This morning when I walked it was snowing, 32 degrees and on the windy side.
Sunrise 7:33 but I never saw the sun.
Walk Steps 12707
The snow was just starting to stick but the main roads were wet.
Side streets were getting to be a bit slick for walking and after walking here
I stayed on the main road.
Walked past the Dollar General to the turn around spot up at the farm which is down this way about a half mile.
Walked back through town. Sidewalks were good because of all the grit on them.
Continued walking out of town toward home about a half mile down here before turning around and walking back to town.
Lastly I walked around the lower cemetery.
The only person I saw was Phil the Wiggleman.
The snow was better than rain (didn't get wet) and it really was a nice walk.

It snowed throughout the day but didn't really amount to much.
Finished Beartown and some of you wanted to know how I liked it.
I thought it was excellent and gave it 5 stars.
Started the second book in the trilogy, Us Against You and it picked off right where the first book ended.
After hearing me talk about the book Ken is now going to read it - pretty sure he will like it too.
It's about a small town out in the middle of nowhere that doesn't have much going for it except the hockey team. Everything revolves around hockey. That being said it is not so much about hockey as the people.
Did a variety things this afternoon.
- Played a game of Scrabble with Ken
- Sewed the first strip of weave-its together for the baby blanket
- Read
- Knitted a few rows on my afghan
- Though I didn't start it yet, picked out the next puzzle to do.
We've done this one before and it is a challenge but I love the picture.
Kind of reminds me of my town.
Nothing else for today.
Thanks for visiting.
Hope your Friday has been a good one.

You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total
of this world's happiness now. How?
By giving a few words of sincere appreciation
to someone who is lonely or discouraged.
Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today,
but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.

...no sun here either. It was a beautiful day with horrible weather.
Hi Karen. Thanks for your thoughts about Beartown. I really liked A Man Called Ove, so I will be looking for Beartown. When I was packing up books, I found that I had TWO copies of My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You That She's Sorry, another Fredrik Backman book. I donated one copy and kept one to read. I really like the new puzzle you are starting. I think I will take a break from packing boxes and start a new puzzle tonight. It is bitter cold here, so I am exercising downstairs. Hope you have a good weekend.
Great puzzle! And Brrrr! You had a cold walk today!
Sounds like a really good day for you. Have a nice evening.
Our area looked very similar to yours today.
That trilogy sounds very interesting.
Pretty puzzle, but it looks pretty hard to work as well. Wow, it was cold for your walk!
The puzzle you have chosen next is perfect, and reminds me too of your pretty little town. I love your first picture. It seems you and Wiggle Man have the town pretty much to yourselves these cold winter days.
So much snow.
God bless.
Yesterday it was back and forth between rain and snow here. I think the snow won out in the end but we didn't get much.
Love that quote. So very true.
Hello,
The wind was awful yesterday, made it feel so much colder. We did not have snow yet, more rain tomorrow. I like the view of the barn through the trees and your puzzle picture. Have a great weekend.
I will have to look for Beartown. It sounds like a good book. I am glad you got your steps in outside today without too much trouble with slippery spots.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend- xo Diana
Looking forward to reading that book whenever I get my hands on it!
I've been lazy these past few months and doing online jigsaws on my phone app. Don't have to pick up the pieces when done.
Great pics today. Looks cold tho.
I call this almost snow. ๐
That is a powerful quote at the end!
Love the puzzle scene.
Our weather is similiar to yours but it's supposed to get warmer.
Today here was a mix of sun and cloud.
I like the look of that puzzle.
Good words by Dale Carnegie at the end of your post.
All the best Jan
Sounds chilly out your way. I suppose it's not unusual after all it's still January. But not for much longer. Nice puzzle you've chosen for the next week.
Hello from Idaho
Have you seen the movie Hoosiers? The book reminds me a little bit of it, only it is about the basketball team. It is based on a real team.
