Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

First Snow

A cold rain was falling as I left for town for my walk this morning but after walking a few minutes it stopped.
Nothing for a while and then a few snow showers.
The temperature was 33 degrees.
Sunrise 7:09
Morning walk steps 10,294

Walked up and down the main road and then went to the medical building to get some blood drawn.
Thursday mornings from 7:00 - 9:00 is blood work.
Nice and convenient for me.
I waited till there were no cars in the parking lot and went in.
Was in and out in 5 minutes.
One other person came in when I was leaving.
Funny thing the medical building is on Cemetery Lane.

I left and continued my walk around both of the cemeteries, the ball park loop, and side streets around town.

A sailor must be buried here with the anchor on the gravestone.

Didn't see anyone else out around town and by the time I got back to the Jeep it had started snowing but nothing was sticking.

🌧    ☁️    🌨    🦃    🙂

It was Blankets for Babies morning at church so off I went there right after breakfast.
There were 8 of us there.
Of all things to forget to bring I forgot the blanket I just finished.
I'll just bring it to church on Sunday.
It is working out great leaving the blankets at the doctors offices and we've given away all the excess blankets that we had.
Started on the next blanket which is going to be red and white for Christmas.

From church I went to Walmart to pick up my new glasses.
These are for distance and will use them for driving.
I just couldn't get used to the bifocals so exchanged those for just readers.
It was snowing pretty hard by now but still nothing sticking.

Last stop before getting back home was the library here in town to pick up another book and a DVD.

The snow started sticking mid afternoon and since this is the first snow of the season I started one of the four new jigsaw puzzles we bought a while back.
It is called Vintage Fairytales and is a picture of a bunch of books.

We got about an inch of snow so far and it is supposed to snow through the night so will have to see what the morning brings.

Supper tonight was some left over meatloaf from yesterday.
We had sandwiches with tater tots and some left over coleslaw.

That's been my day.
Hope yours was a good one.
Thanks for stopping by,
HappyK🙂

We had snow this morning and it covered the grass, but then the rain came in and melted it all. I do love looking at old headstones. They were very intricate back then. Janice

The tombstone is over a hundred years old. Wow.

Yes, having the medical building on the Cemetery Lane is very ironic. Glad that you are doing. It's good that you got a little snow. See you again tomorrow!

I love looking at those old tombstones. That's a nice one.
We also had our first snow of the season today. I've seen several bloggers from all over - even France, that had their first snow today.
Guess what we had for supper? I thought of you, because I know you like it too. Sheet pan sausage and peppers. Yum!

It's a good thing you're not superstitious or you'd have second thoughts before going to a clinic on cemetery lane.
That jigsaw puzzle called vintage fairytales sounds delightful.

I almost emailed and ask what your puzzle...now I know. The medical building sure is convenient for you...and wonderful that you don't have to wait. Don't you wonder about the people named on headstones...I always wonder about the dash...

I'm sorry about the glasses. I hope you could get a refund on the bifocals. The tombstone is really lovely. I hope you don't walk tomorrow if it is snowing too much!

You had a very busy day. I was the same way with bifocals. I don't like them at all and prefer to just wear readers when needed.
We got a little snow last night but not much.

Love the pretty tree in the first photo. The tombstone is lovely.
We may have our first snow later this morning. I recently started a new puzzle too. Take care, Happy Friday! Have a great weekend.
