Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Making choices

💙     💙
Was up and out the door walking a little before 7:00.
19 degrees and cloudy, but no wind and no snow falling.

Sure glad I had my ice grippers on over my snow sneakers because
it was very icy out there.

Just a few people shovel their sidewalks so I mainly stayed walking
around the cemeteries and the ball park loop.
Didn't see any others out walking.
Just walked 5 miles.  I figured I was lucky not to have
fallen on the ice and didn't want to press my luck.
Still it was good to be outside walking.  It is just not the
same doing laps in the house!! 😊
💙     💙
This morning we went to Lowe's and bought our bathroom vanities
for the new house.
Instead of having one long one with two sinks we bought two of the same,
one for Ken and one for me.
We also bought two matching cabinets for over the sinks.
Next stop was the floor place and picked out carpeting for our bedroom
and the second bedroom which will be our office.
Also picked out the vinyl flooring which will be in the bathroom
and laundry room.

Haven't made a final decision yet about the flooring in the kitchen,
dining area, and living room.  It will be hard wood flooring but still
comparing prices.
Of course I like the most expensive ones!!

After that it was lunch time and we had a bite to eat out.
Then to Walmart to do food shopping.
After unloading and putting the groceries away we went up to the house.
Ronnie is just about finished with the insulation.
This is the living room.
A few of the neighbor cows have gotten out a couple of times and have
come over to the house to see what is going on.
Ken was there one time and they were there again this morning.
Sorry to say I missed them both times.
Farmer Gene just comes over and rounds them up.
Hope they come over again sometime when I'm there.

It's been a busy day and now I'm off to get us some supper.

Life is Good
Count your blessings and have a happy day.

Hi Karen! The house is looking good! I like your idea of two vanities! They are pretty and so are the medicine cabinets!

Those vanity sinks look lovely and I can imagine them with the cabinets over the top of them, quite beautiful xx

I love to walk, but 19 degrees makes me unmotivated! lol Glad to hear that you are getting things together for the new house.

...a daily walk is a good thing, but not falling on the ice.

Picking items for the new house must be at once, exciting and difficult. The cabinets you chose look great.

So many decisions to make for a new house.

Sounds like a great idea to have to separate sink areas. Nice to have a neighborly welcoming party already!

Yes, that looks like it was very icy. Glad you took precautions! I have been trying to walk daily. I've missed a few days this week. No snow here. It's been unseasonably warm. I actually worked in the garden yesterday. Love your vanities and shelves. We recently did wood floor in 4 rooms in our home. I didnt look at all, just saw a floor I liked and ordered it. Its chiseled walnut. The wood installer told me that I picked the most expensive one. Of course, no surprise there! lol!
hugs,

The ice looks very traitorous, walking must be hard work. On the other hand, the cabinets look really lovely; happy time for you :)).

Nice to know your new neighbors are friendly. How cute that they wandered over to check things out. I am very interested in following along with your choices for the new house. I like your vanity and mirror picks. White always looks so fresh and clean to me.

The house is coming along nicely! I really like your choice of cabinets.
Glad you are keen to have your neighbours cows visiting. We are not so much. They are quite wild and do a lot of damage to our crops & fences. We wish he would keep his cattle to himself!

I think if we had crops for the cows to destroy we wouldn't be so happy to see them either!
Our neighbors cows seem to be gentle and just wonder over.

That's adorable that your neighborly cows want to see who's moving into the neighborhood!! :) Very sweet. The vanities and cabinets are lovely, and that living room already looks so cozy and warm and "buttoned-up." Progress! Be careful on that ice. I was in WV recently and stepped on a slick patch, and down I went in my mom's driveway. No harm done.
