Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The donut

🌷     🌷
No rain, No snow this morning when I walked.
Just cloudy, no wind and 35 degrees.

First stop was at the library to drop another book down the book drop.

I've mentioned many times how good it smells walking past
the Rolling Pin Bakery and today was no exception.
As I was passing by Ken's truck pulled in the parking lot so I stopped
and went in with him.  He was on his way to the new house site and stopped
in to get donuts for him and Ronnie and Walter working at the house.
You get 6 for $5.
I nabbed one of them, put it in a bag and walked back home with it
to save it for my breakfast.
Then headed out again to finish my walk.

Walked through town, around the ball park loop, and the two cemeteries.
A man was running around the ball park, and one fisherman was at
the town pond.  Saw Lisa out running too.

Walked down to see my friend Star.
One of the ponies came up to the fence.
You can see Star coming up behind the pony.
She gave the pony a little shove and stepped up and put her head over the
fence for me to pet her.  Maybe a little jealousy?

Usually I just walk around the cemetery but today I stopped and had a
look around at some of the gravestones again.
Such a shame that the names and sayings have faded away and you
can't read them anymore.
Sure was nice walking in my regular walking shoes and having it dry
for a change.
Walked my usual 6 miles.
🌷     🌷
Now once I was home I had that breakfast donut to look forward to.
So many times I pass up the donut but we all have to indulge once
in a awhile, right?
Take a look at this donut.
I enjoyed every single bite. 😊

Made it up to 50 degrees and we even saw a little sun
but it was very windy.

I made quite a few weave-it squares this afternoon on the latest baby blanket.

Having our first bit of trouble with the new house.
We are not happy with the wood floor that Ronnie is installing and neither is he.
It is not with his installation but the floor itself.
The boards were just not milled right and they are not fitting together
good at all.  There are gaps between some of the boards and some
are thicker than others and some of the boards are wider at one end
than the other.
Ronnie has called the floor guy and he will be coming to look at it on Monday.
We want them to take it all back and we will go somewhere else for the
flooring.  We are not picky people but this is just not right.
We will have this floor a long time and it costs too much money to put up
with something we are not happy with.
I am now reading the Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon.
It is the book number 5 in the Outlander series.
I started it awhile back but have been reading other books
and now I'm glad to be back to it.  I really like the series.

Beautiful Robin. I always loved to see robins for they signal better weather ahead. At least where I grew up :-) I agree with you about the flooring and I hope you get something much better.

Helo, love the pretty robins and the horses. I agree with the floor being returned, it does cost a lot and should look just right. ENjoy your weekend.

We rarely have robins in our yard because of the hard red clay...hard to get worms out of it. Today after the rain, I saw three of them! and man, that donut sure looks good!

Your robin seems much larger than our little robins.

Double good for you...the doughnut (oh boy, it sure looked yummy!) and the floor. You are exactly right...you should not have to put up with poor quality.

I laugh at our Robins. At the beginning of Spring, they are scurrying around finding a place to nest. The momma Robins are fat and ready to start their family. Then in the summer, they will followw my husband around the yard as he cuts grass. The fresh cut grass opens up the fresh worms and bugs.
That doughnut looks awesome!!!yum

Yummy donut there! Your robin is just lovely. I saw a few the other day on my way to check the mail. I don't think you are being fussy about the flooring. That is a very important part of house construction and you have go live with it for a long time. Get what you want! Have a blessed day.

That's one beautiful, plump donut! I do wish I had that bakery in our town too :) Sorry about the floors. It's important to have good quality flooring b/c it will take a lot of wear. It must remain solid and smooth for your own safety as you age. I'm glad you're not settling. Oh, and that pony is a cutie pie!
