Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking in the rain

52 degrees this morning and raining.
Sunrise once again is 7:38.
Walk steps 12,591

Even with my rain pants and slicker I was soaked when I got home.
Good thing it was warm or I'd probably have had to go home early.
Really need to get new rain pants.  I think mine are so old they lost there waterproofness.

Still it was nice to be able to walk outside.
Walked all around town, both cemeteries and the ball park.
Rainy pictures along my walk.

Wasn't surprised that I didn't see anyone else out walking.

🌧    🥾    😊

Did the usual house chores in the morning.
On this wet afternoon I sewed a few squares, knitted and read and not much else.

That's going to be it for today.
Thanks for visiting.
Happy Tuesday

Ann - Unfortunately no ice skating is allowed on the pond.

GrannyM - When I mail cards it usually takes 2 or 3 days to get there, but I figured going to Hawaii it might take a little longer.

We've had quite a lot of rain recently ... at least it's not snow (yet).

Perhaps you could get a new pair of rain pants in the January/New Year sales?

All the best Jan

Raining here, too. It was a good day for reading and decluttering and napping.

I haven't heard of Kathy Troccoli for years. I used to have one of her CD's. Good quote.
We're having a thunderstorm right now. Crazy thunder and pouring rain in January!

Do you buy gortex rain gear? I'm sure after a many washings they lose their effectiveness. Glad you could get out and walk.

can not imagine walking in rain in January. You are amazing.

Btw when we lived on the other side of town, the soil was sandy. My husband drilled a well behind our house and the water was delightful.
then we moved to a bigger home, on the north side. We live at the highest area in this city and are on rock. No more well.

Hi Karen, I love how you don't let a little rain stop you from walking! Have a good evening. See you again tomorrow!

Hello,
We did have a little rain yesterday, but we were able to get in a dry walk.

Take care, have a happy day!

I love walking in the rain :) When it's not storming, of course. It has finally dropped to 54 here this morning. Yesterday it was 80 degrees and 100% humidity!

Your day sounds relaxing :)
