Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Outside

Put all my layers on this morning and went to town to walk.
It was 19 degrees, a little windy with some snow flurries flying around.
I was prepared to come back home if it wasn't good for walking.
Though I couldn't walk everywhere there were enough places I found to walk.

The town pond is frozen solid.

I walked a little ways up the main road in town but stayed mainly around the cemeteries.

These young bulls were in the barn yard down by the Drane house

and the cows are keeping warm in the long barn.

Not too much going on around town on this cold Tuesday morning.

Rebecca was out walking but was too far away to say hi.

Morning Walk Steps 10,600

🌨    ☁️    ⛄️    🙂

Baked the last batch of Welsh Cookies for the Drane house bake sale which is Saturday.

We made a quick trip to the Shop and Save to get just a couple of things.

This afternoon did a bit of housework, worked on the puzzle and the counted cross stitch, and read.

A simple supper this evening of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Hope all is well in your part of the world.
Happy Tuesday
Thanks for stopping by

Thank you Lord, for being patient with me.

Rose - Just remembered you asked me about reading Anne Perry's Elana Standish series.  Haven't read them yet but plan too. I've read the Thomas Pitt series and the Daniel Pitt series and the Monk series. Working on the Christmas ones now.  She has a WWI series too which I will read. She is my favorite author next to Charles Dickens and Perry's writing reminds me of Dickens.

Your supper of tomato soup and grilled cheese sounds wonderful... especially on these cold evenings we have been having.

A frozen pond already! Glad you could walk outside today. Yum, grilled cheese and tomato soup...a classic.

I bet the cows were happy to see you out and about again.
Your grilled cheese and tomato soup sounds lovely. My hubby doesn't like tomato soup so it's not something we ever do, but sometimes I just make just the soup for a quick lunch for me.
I'm going to have to check out Anne Perry, never read her before.

You have a wonderful life. 😊

I have only actually read one of Anne Perry's books but really loved it...but hers are some of the best to listen to that I have found. They make washing dishes fun....LOL

It was cold here today, too...supposed to get above freezing tomorrow!

I always wonder how much the cattle and animals in general notice the cold. One time I would swear I saw birds shivering...but always then wonder was it a figment of my imagination. I don't even know if they are capable of shivering. They were on my front porch.

I meant to say that on a cold day, grilled cheese and tomato soup really hits the spot!

OOH I make a yummy tomato basil orzo soup some friday evenings and we have grilled cheese sandwiches with it. Sounds so perfect for a cold night in.
I LOVE keith Green. I was a teen during the last part of the JEsus Revolution so was all about Keith, Amy, 2nd Chapter of Acts, Phil Keaggy, the Imperials. Good memories!

So good to see you back to outdoor walking in spite of the cold, though I must admit it is your indoor walking that most inspires me. That’s commitment!

Hello,
I am glad you were able to get outdoors for your walk.
Nice view of the pond and I always enjoy see the cattle.
Take care, enjoy your day.

I would have had a hard time getting myself out the door to walk in that cold. Once you get going it does keep you warm though. That frozen pond makes me want to put on a pair of ice skates. Then again probably not a good idea since I haven't skated since I was in high school. I would probably break a hip.
