Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Sunny afternoon

62 degrees, cloudy, and calm this morning when I walked.

Walked down the main road in town and up and down some side streets.
Next went around the ball park loop and around town some more.
That left me to walk around both of the cemeteries.

Anna and her dad were out walking.
They usually just walk around the ball park but this time they
were up at the cemeteries.

Saw one other person walking but they were too far away
for me to see who it was.

Sorry, no walking pictures this time.
Nothing caught my eye today
but it was still nice to be out walking!!

☁️    🌸    🌼    🥾

Made another big batch of pancakes.
Some for todays breakfast and some to freeze.

Cloudy all morning but by afternoon the sun was shining.
Afternoon high temperature 76.

Did house stuff in the morning.
Afternoon for knitting and reading..

That's it for today.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope your Friday was a great one.

The sun does not shine for a few trees and flowers,
but for the wide world's joy.

Thanks for all the comments with suggests of what to do with the blankets.  Some have already been checked out.  You would be surprised how many places say they don't need them.

I wonder why these places no longer need beautiful handmade blankets? Doesn’t make much sense. 🤷‍♀️

I just thought of homeless shelters might take in blankets. And knitted caps too. I looked it up and found that many places are no longer accepting these handmade items due to safety, sanitation, and infection control concerns. They don’t hold up when they put them through their sanitation-laundry process. For infants it’s the fear of Sudden Infant death and knitted blankets.

Homeless shelters would take the blankets, I am sure. If not, perhaps a seniors residence.

That's really sad about the blankets. I hope that a solution can be found.

Hi Karen, I just saw Debby's comment as to why many places are not taking knitted or crocheted items. I bet they would take items made out of cotton and that are made on a sewing machine. These can be washed and since it is material and not wool, they would take them.
Perhaps the SPCA or animal shelter would take them...to provide comfort to an animal and, then use it only once and discard it for health reasons? This way it could be used but once, which is better than not at all.

I am referring to the knitted or crocheted blankets.

It's so sad that places are not taking the blankets.

I'm the only one who makes the blankets from yarn and it is washable. The others make them out of 2 pieces of fleece tied together.

I like the photograph on your post.

All the best Jan

Those tied together ones might be the issue especially for infants.
