Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

More of the white cabinet

Once again this morning it was only 4 degrees F.
Too cold to go walking so it was another inside walk for me.
Today it was cloudy with show showers on and off all day
and more snow on the way tonight.

For breakfast Ken made us cheese and egg omelets.

I didn't show the inside of the white cabinet yesterday so doing that today.
I wanted to put something on the shelves but didn't want to use contact paper.
Found some old placemats in the drawer and used them.

Blankets for Babies has already been cancelled for tomorrow.
I have another row to sew together and will do that tonight
though it doesn't really matter now.

We went to the library just to get out of the house.
Came home with a couple of DVD's
and 2 books for me.
Started reading one of them and I realized I had already read it.
Same thing with the second book.
Have a couple books on reserve and will read one of my own books
till they come in.

The puzzle got worked on a bit and did the basic house chores.

We couldn't decide on what to cook for supper so we
had a fend night.
Ken had left overs and I had beans on toast.

That's all I have for today.
Hope your Wednesday was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by.

Dianna - Yes, you spotted the Longaberger baskets. One of my cousins used to sell them and I got some good deals.  My mother also had some and when she died I got hers.
Sandi - You asked, How do you think things would be different if you had never taken up walking?
I can't imagine not walking!! but if I didn't I would be overweight, unhealthy, wouldn't have met and come to know all the people in town, and wouldn't be blogging.

An omelette with cheese sounds a good way to start the day.

All the best Jan

You are experiencing some very cold weather. That's a great idea to put place mats down to line the shelves. A fend night happens here, too, sometimes. Today was a busy day for me outside the home!

Ken must be a pretty good cook. We have the same weather here. What a grand idea about the placemats, and they fit the shelves perfectly! I like what you put inside; they are things that need showing off.

Hi Karen. I love what you have done with the white cabinet! Charly and I have "fend" nights quite often when we have leftovers in the fridge. Sure is cold there. I hope it warms up so you can walk outside again!

You've sure had a stretch of weather. I hope it improves so you can go back to your regular routine.
I really like what you did with that cabinet. The dishes and bowls look so nice in it!

I agree with what you put in your answer to Sandi's question. I'd be so disappointed if I had to quit walking for some health issue.
I hope your temperatures warm up soon.

The cabinet is darling. When we have fen night, he usually eats leftovers and I make breakfast for supper.

Sounds like you have the same weather we do. It snowed most of the day yesterday and it's snowing again this morning.
I like the placemats on the shelves. They look really nice.
I had eggs for dinner last night.

I love your white cabinet with the placements.
I walk but not like I used to and it saddens me. I used to be a runner - but had a fall and injured my left knee. I had to have replacement surgery to be able to walk without pain. For about a year I had to use a cane - Much too young to be hobbling around like that. Friends kept telling me not to get surgery but I just wasn’t ready to be an invalid. Mobility is important as we age. I wouldn’t be surprised if I’ll have to have the other knee done. If it keeps me from using a cane, walker or wheelchair, I’ll be doing it. Running is addicting. The pounding on my knees, hips did me in. Bottomline, I’m not done yet!

Hello Karen! I like what you have done with the white cabinet. I think I may have spotted some Polish Pottery? The colors show up so lovely against the white cabinet.

Longaberger baskets are so pretty...and durable. What a blessing to have your mom's as well as the ones you've collected yourself.
