Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking Blocks

Walking conditions were just like yesterday so stayed home
and walked inside.
This one is for you Bettye.

These piles of little blocks help me keep track of my walking
miles in the basement.
Each block represents 500 steps and a stack of 4 is roughly one mile.
Every 500 steps I move a block to another area.
When all blocks are moved I'm done walking for the day.

We left after lunch in the truck to go to Walgreens in Grantsville
to pick up Ken's medicine.
Before we left Ken salted the driveway which was a sheet of ice.
Drove around town first to see how walking would be.
All the roads are fine but not the walking areas. Glad I walked inside again.
By the time we got to Walgreens it was 1:35 and once inside realized
that the pharmacy was closed for their lunch break.
It is closed every day from 1:30 to 2:00.
Didn't feel like waiting around so we went back home.

Took this picture from the truck on the way home.

Another puzzle has been completed.

It's still sitting on the table.
Will take it apart tomorrow and start yet another one.

It's been another day without sunshine.
The sun is supposed to make an appearance tomorrow afternoon.
I look forward to it.

A happy day to you.
Thanks for the visit.

I like that puzzle! We got up to 40 today!! It was rainy and gloomy all day and very soggy and muddy! That's an interesting way to track your walking in the basement!

That is a neat way to keep track of how far you have walked....how do you count your steps--with a phone app?

I hate getting somewhere only to discover I came when they are closed for lunch. Specially if there is nothing else to do to fill the time. Hope the salt worked on the driveway.

Love the Ward quotation. G[d idea on tracking your mileage when indoors. If and when I do a garage walk...once around the car is 60 steps (I think...it's been a while) so, I track around 100 times to 6000 steps.
Loved tour puzzle, we too finished one yesterday - Audubon scene of birds. Oh, & that train setting reminds me of a hilarious OLD movie with Lucille Ball (the long trailer something or other...will have to Google for the title)

That sure is a great Farm Scene Puzzle- I'd be tempted to glue them onto a board and mount them under glass- and put them in a favorite spot for show.

Hello,

The RV trailer is cool, love the old vintage RV's. The puzzle picture is cute, a nice Autumn scene. Take care, enjoy your day!

Nice puzzle, another one done. The roads here have been icy too in the mornings. It's raining now with freezing temps tonight.
