Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Truck Picnic

It sure was warm this morning - 62 degrees!!
Was supposed to rain but too warm to wear rain pants and slicker
and much too windy for the umbrella so figured I'd just get wet.
Was pleasantly surprised when it never did rain
till I was back home.
Sunrise 7:18

Drove to town at 6:35 and on the way saw a couple of deer and a rabbit.

My walk started by walking to the post office to mail a letter.
Then all around town and the loops around the ball park
and both cemeteries.

Spotted the first daffodils blooming down a side street.
That's enough to make you smile.  🙂

Saw something odd this morning.
A house in town had one side of it decorated with Christmas lights
and a huge blow up Santa in front.
The other half had orange lights with a huge Halloween blow
up spider.
What do you suppose that is all about!?

Rebecca was out walking around town this morning too and we
passed each other three times!

Walked 6 miles

Another day around the house.
More cleaning, reading, and making weave-it squares.
Also got a pile of shredding papers done too.
Always enjoy a bit of shredding.

Our Pastor gave us a call this morning to make sure
all was well with us.
Such a blessing having a great church and Pastor!!

Thought it would be nice to get out of the house for a bit
so I made us a lunch of
chicken salad sandwiches, potato chips, and an orange
with some drinks.
When Ken came out of the basement from working on his trains
for lunch I surprised him with a picnic lunch.

We took our lunch and drove up the road to the scenic
overlook and ate lunch there sitting in the truck
looking at this view.

Sure did enjoy our little outing.

  That's all for today.
A happy day to you.
Thanks for visiting.

...it got into the high 70s here at home today and a cold front is blowing in, the 30s tomorrow are on tap! My wife and I always pack our lunch and now with restaurants closed it's a necessity. Stay safe Karen.

Oh those are just the sort of easy, pleasant outings anyone can enjoy. It sure made me grin. What a beautiful view!

Yes, those cheery Daffodils make me smile. The lunch looks delicious . It's little things, like a simply picnic lunch while enjoying that view, that make life so much fun.

We enjoy eating out too...that is...eating out in the pickup truck! You had a great view there, so that's all the better! I love your sunrise picture!

I think the picnic lunch sounds good...it was a bit too windy and chilly to do that here. And I think tomorrow is going to be a bit chillier...not sure about the wind. I love hearing about your ordinary days. Those daffodils are so pretty.

Im hearing that people are putting up holiday decorations to lighten the somber mood of the country during this time!

How nice to plan a little picnic lunch. I see someone already has mentioned that people have been encouraged to put up lights to cheer the world during this pandemic.

what a great idea for lunch :) I also like the idea of putting up decorative lights to brighten things up for people.

Hi Karen - I heard that some people are putting up lights because our country "needs a little Christmas" right now. I love the picnic lunch. So glad your pastor is keeping in touch. Stay safe and well!

Several comments are about decorating with lights and decorations to brighten up our world in these dark times so that must be the reason behind your local half Christmas and half Halloween house. I hadn't heard about anything like it.
The Daffodils are cheerful. Your picnic sounds just lovely.

We did a picnic yesterday. Seemed like the best thing to do. It was nice and in the 80’s.

What a great idea to go for a Picnic Lunch at a place affording such a lovely view of the countryside. I did model making to-day in my shed expecting rain as well - though no rain today- perhaps tomorrow. Cheers. KEV.

What a good wife you are to have thought of a picnic to brighten up the day! And that scenic overlook view that you enjoyed as you ate your picnic lunch is just gorgeous!

Think of you often and pray God's protection over you and Ken.

A picnic - what a tremendous idea! Our daffodils are starting to go by. They came early this year. I love that early shock of bright yellow! Glad you stayed dry.
