Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Sunday

Happy Sunday
Sure was nice to get outside this morning and go for my walk.

📖 Psalm 121 📖

1. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.

2. My help cometh from the LORD,
which made heaven and earth.

3. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5. The LORD is thy keeper:
the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6. The sun shall not smite thee by day,
nor the moon by night.

7. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.

8. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

 A Blessed Sunday to you.

Last day of rest

This is my last day of rest.
Tomorrow I'm walking!

Feeling pretty good, just have a nagging cough.

Usually I would be at the library knitting on a Saturday morning,
but home today so I don't make anyone else sick.

I did a few things around the house today and got a load of
laundry hung out on the line.

I got to get out of the house today.
It was just going to the dump but was nice to get out.
We went for a little ride and had a burger (drive thru) for lunch
while we were out.

Not a cloud in the sky this afternoon.

David gave me this plant for my birthday back in May and it has
been blooming ever since.
Only one or two blooms at a time but constantly.

Well, that's going to be it for today.
Looking forward to walking again tomorrow!!

Hope you had an enjoyable Saturday.
Thanks for stopping by.

Friday

 A picture from yesterday

Another day Ken went off to Fingerprints alone.
When he left he made me promise that I would NOT go walking but to REST.

I'm feeling somewhat better today and on the mend.
I've been drinking lots of tea with honey.

I did try to rest.

I decided to go through all my kitting patterns and get them in order.
I threw out some that I knew I would never make.
Now they are all in a binder and much neater.

Haven't done too much of anything else.

Thanks again for all the well wishes.
Hope your had a great Friday.

A cold

Not feeling tip top today and skipped my morning walk.
I just have a cold and hopefully I'll feel good again in a couple of days.
I can't remember the last time I had a cold.
Ken went to Fingerprints alone.
I really wanted to go but didn't want to give anyone my cold.
Also I would have been exhausted at the end of the day.

By late morning I got tired of sitting around the house.
It was a nice sunny day and 67 degrees so decided to go to town
for a short walk.

Walked around by the cemeteries.

The bulls must have been warm because they were under the tree in the shade.

After only walking 5 thousand steps I was getting tired
so headed back to the Jeep.

Stopped here by the lake to listen to the church bells play a couple of hymns.
Every day at 12:00 that happens.

Came home, had some lunch and now I'm just going to take it easy
this afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks. for the well wishes.

Molasses Cookies

44 degrees this morning when I started walking and sunny.
49 degrees when I got back to the Jeep.
Sunrise 6:41

Didn't see anyone else out around town this morning.

Walked all around town and then over to the ball park and walked
around there a couple. of times.
More around town and then up to the one cemetery.
Walk was over before I got to walk around the other cemetery.

Oh no, look what I saw already.
There were only a few on the ground now but it won't be long
before the green of summer will be gone.
I know many of you are looking forward to Fall but not me.
I'm wanting summer a little bit longer. :)

🌻    ☀️    🥾

Ken and I were talking about molasses cookies yesterday
so I baked some today.

Didn't do much of anything else today.
Have a bit of a sore throat and not much energy.
Sat out back on the deck in the sunshine and watched the deer.
The high today was 64 degrees.

Sure hope I feel fine in the morning because tomorrow and
Friday are Fingerprint work days at church.

Not going to church this evening.
Don't want to pass my germs around.

Hope your Wednesday was a happy one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Sweatshirt Walking Weather

 Sweatshirt walking weather this morning.
49 degrees with sun and clouds.
Great walking weather.
Sunrise 6:40.

Started my walk going through town and up and down a
few side streets as I made my way over to the DG Market.
Then headed over to the ball park.

The lines have been painted on the Pickle Ball court.
Now for the net to be put in.
Things take a while around here sometimes!

Continued on to the cemeteries and walked around both of them.

Lena was coming down from the cemetery as I was going up.
Stopped for a little chat.
At the cemetery Rebecca was walking Leo.

We all mentioned how nice the weather was for walking.

🌤    🥾    🌻

We didn't need much from Walmart this week so we went
to the Shop n Save instead.
They had stuff on sale that we needed and we got some good deals.
We left the store and only spent $38 and had quite a bit.
Now a days that is good.
Tuesdays are good for seniors because we get 15% off
and points to get money off gas per gallon.

I mentioned the Shop n Save from time to time so took a picture.

Got some more windows washed and a did a few other house chores.

Had some wire shelves from the garage that Ken didn't want anymore
so I took and cleaned them up.
Put them in my craft closet and stacked up all my yarn on them.
I had yarn in a few different places and now I have them
all in one place and can see what I have at a glance.
Much better!!

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your Tuesday was a happy one.

🐻A few people mentioned the bear from yesterday.  Really nothing to be afraid of the bears here. Our 21 acres backs up on to thousands of acres of state forrest.  The bears aren't used to people and as soon as they see you they run away.  I'd rather see a bear walking around than a stray dog!!

Bear

58 degrees this morning with a mix of sun and clouds for walking.
No wind and sunrise was at 6:39.

Started my walk
Started my walk going around both of the cemeteries.

Walked over to the long barn.
The Speckled Park cows are now in the pasture behind the barn.
Not such a great picture but there they are.

A young one is still in the barn.
Farmer Marvin will keep cows in the barn now if he is keeping
an eye on them for some reason.
Maybe sick or doesn't get along with the others.

Leaving the barn and walking back to the cemetery.

Continued over to the ball park and then around town.

John was out walking Prim and Sheila was running around town.

It sure was a nice morning for walking.

🐄    🌤    🚶‍♀️    🙂

Got the sheets washed and hung out on the line.
They were dried right quick and back on the bed.

Time to get the windows washed again.
Started with the two big windows in the corner of living room.
A good time to move the furniture out of the corner too and
give that area a good cleaning.

After lunch had time for fun stuff.

The bear was out back of our house and we got a good video
of it the game camera.

That's it for today.
Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by.

Sunday

Happy Sunday

This is a sunset from my front porch.
The trees have grown so you can't see much of the sky anymore.
I'll have to walk down to the end of the driveway for better pictures.

A Lifetime Of Assurance
was the title of Pastor's message this morning at church
based on these Bible verses.

📖 Hebrews 13:5-6 📖

 Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content with such things as ye have:
for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So that we may boldly say,
The Lord is my helper,
and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

A Blessed Sunday to you.

A Sunshiny Day

This morning there was a mix of sun and clouds when I walked.
The temperature was 63 degrees and calm.

Today I saw Lena walking and we stopped to talk and
later saw Sheila run past me.

I first walked around the lower cemetery and then up to
the other cemetery.
I walk up the hill with corn growing on both sides.

Walked around town and then around the ball park loop.

The pickle ball court is still not ready for playing.
They have now painted blue and green over the red that it was painted.
Still needs the lines and a net.

Continued walking around town some more and past my old house.
Through town and down toward home before turning around and
getting back to the pond.

I spotted an old porch swing in all these weeds.

Some pretty red petunias by a mailbox I walked passed.
It must make Tonya, the letter carrier smile each day.

Another delightful walk.

🌤    🌻    🚶‍♀️

It's Saturday again and time for some needlework to get done
at the library.

Four of us regulars were there and we had two more people
join us this time who said they would be back next week.
Our little group keeps getting bigger.
If everyone shows up one week we might run out of chairs.🙂

Today we didn't just have a sunny afternoon but a whole day of sunshine.

Another afternoon to sit out on the front porch.

That's all for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your Saturday was a happy one.

Sunny afternoon

62 degrees, cloudy, and calm this morning when I walked.

Walked down the main road in town and up and down some side streets.
Next went around the ball park loop and around town some more.
That left me to walk around both of the cemeteries.

Anna and her dad were out walking.
They usually just walk around the ball park but this time they
were up at the cemeteries.

Saw one other person walking but they were too far away
for me to see who it was.

Sorry, no walking pictures this time.
Nothing caught my eye today
but it was still nice to be out walking!!

☁️    🌸    🌼    🥾

Made another big batch of pancakes.
Some for todays breakfast and some to freeze.

Cloudy all morning but by afternoon the sun was shining.
Afternoon high temperature 76.

Did house stuff in the morning.
Afternoon for knitting and reading..

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your Friday was a great one.

Blankets

A cloudy walk around town this morning.
64 degrees and calm.
Sunrise 6:35

Rebecca was out walking too and saw her two different times.

First walked over to the library and dropped a book down the slot.
Then continued around town and went to the ball park
Walked around there a couple of times.

The chickens were scattered all over the yard.
The little ones sure are growing fast.

Walked some more around town and then both of the cemeteries.

That ended my walk.

🚶‍♀️    ☁️    🥾

Blanket Day this morning so drove to church right after breakfast.
Not calling it Blankets for Babies because we make them for
the nursing homes now too.
When we couldn't bring the blankets to the hospital for the babies
anymore we started bringing them right to the doctors office.
That worked fine in the beginning but doesn't seem to be working anymore.
They don't seem to be getting handed out and we have LOTS of blankets.
One of the ladies will be looking into the problem.

So for now we are concentrating on the seniors.
Blankets are bigger of course and it would take 140 weave-it squares
for me to make a bigger blanket.
It would take me too long to make them.
Also being made are pillows so I'm going to try to make
a pillow out of weave-its.

This afternoon after lunch I made some macaroni salad.
David is coming over after work to have supper with us.
Having hamburgers with the salad.
Liz is in Florida visiting her daughter.

Watched the deer wander around out back.
A mama and twins.

That's all I have for today.
Thanks for stopping by
and hope your Thursday was a great one.

Gravel Delivery

62 degrees and cloudy this morning when I walked.
Only a couple peeks of blue sky.

Started walking going back down the road I just drove up.

Turned around about a 1/2 down and walked back to town and straight through it.

Continued on over to the Industrial Park and walked around there.
This is the entrance.

Walked back through town and once around one of the cemeteries.
KitCat was around by the cemetery but his attention was on something
in the weeds and didn't even look at me.

Sheila was around town running again.

☁️    🌸    🥾    🚶‍♀️

When I got back to the house from walking Ken was outside
waiting for a truck load of gravel to be delivered in a few minutes.
I stayed out too and while waiting took a couple pictures.

I like how Aaron spread the hay around the pasture for the cows.
It looks like a path.

This is the barn looking left from my driveway.

Got a few pictures of the truck bringing the gravel and made a mosaic.
Fun to watch!!!

We usually take our dump trailer to get gravel but getting all this gravel
would have taken many trips and was cheaper to just pay the
delivery charge.
We got 22 tons.
Our trailer can carry about 2 1/2 tons.
Will use the gravel for various places including David and Liz's driveway.

I did a load of laundry thinking the sun was going to come out.
But it started raining before the clothes were even done getting washed.
so had to put the clothes on the drying rack inside.

Did a little more weekly cleaning.
Read and also made time for knitting.

We finally got some nice red tomatoes from our little garden
and will make BLT's for supper.
I'm off to do that now.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hope your Wednesday was delightful.

Tuesday

62 degrees this morning and cloudy for my morning walk.
Sunrise 6:33

Walked first around both of the cemeteries.

Then went down the main road toward home,
turned around and walked back to town.

Continued walking through town

and up and down the side streets.

Not much happening around town.
Seemed like a Sunday!!

On the way home I saw a whole bunch of Goldfinches when
I turned in at my road.

☁️    🌻    🚶‍♀️

Time to get the oil changed on the Jeep.
We usually go to the garage/dealer right in town
but this time just went to JiffyLube
which is just past Walmart.
We were in and out in about 15 minutes.
Nice just pulling in and getting it done without having to drop
the car off and then pick it up again.

From there we went food shopping at Walmart.
Didn't need much so were in and out there fast too.

Home to get a few more things done around the house.

Blankets for Babies is this Thursday and there was no one
had volunteered to do the devotions yet so I said I would.
I spent some time today getting that ready.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your Tuesday was a great one.

Farm Loop

A cloudy walk for me this morning and 64 degrees.
Sunrise 6:32

Took my walking stick with me and walked the Farm Loop.
I like having my stick with me when I'm out of town just in case
I run into some kind of unfriendly animal.

I stopped to say hi to the donkeys.
Called to them and one by one they came over to me.

Left them and continued walking around the Loop.

Saw a few deer running about but didn't get any pictures.
George was driving by and stopped to say hi.
Walked around by the school and then back to the pond.
When I got back to the Jeep Sheila was just getting there
and we stopped to talk for about 10 minutes before I left for home.

☁️    🫏    🚶‍♀️    🤗

French toast for breakfast this morning.
Sheets got washed and hung out to dry.
Got the weekly housework started.
Moved a few things around.

This afternoon I sat on the porch a while
watching the deer.
Got some reading and knitting done too.
Work in the morning, fun in the afternoon.

Thanks for stopping by and
hope your Monday was enjoyable.

Sunday

Happy Sunday

I John 4:8
He that loveth not knoweth not God:
for God is love

💒    💒

What can separate us from the love of God?
Nothing on earth, beneath or above.

What greater love has this world seen?
None greater than from Jesus, the Nazarene.

To say that you love God, and say it true,
Is indeed an honorable goal for me and you.

But, to say you love God, and not walk it too,
Can cause your neighbor to stumble, that's also true!

Little ones that listen to your every word,
Will mold their lives from what they've heard.

So always take care in what you say and do,
Remember, that it was Jesus who first loved you.

And, be not like the Pharisees, in days of old,
Who were religious, but with hearts, oh, so cold.

💒    💒

Romans 8:38-39

 For I am persuaded,
that neither death,
nor life,
nor angels,
nor principalities,
nor powers,
nor things present,
 nor things to come,

 Nor height,
nor depth,
nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A Blessed Sunday to you.

Green Shawl

When I got to town this morning the street lights were just turning off.
It was 63 degrees and a little foggy again but the sun wasn't far behind.
Sunrise 6:30

Walked up the hill to the school this time.

Across the street from the school is a farm pond.

Walked around the school and stopped to see the four sheep
that live here.

This one thought I had food and jumped up to see if I had any.

Went back down to town and continued over to the ball park and walked
around there a couple of time.
Continued on around town till I had all my steps in,
then headed back to the Jeep.

Very quiet around town early this Saturday morning
and didn't see any one else around.

☁️    🌤    🐑

Went to the library this morning for Needleworks.
People must have been busy today because only 4 of us were there
and one had to leave early.
Numbers don't matter though when you're with friends.

This is the green shawl I'm working on.
It is 22 inches wide.
When it's done it will be 60 inches long
but now it is only 16 inches.

This afternoon Ken was outside playing on his tractor
and I was doing some more weeding.

It was a nice sunny day but warm when working.
So afterwards we sat on the porch having a drink and cooling off.

A good day and for that I am thankful.
Hope you enjoyed your Saturday.
Thanks for stopping by.

Deb - The dump is about 5 miles or so from our house.  There are three in the area.
They are pick up refuse centers and the dumpsters get picked up and taken to the main dump which I'm not exactly sure where it is.  We have no set time we go and  go whenever we need to.

Mari - We don't have trash pickup at our house because we are too rural so have to go to the dump.  It costs $75 dollars for the whole year and no limit to the times you can go.
