Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Saturday

The thermometer said 27 degrees when I started out walking
but it didn't feel as cold as that.
There was no wind and the sun came out.
Sunrise 6:50
Morning Walking Steps 12,972

Walked around the lower cemetery first and then up to the
one on the hill.

Walked passed the cows and little ones in the big barn.
A few little ones were still asleep.

This picture is taken at the other end of the barn.

Didn't want the girls in the barnyard to feel left out so
took a picture of them too.

Walked over to where they are taking the trees down along the
driveway to see the progress.
Doesn't look like they will be leaving many of them standing.

Continued on over to the ball park and walked that loop a
couple of times.
Then up and down all the side streets in town.

When I first started walking I saw a raccoon coming out from a
drainage pipe and when it got a glimpse of me turned around
and went right back in.
A few rabbits were hopping about too.

Pretty quiet around town on this early Saturday morning.

🌤    🥾    🐄    🐇    🦝    🙂

Got a load of laundry out on the line and a few house chores done
during the morning.

A lazy afternoon for me puttering about the house.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Saturday

Some of my favorite verses in the Bible are
when the one thief on the cross repents and gets saved
and will see Jesus in paradise.
Talk about leaving things to the last minute!!!!

Luke 23:39-43

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying,
If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

But the other answering rebuked him, saying,
Dost not thou fear God,
seeing thou art in the same condemnation?

And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds:
but this man hath done nothing amiss.

And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee,
To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Deb - Our house now is smaller than the one in town.  Town house had 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, dining room, family room, and kitchen.
Happy Trails house has 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths and the living room, kitchen, dining room is one open plan room.
Both houses have a basement.

Ginny - We moved from town to live at Happy Trails in the woods.  We had the property first and would come up from Howard county on weekends.  When Ken was forced to retire early we came up here, bought the house in town with the intention of building a house at Happy Trails.  We designed the house ourselves and had it built.

Hi Karen! I love how you successfully downsized into a home and place you really love there at Happy Trails! I also love the scriptures you put in this post. Yes, that is quite a story of someone realizing that Jesus is Lord at the VERY last minute! I hope that you and Ken have a wonderful Resurrection Day. We won't be going to church because we are still getting over Covid (especially Charly) but we will be worshipping and praising Jesus in our hearts! See you again soon!

That's hard to believe all those trees are going to be cut down. Very sad! Happy Easter to you and Ken.
