Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Happy Sunday

🎶O Beautiful For Spacious Skies🎶

1. O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

2. O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

3. O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

4. O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

📖 Psalm 33:12 📖

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;
and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

A Blessed Sunday to all.

Deb - Can't find any information that there was ever a plantation there.

Tom - You're right.  There is another church steeple in the picture.  It is the Brethren Church located along the farm loop.

GrannyM - A few people hike or bike the trails but not that many.

Amen to everything in this post! This nation needs God's help for sure. We need to make our God the Lord Jesus Christ! Have a good Sunday.

One of my favorites that brings up good memories.

I remember as a child, washing and dryer dishes after dinner and we would sing. This one we loved to bellow out so loud my dad would tell us to not sing so loud. It made an impression that when I was 9, I painted a mountain scene with mountains of purple. I named my painting Purple Mountains Majesty. And I took first place. I still have the yellowed watercolor somewhere!

I've only ever heard the first verse of that psalm.
Such a pretty bush in that picture. It reminds me of the huge snowball bushes my dad used to have in his yard.
