Got a late start this morning
and didn't leave the house till 7:00 on my walk.
and didn't leave the house till 7:00 on my walk.
64 degrees, cloudy, and very calm
Sunrise 6:28
Took along my umbrella because it looked like rain.
Walked to town again.
Saw a couple of deer on the way.
Turned left right at the edge of town and walked up the hill to the cemetery.
Walked around there a couple of times
and then down here to the barn and Drane house.
and then down here to the barn and Drane house.
The horses were out past the pond across from the barn
and far away so couldn't get a picture.
Walked around the other cemetery too and then back toward home.
Felt a few rain drops 4 miles into my walk
but it never rained hard enough to put up the umbrella.
BUT
I'm glad I had my umbrella because that pesky little
yappy dog came running after me again.

I pointed the umbrella at him and opened and closed it fast a couple of times.
It was enough to cause him to run away.
You should have seen how fast that little thing can run!!
We did this 4 more times before he finally went back home.

Nice that the rain held off for me till after I got home.
I made English Muffin Loaves this morning.
It's been a long time since I've made them.
Don't know why because we really like them and they are easy to make.
We'll have that for breakfast tomorrow but we did have a slice
when they were done.
Had to make sure they turned out okay.
Got some cleaning done and then continued to work on
the baby blanket.
I will be finished with it later this evening.
Will post a picture of it tomorrow.
My flavor of ice cream this evening will be
cookies and cream.

...it's so dry here that I wouldn't mind walking in some rain!
I wondered if it was going to be that little yappy dog! I would be tempted to carry it all the time just for that. I wonder how far it would follow you if you let it come.
We have a little yappy dog next door...last summer and the one before could not enjoy sitting outside because it barked non-stop. Every breath.
It was overcast here, till afternoon. It has been so long since I baked bread from scratch...I wonder if I am still capable. I love english muffins with butter and jelly! That sounds delicious.
A creative use for an umbrella.
Excellent use of the umbrella. Maybe Yappy Dog will figure out that you’re not a pushover. (I’d be so tempted to turn his yappy buns in!)
Cookies ‘n Cream is one of your favorites from way long time ago. ☺️
Five years Ive lived here....and my heart still gives a little leap when I see a red barn!! ( I know Im nuts)
I have an assortment of brolleys I brought from the Uk..including one with pink polka dots... and another with little yellow ducks in wellie boots. I have yet to use them... Rain dosnt like California methinks... or maybe its my umbrellas its not partial to..

I'm glad you had the umbrella...dogs really scare me when I'm walking. The bread sounds yummy. I had a blueberry bagel today that was delicious! Enjoy your evening!
I smiled as I read about your dog encounter. That little fella must have thought there was a huge creature about to attack him.I can see him running away in my mind.
I am envisioning you, alone on a country road, brandishing your umbrella at said yappy dog. It didn't have a chance!!! We've been having cooler weather - if I didn't know better, I would think fall is around the corner. Enjoy the rest of your week.
My but that corn is tall! I'm assuming it's cattle corn and not for eating.
A most excellent use of an umbrella. :) Our neighbors up the road just fenced in a field with woven fence and installed a lovely wrought iron gate across their driveway and now have some pitbulls in there. I've not attempted walking past there yet ... umbrellas might not have the same affect on them as it did on the yappy little dog.
Blessings~
Second photo - how clever of those hedges not to cross over the fence.
God bless.
Hello,
I am only seeing one photo, it is a pretty view of the road and trees.
One day that dog could be hit by a car, the owner should keep their dog close to their home. The English Muffin Loaves sound delicious. Wishing you a happy day and a great week ahead!
Sounds like you found a great use for your umbrella. Too bad the dog's owner isn't keeping closer reins.
I used to make English Muffin Bread and we loved it toasted. Now that you have reminded me I think I'll make some too.
Love, love that red barn!
Glad you were able to stop that yappy dog in its tracks and send it running :)
Never made English muffin bread...I need to give it a try one of these days.
Smiles :)

I just looked at your picture and recipe for the English muffin loaf...oh my goodness that looks SO good!
Oh those yappy ankle biters! I’m glad the umbrella scared him off. You can always carry a water gun too. Haha.
We need rain here. It’s been so dry.

your rain and the temperature sounds wonderful! It has been 107 here with the week in the 100 plus with no rain. How funny you made that yipping little dog run with your umbrella!
Those ankle snappers can be a pain, glad you had your umbrella to scare him away. We had a few rain showers today and it cooled our day a little bit, it felt good.
Enjoy your day!
Love the mental image of you opening and closing the umbrella! Have a great day!
So glad you had that dog repellent umbrella. Good for you for thinking to do that.
