Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Rhubarb

Walked in the sunshine this morning.
48 degrees and calm.
Sunrise 6:09

First walked around the cemetery on the hill.
Then down the main road toward home and back to town.
Continued around the other cemetery, around town, and the ball park loop.

Future dandelions

Saw a woman just as I was parking the Jeep at the pond.
She was gone by the time I got out of the Jeep and never
saw her again.

Pretty quiet this morning but it sure was nice to
be out walking and watching a new day begin.

🙂    ☀️    🌷

I came home last night from church with my rhubarb
that Rachael gave me.
I thanked her profusely!
Look at it all.

I made Rhubarb Bread Pudding today.
The rest I cut up in pieces and put in bags of 4 cups each
to use other days.
Kept one in the refrigerator and the others in the freezer.
It is enough rhubarb for 5 recipes.

I texted Rachel to thank her and she texted back,
Let me know when you want more, we have lots and don't eat it.
Told her I'd take more any time, so I'm getting more on Sunday.

We went food shopping at Walmart this morning.
Happy to say I remembered to bring the cloth bags!!!

One of the men doing the paving yesterday asked who made the
'brush fence'.
I like that name for my fence better than natural fence
so I'll be referring to it as a Brush Fence.

Supper tonight was
Meatloaf
Baked Potatoes
Beets

Hope you had a great Thursday.
Thanks for stopping by.
🙂HappyK❤️

Deb - No, the big garage isn't ours, it is on my walking route.

I think I’ve mentioned before that we would be fined if we had a “brush” fence. It is considered kindling. We live in a zone marked extreme/ high fire. Can’t have wood chips either. We have to create fire blocks such as rocks. Now they want us to cut bushes and trees that are less than 5 feet from the house and trees can’t be less than 5 feet from each other. And to cover our gutters. Well we love our beautiful trees and they’ll have to fine us then. So much fun. 👎🏻

The long shadow post is such a pretty shade of blue. Would you believe I have never eaten Rhubarb...

How generous of your friend to share her rhubarb. I have never made rhubarb bread pudding but that's a great idea!! I'm glad the recipe is right there on your kitchen blog.

Hello,
Love the shadow shot! I have never tried Rhuburb.
Brush fence is a good name for your natural fence.
The meatloaf dinner sounds yummy.
Take care, happy Friday! Have a great Mother's Day weekend!

I like the name Brush fence too! My mom used to make rhubarb pie and I remember loving it even though I have never made it myself. She used to make rhubarb sauce, too,

I have never made anything with rhubarb. I've had it in strawberry rhubarb pie though.
Meatloaf sounds good. I haven't had that in a while.

If you lived closer I'd give you all the rhubarb you would want! :) Maybe I'll be inspired to make something today with some. I like that name, too, brush fence. Happy Friday to you!

Brush Fence is the perfect name for your fence. I have been picking up lots of brush lately; guess I need a fence of my own.
