Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cookie Disaster

 Drane House in the Fall

When I got up, looked out the window, no rain so dressed for walking.
By the time I was ready to leave it had started to rain so just like yesterday I had to change again into my rain walking clothes.

On my way to town I saw those 5 deer again.
Started to walk at 6:40 and the sun rose at 7:29.

It didn't rain hard just a misty drizzle.

Walked all around town, both cemeteries, and the ball park.
Seemed like yesterday, no others out walking and nothing going on around town.

Took a couple of pictures on the drive back home.

This is the street I turn off the main road heading home.

I turn right onto this street and I live at the end of it.

🙂         🌧         🥾         🍁

We got a few errands done in town and then went up to Casselman's Market for our weekly food shopping.

Thursday is a Baby Blanket work day at church and it is my turn to bring breakfast.
I found a recipe for Jumbo Breakfast Cookies that sounded like a good thing to bring.
I made them this afternoon and they were a disaster and I threw the first batch in the garbage.
Tried a smaller cookie version and they were just as bad so they too got thrown in the garbage along with the rest of the batter.
They just crumbled into pieces and didn't even taste good.
I'll have to figure out something else to make and bring - maybe I'll bake a coffee cake and bring that and some fruit.

I have three knitting projects going and a weave-it blanket, so what did I do today?
I started another knitting project - a scarf this time for a woman who works at Casselman's.

Well, that's all I have for today.
Happy Tuesday and thanks so much for stopping by.

A basic rule of baking is that, in general,
it's almost impossible to make an inedible batch of brownies.

I guess that doesn't apply to cookies!!! 😄

I LOVE the pictures from your morning walk. You are having a beautiful fall - the leaves are gorgeous. Sorry about your cookie disaster but that happens to the best of cooks and bakers. Sometimes a recipe that sounds good just doesn't work our right. I agree with the quote about brownies - they are always good! See you again tomorrow!

I made this smore dump cake a few weeks ago and that when into the garbage too. So disappointing. Hopefully the coffee cake was a hit for you. Beautiful Autumn colors too! Janice

Your walk was just gorgeous! I love your pictures.
What a bummer about the cookies.

I'm sorry your cookies did not turn out. I wonder what was wrong with the recipe. I had a kitchen disaster of a different kind. A pot of jam that I wasn't watching ran over and made an awful mess of my stove. I had no one but myself to blame.

Too bad you can't bring brownies for breakfast! I love the quote. The main road that you live on is gorgeous!

You have an incredible view on the way to your house.
I am almost positive that I have proven that quote about brownies wrong at least once.

Hello,
The Autumn colors are beautiful, gorgeous trees.
I am sorry about your cookies but the coffee cake sounds good too.
Take care, have a great day!

Are the 5 deer the same? Or could they be new deer impersonating the ones you saw before?

God bless.

Such a beautiful area. Don't you just hate that, when that happens - try a new recipe and it doesn't turn out? I always think of the ingredients that went to waste. Funny, I made Brownies yesterday.
