Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Paving

50 degrees this morning when I walked under cloudy skies.
Walked all over town first with another stop at the library
to drop off a book and a DVD.
Then around the ball park loop and one of the cemeteries.

Quiet around town this morning and didn't see anyone else out.

Two groups of chickens were huddled together.
I looked up why they huddle.
For warmth or they feel threatened.
Since it wasn't cold maybe they saw a hawk or something.

Work continues on the big garage even if slow.

☁️    🌷    🙂

Big new today is that we got the top part of our driveway by the
garage doors paved.

Workmen and equipment showed up just as we
were finishing breakfast.
They were here for about 4 hours and we were outside the whole
time watching them work.
We had a great view from the porch.
It was interesting to watch the whole process.
Very pleased with the workers and the work that was done.

They smoothed out and leveled the stone and got it ready for the black top.

Lots of equipment each with a specific job.

Here is the finished driveway.
Can't drive on it for a day or two till it cools all the way.
The material comes out of the machine at 350 degrees!

Having this part paved will sure be nice in the winter for when Ken
gets rid of the snow with the tractor.
Also makes it nicer for washing the cars.
We've wanted to do this for the last few years and finally got around to it.

Leaving in a little while for church and I'll stop at the library on the way.
This is the one day the library is open in the evening.
I have 3 books to pick up and 2 DVD's.
Someone at church texted asking if anyone would like any rhubarb.
Me and someone else said yes, so I'll be coming home with rhubarb later.

That's it for todays post.
Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.

I was interested to know about the chickens, thank you!! Your driveway is lovely! We still have a gravel driveway and wish we could have it paved! I can imagine how much fun it was to watch.

Some day we will redo our cement drive. Not this year though. Glad you were able to get yours done. Ken will like it for sure in the Winter. Janice
