Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Late morning walk

We had a burst of winter yesterday.
Very WINDY, snowing and cold.
With the dreaded time change the mornings are once again
plunged into darkness.
It was 20 degrees, still windy this morning but no more snow.
Didn't want to walk in town in the dark because wouldn't be able
to see any icy spots so walked the first 5,000 steps in the basement.
At 10:30 the sun came out and the wind died down a bit
so I went to town to walk.
The temperature was 29 degrees.

Walked along the road to the cemetery

and around the cemetery.

Walked around town.

The library was open by this time so I went inside and dropped
off a couple of DVD's.
Had a little visit with Connie while I was there.

Back outside continued my walk up to the other cemetery.

It may look slippery but it was a crunchy ice.

Went down to visit the bulls.

By the time I finished walking and was back in the Jeep
the temperature had gone up to 40 degrees.
It ended up being a beautiful sunny walk.

I walked another 8,457 steps so a total of 13,457 steps for my morning walk.

☀️

I knitted two rows on the green baby blanket when I noticed a mistake.
So had to back knit the two rows, then reknit the two rows again.
I had to knit 6 rows just to knit 2.
At least it was an easy fix, if a time consuming one.

Started the weekly cleaning chores one again.

Supper tonight will be Fried Rice and shrimp.
Another of my favorites.

That's it for today.
Happy Monday and thanks for popping in for a visit.

Oh, what a wintry scene, Karen. It looks so cold. Yeah, be careful walking in the dark!

That sounds like a cold walk with the low temps and high winds. It sure is pretty with the bright blue sky though.

It was windy and cold here today too. I hate the time change... when the school buses went by this morning it was pitch black out. We don't have any street lights on our road so the kiddos are standing in the dark waiting for the bus.

Fried rice and shrimp... sounds yummy. We had Thai shrimp stir fry last week.

From looking at your pictures, I would say you had a little more snow than we did.

We had snow too, but it's supposed to warm up this week.
What a bummer about the knitting! Glad you saw it now though.

Your photos are so crisp and icy looking! I am not brave enough to even venture out in this weather.

It's disappointing to be back to darkness when we leave in the morning. Hopefully it won't be long until it's brighter again. I hope you get some sunshine and warmth to melt that snow.

You had the same weather we did. It sure looks pretty out there.
Fried rice and shrimp sound delicious.

We only had a short snow shower, it looks like winter is not ready to leave just yet. I love the photo of the cows! Take care, have a great day!

WOw you guys got some snow and up here in eastern NY we only had a dusting but the day before we had major rain..in fact it rained all weekend and our grounds are saturated. Today is milder and sunny and feels like spring! Now that my morning errands and chores are basically done I'll head over to the park for some much needed walking and sunshine.

Love your photos!

Looks like winter wanted to remind you it's alive and well. Glad you could finally get out in the fresh cold air.

I love that it stays lighter in the evening now but having the mornings dark again is a bummer.
