Our winter weather continues . . . . .
Inside walking again.
Didn't have to go to blankets for babies because it was
cancelled because of the snow.
I did finish the blanket for this month though and
you can see how it turned out if your care to look
HERE.
I'll either bring it with me to church or just wait until next month
and bring 2 blankets.
We went out this morning anyway and went to Walmart.
Before getting the food, walked around the rest of the store.
I don't have a sewing machine and I'm thinking about learning how
to sew quilt squares and making simple table runners.
My Needlework friends said that a Brother was a good machine to start with.
Looked at sewing machines and a simple Brother machine was only $88.
Didn't buy it today but probably will.
For that price it is a good one to learn on.
Also came across these candles.
I don't like fruity scents but love this fresh pine scent so picked
up three of them on sale.
They have a nice strong scent and I can smell them even without lighting it.
It was a pretty easy one.
I wouldn't mind living there.
Hope everyone enjoyed their day.
Thanks for stopping by.

I have a Brother sewing machine and it does really well. The scene in your completed puzzle makes me homesick for where I grew up. Such a serene looking place. Love both the quotes at the end.
Your blanket turned out wonderful. And did your puzzle. Happy Thursday to you!!
It was snowing and slippery here today too.
I like your finished blanket! Like you, I could live in that puzzle scene.
Great quotes! I don't always like the cold and snow, but it is beautiful and I so appreciate changing seasons.
It’s great that you were able to finish the blanket for this month – that’s such a thoughtful and meaningful project. The idea of learning to sew quilt squares and making table runners sounds fantastic, and starting with a simple Brother machine seems like a great plan! It's awesome that you found a good deal on it.
Also, those fresh pine-scented candles sound perfect for adding a warm, comforting touch to your home. I hope the rest of your weekend is full of relaxation and creativity. 😊
And don’t forget to check out my latest post at www.melodyjacob.com. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!
Learning to sew simple projects is a great idea!! I passed my sewing machine on to my eldest but through the years I sewed only small...very small...projects. I can't say that I enjoyed it; it was not "my thing".
The blanket is pretty in shades of blue. Someone will treasure it I'm sure.
A book you might enjoy is "Hannah Coulter" by Wendell Berry. A little sad but the writing is incredible and it's a great story. I just finished it for this month's bookgroup and now I want to read others he's written.
I also LOVE Simply Soft yarn, I use it for all the blankets I knit or crochet.
...indeed winter can crimp you style, but will arrive!
Quoted one of my most favorite authors. John Steinbeck! Beautiful and so true. Like the leaves that fall in Autumn and some complain about the fallen leaves, never considering those leaves shaded us from the hot sun.
Wow on the brother sewing machine for $88. I have 2 sewing machines - one is a Kenmore and the other belonged to my mom. That one has all the bells and whistles. I also have a small sewing machine that is good for smaller projects and crafts.
I don’t like fruity scented candle’s either.
Your quotes are so true! The blanket is lovely! I have heard the Brother is a good sewing machine brand!
I have a Brother sewing machine that also does embroidery. With all the electronics on it, it didn't last long. I went back to using my good old reliable Kenmore that was bought back in the early 80's. $88 is a good price though for a basic machine.
Hello,
Your blanket is pretty, well done! Love the puzzle picture.
I am hoping the weather warms up some, it has been too cold.
Take care, Happy Friday! Wishing you a great weekend.
What a great puzzle!
The jigsaw puzzle looks great, but where's the pizza?
God bless.
That puzzle reminds me of a place i know in Vermont!
We are finally getting some snow this morning!! here in eastern New York we have not had more than 2 inches at any one time. We're thankful for that but I miss a "real" winter like when I lived in western NY by Lake Ontario. I love how the snow makes everything sparkly when the sun shines on it. I too am doing indoor walking videos and some new to me yoga stretching videos. Mainly because it's been bitterly cold here and so windy for outdoor power walking.
Happy Winter!!
What a nice puzzle and you finished it fast. I like your blanket, it's beautiful.
I like that puzzle. I am currently working on one that will take me a long time.It is difficult.
You really do need a sewing machine!
I like the finished blanket. Glad you can still get out and about so you don't get cabin fever! :) We are having a very cold start to our day here but still no significant snow. Fun puzzle.
Hi Karen. I have sewing machine and can sew a little. I think a sewing machine is a very useful thing to have. I use mine mostly to hem my pants (I am short) but some day when I retire, I would like to try quilting. I love the puzzle. We are supposed to get more snow here starting late tonight. See you again tomorrow.
I'm not an expert but I believe Brother sewing machine's have a very good name and reputation.
All the best Jan
That seems like a great price for a sewing machine. I am not sure I have the patience for sewing, but I hope you will keep us up to date on your sewing adventures.
