Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Strawberries, Book Club, and Puzzle

31 degrees this morning when I walked and it was calm.
Lots of stars twinkling at the house but once I got to
town it was foggy.
It was patchy though and I walked in and out of the fog.

The sun was around too which was welcomed.

Walked around the cemeteries, all around town and the ball park.
Nothing to report around town, all was quiet.

 🌤    🙂    🥾

🍓Lots of interest about my strawberry sandwich yesterday.
I put about 5 sliced fresh strawberries on a piece of bread,
sprinkle lightly with icing sugar and put the other piece of bread on top.
And there it is, a delicious sandwich.
My mom used to make me these sandwiches when I was a kid.🍓

Book club day at the library.
Since the meeting was cancelled last month because of the weather,
we discussed the book from December which was
The 13th Gift by Joanne Huist.
Every one liked it.
There were 10 of us there.
The book for next month is
The Comfort of Crows by Margaret Renkl.
Have reserved a copy from the library.

Got out the next puzzle to do.

Just 5 more rows to knit on Dale's blanket.
It should be finished this evening.

Happy Thursday and thanks for stopping by.

My husband reminded me we had a Japanese strawberry sandwich a few years ago in Japan town in San Francisco. They use a Japanese rice bread, whipped cream and strawberries. I totally forgot that - and here I'm envisioning strawberry jam. I bet you really loved that as a child. It sounds delicious but I'll have to wait when our strawberries here are in season. We have a couple more months.

PS when you say, "icing sugar" is that powered sugar or frosting? I'm not familiar with that. Thanks

HEY, I am reading The Comfort Of Crows NOW!!!! I am on page 100. It is the best book I have ever read. I'm going to look up her other books. I love the way you spread happiness by writing your little signs. Your third photo of the sun behind the trees and the golden mountains is gorgeous.

It was a pretty morning for your walk. We had sunshine this morning, but lots of clouds this afternoon.
I ate strawberry sandwiches as a kid. Need to have one again.
I have to check out The Comfort of Crows now.

Strawberry sandwiches sound easy enough to make!! Next time I have some berries I'll try that.
I just requested The Comfort of Crows from our library.

It will be wonderful when the ceiling is finished… it's always nice to complete something.
This little harbor town you're puzzle together looks idyllic.
Best regards and have a great day. Viola
