Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Corn Gone

29 degrees this morning when I left the house.
It was calm and cloudy.

Nice getting to walk outside again after an inside walk yesterday.
Walked around town, both cemeteries and the ball park too.

The corn is cut down now and I can see beyond the fields again.

The barn is back in view.

Didn't see anyone else out walking.

The men were back at work on the roof of the church building.
Picture not that great but wanted to show them up there
working on that slippery roof.
First getting the ice and snow off so they could work.
Looks pretty dangerous and I asked God to keep them safe as they worked.

Didn't see any rabbits but saw a lots of their tracks in the snow.

Walked 6 miles

Bench Number 15
On the deck at the child care center.

Food shopping day has came around again.
Since we didn't go to the Dollar General on Saturday we
stopped there first.
Got all we could get there and then went to the Shop an Save
to get the rest of the stuff on our list.

I enjoy getting home and putting everything away.
Feels good to see a nice full pantry.

Warmed up some this afternoon and just about all the snow is gone.

Got some work done around the house and then
knitted and read.

Thanks for dropping by for a visit.
A happy Tuesday to you. 🙂

The only snow we have here is on the mountains that surround me. Beautiful snow of course I don't have to live in it.

I too, love it when I have a full pantry. Right now, the pantry is filled to the brim with food, plus I have a storage room/craft room filled with food. I can't get another thing in my garage freezer so we're good to go for now.

Love your photos - such a pretty area you live in.

Hi Karen. Good of you to pray for the workmen on the roof of the church. It does look cold and slippery up there. I remember last spring when you would show pictures of how high the corn was growing and now it is all cut down and gone. I agree with you, it does feel nice to have a full pantry - something to be grateful for! Glad you had another good day!

After being out in weather like that, it always makes home extra enjoyable. It is good some people can handle the heights like that.

That's so nice that you were able to get outside for your walk today.

It does feel good to be prepared with your pantry goods.

Nice to have the barn view again, now that the corn is harvested.
We often find the Sandhill cranes where a cornfield has been harvested... they love that corn!

Have a lovely evening.

Glad they got the corn in. I know the farmers around here are nearly done too. That roofing job does look dangerous!

We made a quick trip to pick up a few groceries this afternoon never thinking that the recent storm which has cut us off from supplies arriving from the east has made people go stark raving mad. Grocery carts piled high with food and of course, TP. Like you we have a well stocked pantry and are not going to starve just yet.

Yikes, glad you said a prayer for those men on the roof. That looks treacherous. There's a certain charm in weathered benches. Glad you could walk outside. We are dipping into the 20's tonight!

I shudder to see those men on such a steep roof. I guess I’m afraid of heights so it seems even more dangerous.

Hello,

They have not cut the corn around here yet. I would worry about the roofers, I hope they stay safe. The view of the snow and barn is pretty. Have a happy day!

That's a lot of snow.

Keep warm, God bless.

Ahhh snow is gone.

Yes, it's probably because of your elevation, that you got this... snow. -smile-

Snow! We usually don't see any here in KY until maybe January, if then. Like you, I enjoy a full pantry.

Working on the church roof sounds scary. Hopefully they got done what they needed without any problems.

You've had quite a bit of snow!
It doesn't look easy working on the roof of the church building.

All the best Jan

It's good that the corn was harvested before the snow fell. Or was it? You captured it all beautifully in your pictures. Those are some dedicated workers on that roof top. How thoughtful of you to say a prayer for their safety.
