Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Winter Continues . . . .

 Our winter weather continues . . . . .
Inside walking again.

Didn't have to go to blankets for babies because it was
cancelled because of the snow.
I did finish the blanket for this month though and
you can see how it turned out if your care to look

I'll either bring it with me to church or just wait until next month
and bring 2 blankets.

We went out this morning anyway and went to Walmart.
Before getting the food, walked around the rest of the store.
I don't have a sewing machine and I'm thinking about learning how
to sew quilt squares and making simple table runners.
My Needlework friends said that a Brother was a good machine to start with.
Looked at sewing machines and a simple Brother machine was only $88.
Didn't buy it today but probably will.
For that price it is a good one to learn on.

Also came across these candles.
I don't like fruity scents but love this fresh pine scent so picked
up three of them on sale.
They have a nice strong scent and I can smell them even without lighting it.

Finished the puzzle.
It was a pretty easy one.
I wouldn't mind living there.

Couldn't wait for tomorrow for our pizza so made it for supper today.

Hope everyone enjoyed their day.
Thanks for stopping by.

I have a Brother sewing machine and it does really well. The scene in your completed puzzle makes me homesick for where I grew up. Such a serene looking place. Love both the quotes at the end.

It was snowing and slippery here today too.
I like your finished blanket! Like you, I could live in that puzzle scene.
Great quotes! I don't always like the cold and snow, but it is beautiful and I so appreciate changing seasons.

It’s great that you were able to finish the blanket for this month – that’s such a thoughtful and meaningful project. The idea of learning to sew quilt squares and making table runners sounds fantastic, and starting with a simple Brother machine seems like a great plan! It's awesome that you found a good deal on it.

Also, those fresh pine-scented candles sound perfect for adding a warm, comforting touch to your home. I hope the rest of your weekend is full of relaxation and creativity. 😊

And don’t forget to check out my latest post at www.melodyjacob.com. Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!

Learning to sew simple projects is a great idea!! I passed my sewing machine on to my eldest but through the years I sewed only small...very small...projects. I can't say that I enjoyed it; it was not "my thing".
The blanket is pretty in shades of blue. Someone will treasure it I'm sure.

A book you might enjoy is "Hannah Coulter" by Wendell Berry. A little sad but the writing is incredible and it's a great story. I just finished it for this month's bookgroup and now I want to read others he's written.
I also LOVE Simply Soft yarn, I use it for all the blankets I knit or crochet.

...indeed winter can crimp you style, but will arrive!

Quoted one of my most favorite authors. John Steinbeck! Beautiful and so true. Like the leaves that fall in Autumn and some complain about the fallen leaves, never considering those leaves shaded us from the hot sun.

Wow on the brother sewing machine for $88. I have 2 sewing machines - one is a Kenmore and the other belonged to my mom. That one has all the bells and whistles. I also have a small sewing machine that is good for smaller projects and crafts.

I don’t like fruity scented candle’s either.
