Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Outside work

Left for town in the Jeep at 6:40 this morning.
Two rabbits ran in front of the car but no deer today.
Some fog around again this morning but it was more like
walking in out of clouds.  Fog was very spotty.
42 degrees this morning and calm.
Sunrise 7:31

Walked around town and then headed over to the
industrial park and walked in there.
Then back to the main road, through town,
once around the ball park loop and
once around the lower cemetery.

Saw several red winged black birds again.
Some at the industrial park and some at the cemetery.

Walked 6 miles
Found a penny

Got chores down in the morning again.
Great day to hang the laundry out on the line.

After lunch we went out to do a few errands.
Taking trash to refuse center
Library
Hardware store

A beautiful sunny afternoon in the 50's!!
So we went up to cabin and cleared and cut some of the
old sticker bushes around there.
Nice getting them cut down when they are just stems before
the leaves sprout.
Last year things got way out of hand and it was a real mess.

Before

After
Had to take the railing down because it was rotten.

Before

After

That took care of the afternoon.
Seemed like a good day for making nachos when we got home
so that's what we had for supper.

Looking forward this evening to reading, making squares,
watching an episode of Frankie Drake Mysteries
and of course having my dish of ice cream.

That's my day.
A happy day to you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Looks like a fun day of work...I love doing things that last longer than a day. Plus I just like cleaning up places like that. I, too, liked your start to the day.

That's the kind of work I enjoy, especially when it makes such a big difference. I love seeing before and after pictures. This afternoon turned out sunny and warm so I too worked outside cleaning up three big tree limbs that broke during that last snowstorm. Thought about you the whole time. I cut the smaller limbs off and used them in the natural fence. The fence was getting worn down looking. The new limbs made it pretty again.

So smart to get that brush under control in the winter! I keep looking at ours and thinking it should be done this time of year. Since it won't be happening this year because of the extra time raising the shop we'll consider it for next late winter!

I love that little cabin. It surely does look nice with the brush cleared out from around it.

You have been very busy- by comparison I've done nothing to-day...just admire your photos- especially the Fog.

I hope you are cataloguing every penny you found - where and when found etc ... you could then frame them and make nice pictures to hang around the house. Valuable too.

God bless.

Karen, your pictures are always so pretty and the one captured of the sunrise is breathtaking! The before and after pictures from up at the cabin are amazing. You both worked hard but it has to be so rewarding to step back and look at the difference that hard work made.
