60 degrees when I arrived in town and started walking.
A little breeze and a mix of sun and clouds.
Left town this morning and walked around the Farm Loop.
Tom, the second church steeple that you spotted in the picture
the other day is this one.
Looks like these people killed their grass.
Maybe too much fertilizer!
Ken said it might be Zoysia grass.
These are Farmer Bill's barns.
Very quiet around the farm loop and didn't see anyone else.
When I got back to town walked around the ball park loop
and then back to the Jeep to complete my walk.
All the fire engines got washed and they sit here all nice
and clean ready for the parade in town tomorrow.
There are two more but didn't make it in the picture.

I baked the last of the chocolate chip cookies for Bible time this morning.
All 21 dozen are in the freezer and ready for Monday.
We made a trip to the dump and not only got rid of our garbage but
Ken has been cleaning out the garage and got rid of some stuff!!
Another nice day with sun and a breeze.
Good porch sitting weather.
That's all for today.
Happy Wednesday and thanks for stopping by.

Rose - Yes, it is the Tom Brokaw book. Next week is the book club meeting so I'll read it next week. Probably the day before. It is very short and shouldn't take long at all to read.

Hi Karen! It seems that your town has a lot of churches - a very good thing! Are you and Ken going to the 4th of July Parade? I hope you both have a nice Independence Day no matter what you do. See you again soon!
...I remember years ago when there were ads for Zoysia grass in the Sunday news paper. It was sold a wonder grass that grew vigorous and choked out weeds. Much of this was true, but they failed to tell that other than in the deep south, it would take forever to green up. It hard to tell from the picture, but I think that Ken is right. Only time will tell.
Theclibrsrybhss that book...but I have had two or three other books I have been reading since you mentioned it. I dont read near as much as i used to. Sounds like you had a pleasant walk...i want to.remember to.look at the pics on the computer later.
I especially like the tree shadow on the barn.
However you spend the day tomorrow (4th) I hope you have a good day ❇❇❇❇
21 dozen cookies! That's great and the kids will love them. What fun to have a parade on the 4th. Happy 4th to you and yours!
How beautiful is the tree with the swing!!
Your cemeteries are simple and I really like that!
Have a beautiful independence day!!
Your pictures from your town always make me think that it must be a really nice place to live.
More beautiful views and photos from your walk!
Happy 4th of July!
Take care, have a wonderful day!
Happy 4th Karen :)
That grass is in a sad state, for sure! That would be so disheartening to fertilize, only to kill everything. But it must be something more than that, because it's the entire yard. Even still, yikes! And I have to echo Ann's comment above...I basically want to live in your town :)
I find all your photos beautiful. Those fire trucks are so special. Very different from ours. They look strong.
Shall we go for a swing?"
Nice beautiful photos, I like your new route.
I love the first photo of that full tree and the swing. Happy Independence Day!
I love how you do all of the cookie baking for different functions at your church, Karen. You have such a generous heart and willing spirit. xx
Those fire trucks looked spiffy all washed up and ready to go...and hopefully they will not need to go out. Janice
