Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

One More

Here is one last train layout picture for now.
Will post more in the future.
Don't think I'll ever run out of pictures to take of the layout.
Winter continues with a mix of sun/clouds, cold weather, ice, and snow late afternoon.
More walking in the basement.
Not the greatest place to walk but sure am thankful I have it!!
I keep thinking of the many nice walking days that I will have one day again.

Got the routine morning chores done after breakfast and we were off
to the old house.
It has been a bunch of days now that we haven't been there so figured
we'd better get back to painting.
The white kitchen cabinets look so nice and sure brighten up the room.
One of the rooms down in the basement is just about done now except
for the cutting in.  It is a big room and it took 4 coats of paint to cover
the dark color.
It is so hard to get motivated about painting, neither one of us likes to paint.
There is so much to paint that at times it seems over whelming.
But I know it will get done and we will be glad we did it.
Funny thing though, the people who buy it will probably paint it again!!

Home this afternoon doing a bit of this and that.
Reading and working on the puzzle.
This is one of the hardest puzzles we've done.
While we working on it this afternoon
Ken says, "We aren't going to bed tonight until this is finished."
I'll let you know if we succeed.

Hope your day was a happy one.

I will check back later...expecting an update at least in the comments if it is finished...LOL Just teasing. But now I will be wondering and waiting to see a pic of the finished puzzle.

I am not fond of painting, but more because of having to get things moved. Both our daughters can just paint so quick and efficiently.

Well...did you finish the puzzle? :-)

Hi! It is easy to see that much has happened with you since I last made some blog rounds! You are in your new house! Yay! Lots of work ahead with painting the other one, though. I need to begin a puzzle this winter. Several await!

It often feels so useless to paint house before selling it. Most of the time it’s the wrong color. Hope it sells quickly after all this work.

I really love seeing the train set up! There's so much detail and so realistic too. Hope this bitter cold lifts soon. It's so dangerous! Take care and have a blessed Sunday!

...I love the old cars and trucks, it would be neat to see a video of Ken's work of art!

Your basement walking reports are what drew me back to your site. They are more inspirational than you may realize.

Your pictures, whether of trains or of snowy trails, are always so good! I am thinking of you tonight, and wondering if you are still working on the puzzle. :~)

Hello, the train display is so cute. Love the photos. Do you have a contract on your old home? I do not like painting, but it does freshen up the place.
Have a happy day and a great new week ahead.

Ken must be sick of that puzzle; otherwise, what’s the rush? 😉 He certainly does create detailed, interesting scenes.

Painting...it, too, will come to an end. I am another who just loathes it. (John liked it, though.)

Hope that you can get outside to walk soon.

The model old cars are a nice addition to the set!

Yes, that's probably right!
But I'm sure yours and Kens efforts on the painting will help when you put your house back on the market.

All the best Jan

Love that layout. I understand how it's hard to get the inspiration to keep painting when it seems to never end. We're still in painting mode here, too. Took some time off for a trip and now waiting for more inspiration to get back at it. We started an artistic grand canyon 1000 piece puzzle and boy was it hard. We left it almost completed for the next renters at the vacation home we stayed in.
Hope your week is going well.
