Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking in Town πŸ˜€

Happy Days, I'm back to morning walks in town. πŸ˜€
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed my walk!!!
It was 22 degrees, clear, and no wind.
Sunny at the end of my walk.
My heel still bothering me some but very manageable
with the heel inserts.
Sunrise 7:38
Still not getting lighter in the morning but that will change on Wed.

Walking was a bit haphazard around town avoiding the slippery spots.
Went around both cemeteries.
Wasn't slippery on the snow.

Stopped in at the doctors office when it opened.
Ken has some more blood work to be done on Thursday and wanted
to make sure the paper work got put in.

Thought I might see someone else out walking but there was only me.
Kids back to school today so the buses and more cars were back.

πŸ₯Ύ    πŸ™‚    🌀    ☃️

Started the usual weekly house cleaning chores for this week this morning.

Did a little reading and knitting as I'm known to do most afternoons.
Dale's throw blanket is coming along.
I just have 40 more rows.
That sounds like a lot but it will go fairly quickly.

Last evening was a bit sad at church because it was
Pastor Matt, our youth pastor and his wife Courtney's last day.
They have been with us the last 8 years and we all have come to love them.
They have a wonderful ministry with the youth and it will
be very hard to replace them.
The will surely be missed.
God has called them into youth evangelism.
We had a good-bye get together after church last evening and there were
tears of sadness but happy memories too and anticipation of
what God has in store for them in the future.

Laura who sends me the pictures with the Bible verses
sent me this one today.
Pastor Matt and Courtney.
He's a big guy 6'5" with an even bigger heart.

Well, I'm off now to get supper which is shrimp and fried rice.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you had a wonderful Monday.

The sunshine 🌞 today was wonderful as well as the warmer temperatures. I'm glad you were able to get outside and walk in town again today.
Your youth pastor and his wife look like such a sweet couple. Those Farewell get together are hard sometimes.

I am so looking forward to light in the morning! Although, I am a bit of a baby when it comes to cold weather. I need to get back to it, though. I am tired now in the afternoons, and I know it is because I am not walking. Have a cozy evening, and Happy New Year, my friend.

Hi Karen! Glad you were able to get outside to walk today and that your heel is improving.
It's nice that it's getting lighter a little earlier. I heard on the news today that we gain 51 minutes of light by the end of January.
I'm sorry your youth pastor is moving on. It's hard, even when they are going on to something good.

I'm so glad that you were able to walk outside again finally. I can imagine how much you enjoyed it.
That is sad about your pastor leaving. I hope whoever replaces him will fill his shoes well

So if its slippery out, can you still do a power walk? You're brave. I'm not used to walking on snow without snow shoes and ice on pavement scares me. You must have excellent balance! I'm way too careful now. I have had one to many falls that resulted in surgery and don't want to go through all that again. You're A beast, Karen! 😁

Hi Karen. So glad you could walk outside today, because I know how you love it. Pastor Matt sounds like a great guy. We had some changes in leadership at our church this Sunday too. I hope you have a good week. See you again soon!

It was good hearing you were able to walk today. I admire how dedicated you are about your walks, it's great. It is hard to see a part of your church family leave; it's time for them to go where God has called and be a blessing to others. I hope the youth are blessed with a great replacement.

I'm glad the heel inserts are helping.
Our sunrise is still after 8 o'clock!! 8:03 if I'm not mistaken. It's very dark walking in the early morning and we forgot a flashlight this morning. At least it did not rain todayπŸ’—

Hope your heel gets to feeling better. Yes it is sad when church families leave but when God calls, you go.
Weather here in NC is getting cold some days but no snow. 40s in the am and 50s in the afternoon.

It's snowing here. I just tripped on a snowflake.
God bless.

I'm glad to hear that the weather and your heel are cooperating so that you can back to your walk. I'm glad the inserts are helping.
It is always bittersweet when a cherished leader of a church is called somewhere else. It's a blessing for them and those who they go to, but sad for the ones they leave. He sure does look tall compared to his wife.
We're having a warmup this week again, but we need some rain. I understand that in my area of the country we will gain 30 minutes of daylight throughout January. I'm missing the light when I first get up.
Happy New Year!

Hooray for you and being able to walk in town again. Oh...it is hard to lose a good pastor. We have finally been able to replace our youth/assistant pastor who moved to Georgia a year ago. Our new pastor is coming on January 15th. We are excited. Enjoy finishing that blanket.

Freezing rain and then rain today. Snow is moving in soon now. Good luck to your pastor. Janice
