridge from the lower road? It looks as if you're floating above the road, which is pretty cool.

I think wood shavings paths would be nice and easy walking.

Yes, it shouldn't be too hard to get Internet access...This is the 21st Century! ☺

I don't even use a pedometer, but I want to figure out my stride. I think it's about 14 inches. '>

Glad you are enjoying your 2nd home.. The land sounds PERFECT. If you can get Verizon up there, you might want to check into a MiFi from them... OR--maybe your phone company has its own MiFi.. We have the Verizon one and it works pretty well anywhere where there is a Verizon signal...

Hugs,
Betsy

Your walking paths look pretty with all of the trees. I always find it interesting how trees grow through all of that rock. The waterfall looks really nice.
Enjoy the rest of your time there.

Ohhhh those falls!!! -Be still my heart- :-)

Have no idea how one would go about getting internet connection, in a trailer. But I'm sure there is some way. :-)

There looks to be some interesting walks with such beautiful scenery. It would be a real bonus to have broadband connection at your trailer.
Enjoy your weekend.

Forgot to say how much I liked the photo of the tree roots wrapped around the rocks.
