Happy Sunday
A sunset from last week.
Think of Bible reading as a walk in the woods.
First, some would never consider going for a walk in the woods.
I don't have time.
There is too much in the woods that I don't understand.
I don't feel like it.
The woods? No, never
Some, decide to walk in the woods but go as fast as they can.
They only slow down to see their favorite flower, or hear a bird or watch a deer.
They go rushing off and miss seeing the beauty all around them.
Thirdly there are those who take their time and walk.
They even slow down or stop to listen to all the sounds around them.
They notice the fresh air and fragrance of the flowers.
You are not in a hurry when you enjoy the walk.
Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica,
in that they received the word with all readiness of mind,
and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
II Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.
A Blessed Sunday to all.

Ginny - Yes, the boots fit me.
Dianna - The two young girls who used to come don't any more but there is another girl who comes with her mom and like yesterday when her mom had things to do she dropped her off. She does embroidery and does a fantastic job!

I love this analogy, it is totally cool!!
Karen,
I don’t stop by and leave comments nearly as often as I should. As I’ve told you before, you are an inspiration. Consider how many people you may have inspired to get started on a walk routine and those folks are enjoying life and feeling good thanks to the walks. While looking at today’s post I also noticed some links near the bottom of the page … one goes to Walking Post from 2010. I clicked on the link and enjoyed that post too. 😊 That’s been 15 years ago, and, I believe, just a year or two before I discovered Life Is Good. Thanks for sharing your blog and God bless you!

...after seeing your sky, this is a beautiful day!
Hi Karen. I love that metaphor comparing reading scripture to walking through the woods. I agree with the comment by John's Island. You have inspired many with your upbeat posts and daily walks. l know that you continue to inspire me. See you again soon! Enjoy your Sunday.
What a great comparison of scripture reading to a walk through the woods! Always enjoy your posts, especially the Sunday ones. Blessings . . .
Such a beautiful sky.
Such a gorgeous sky to start your post.
I appreciated your analogy of walking to reading the scripture. Our message this morning was on the value of the Word.
Oh I like the analogy of studying the word. Just an hour before I finished this weeks study Revelation 19 and just read in verses 11-13
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.
I truly wish more would open up the Word and get to know Jesus.
What a gorgeous sunset that is.
What a wonderful way to look at reading the bible.
Lovely sky!
Such a beautiful sky.
All the best Jan
Karen, what a lovely post today. I enjoyed the comparison of walking in the woods and reading our Bibles. And I have also been enjoying the little pictures you have been doing at the end of each post. Today's Scripture that is pictured over the church was the favorite verse of a pastor we had several years ago.
Thank you for answering my question. The girl who is coming now is being surrounded by wise and encouraging ladies.
