Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Moving furniture

After the weather warm up yesterday all the snow and ice are gone.
It was 42 degrees this morning for walking, cloudy and no wind.
Yesterday sunrise was at 7:38 and today it was 7:37
so the mornings will finally start to be brighter
minute by minute.

Since there was no fear of ice I got to walk wherever I wanted.
First walked over to the library in a direct route and
put a book down the drop.

Then walked all around town.
Continued around the ball park, the lower cemetery

and lastly around the cemetery up the hill.
Even with the warm temperature and ice all gone
still didn't see any others out walking.
Nothing going on around town, all was quite.

☁️    🥾    ☁️

I had a strawberry sandwich for breakfast.
I bet not many people ever eat that for breakfast.🍓

Another load a laundry got done.
I can only do one load a day when I can't hang the clothes outside
because that's all that will fit on my drying rack.

Then I got started on getting things moved around in the living room.
Ginny you wonder how I move furniture.
We have hardwood floors so I just put small rugs or towels
under the furniture and just slide them around.
It is pretty easy.
I first take the draws out and remove items from the top of things.
I got everything in place where I wanted it by lunchtime
and after lunch worked on getting all the final touches done.

I feel like I'm in a new house!!

After all that it was nice to relax and knit.
Just 14 more rows to knit and I'll be finished with Dale's blanket.

And so ends another blog post.
Hope you had a wonderful Wednesday.

Oh, I wish you had before and after photos of the room! You are so clever about how you move furniture! Still, I would not even be able to lift a corner to slide the rug in. But I am old and have a bad back and knees. I always marvel at anyone who can do anything! A strawberry sandwich, how is that made? It is 60 degrees here today, can you believe it?

I move furniture the same way. I always love a new arrangement. It can really refresh a room.

I love moving furniture, everything feels new! But, our house is small so I don't have many options for it.
It's in the 40's here too, so crazy for Jan! However, we had so much snow that there's still quite a bit on the ground yet. It's supposed to snow again this weekend, so we'll see if it all melts before that.
Glad you got some good walking in!

Okay a strawberry sandwich? Is it strawberry jam between 2 sliced of bread?

Your strawberry sandwich for breakfast sounds interesting. Is it just sliced strawberries on bread? I'm intrigued.

It looks odd to not see ice or snow outside now and I am not complaing. Now I don't get scared out of my wits when the snow slides off the roof. lol

I've never had a strawberry sandwich before but it sounds tasty. I know what you mean about it feeling like you're in a new house after moving the furniture around. In my younger years I used to move everything around several times a year.

...Karen, I see that you January thaw did away with your snow. We have had as lot of melting, but there's still a lot of snow on the ground.

Hi Karen. Is your strawberry sandwich just strawberries on bread? Do you use a special kind of bread? I love bread and strawberry jam, so I'm sure that bread and strawberries would be good too! I love how you move your furniture around from time to time. Glad you had another good day. See you again tomorrow!

I see that I'm not the only one that wonders about your strawberry sandwich. I'm guessing it has cream cheese as well as the berries?

Is your strawberry sandwich just the fruit, or as jam? It sounds nice what ever it is.. and moving furniture round a room is a sure way to give it a good clean.

Very brave to move furniture yourself; although your method is ingenious. God bless.

Strawberry sandwich? What do you put on it other than strawberries and bread! Love rearranging rooms! It definitely makes it feel like a new house!

I always enjoyed re-doing a room, you're so right, it makes it seem like new!! Can't do much re-doing these but I manage to change the smaller items on occasion. What do you put on a strawberry sandwich besides strawberries? Nosey Rosie wants to know !! lol
