Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Deer in the dark

A frosty calm clear morning for walking and 37 degrees.
A nice clear sky to see millions of bright stars.
As I came to the stop street down from my house
I spotted the deer and her two fawns in my headlights
up in the field.

Got to town at 6:30 in the dark and walked up and down
and all around town under the street lights.
Then I went around the ball park loop a couple of times
and then around the cemetery on the hill a couple of times too.

Very quiet around town and didn't seen any one else out walking.
Even all the chickens were still in side and didn't come out to see me.

🎃    🍁    🍂

We went to church to pick up the trailer loaded with
the Roman's books we all put together.
Going tomorrow with it to Bedford, Pa.
Dropping them off and getting another pallet of scriptures.
Since we were in the area we did our food shopping
this week at Walmart.

Started out a nice sunny day but by the time we got home
and I put everything away it clouded up.
Got a little rain and then saw the sun again.
Putting all that food away made me hungry.
Glad it was lunch time by then.

Still knitting the two rows a day on the temperature blanket every day.
Knitted some more on the Christmas throw for David.

One of our favorite supers today.
Roasted Vegetables and Sausage.
Potatoes, Onions, Red Peppers, Carrots
Just put it in the oven a little bit ago and already it smells delicious.

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.

Melanie - The red leaves are sumac.  They really are a bright red but the lighting made them look more pink.

I always enjoy seeing deer - although yesterday I came within inches of hitting one that ran in front of me. That wasn't so enjoyable. :)
We had a weird weather day today - sunshine, rain, thunder, hail and more sunshine.
I need to make the roasted sausage and veggies again. It's always good.

Wow, that is too dark for me! You clearly live in a very safe area, and while I view my location as "somewhat" safe, I wouldn’t take the risk. We often get reports of women going missing. My imagination would run wild...and I'd freak myself out.

driving in the dark, I'm always afraid one of those deer are going to jump out in front of me.

Hi Karen. It sure is cold there in the morning. You are about ten degrees colder in the morning than we are. I am catching up on your posts, and I really love the picture of that house all decorated for fall. I'm with you on scary decorations. I much prefer pumpkins and cute little scarecrows. I hope you are having a good week.Safe travels to Bedford tomorrow! See you again soon!

I like seeing deer...just dont want them coming out at me while driving. I was so busy with my mom yesterday after work that when I came home just went to bed. Did not even eat dinner. Now its back to work again. Hope your daily walk is a nice once this morning. Janice

Great capture of the deer in the dark.
I love those dinners that spend some time in the oven tantalizing us with their delicious aromas.
