Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

ABC Friday

Didn't wake up this morning till 6:35 so didn't get to town till 7:00.
It was 47 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds.
Sunrise 7:15

As I was leaving my house I saw a couple of deer
walk up the side of the driveway.

First walked around the lower cemetery and then on my way
over to the ball park, mailed a card at the post office.

Continued around town and once back by the pond
walked around the other cemetery.

Kerry was out walking again and I saw her around the ball park.

I stopped in at the doctors office and made an appointment.
It's my turn for the annual checkup.
I go in a couple of weeks.
Very convenient being able to go right here in town.

🥾    🌤    🍁

I baked 4 dozen money cupcakes again this year.
They are for the kids at Sunday school.
They do this every year.
For those who don't know what money cupcakes are
you can read about them on a previous post
Also on that post are some pictures 0f our house being built.

D IS FOR DELIVERY

I delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years.
1994-2009

My route was #2 and I started out delivering the meals
every Wednesday and after a while added every other Friday as well.
We delivered 2 meals, a hot one, and a bag one.
We had hot boxes to keep the meals hot and coolers for the bag meals.
I ended up being the leader for my route, which just means
that I was responsible for making sure every day was covered.
If I couldn't find a substitute I'd just go myself.

I met so many wonderful people and found I was blessed just
as much or more as the people getting the meals.
Oh, the stories I could tell, I could write a book.
Here is one story about Mrs. Huffman.
She was a cranky old woman who never would smile or say thank you.
I made it my goal to get her to smile.
It took me a while but she did end up smiling, saying thank you
and even telling me jokes.
I delivered meals to her for some years.
One day I went there and noticed she wasn't eating the meals
and just putting them in the refrigerator.
She didn't seem right and when I got back to the kitchen
told them that someone should check on Mrs Huffman.
Someone went around and sorry to say that she had died.
I was the last person to see her alive.
I'm glad I was able to get her to smile and had given her a hug
that day.

 Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you had a fantastic day.

I forgot to post this picture yesterday.
It was hanging in the doctors office.
