Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Uniontown

A cloudy morning but a dry one for walking.
41 degrees and calm.
Sunrise 7:25
Walked 6 miles
Found a penny

As I drove into the parking lot by the pond I saw three deer.
My headlights stopped them and I took a picture.
Not a very good picture but the best I could do in the dark.

Walked through town and behind our old house in town.
Back through town and when it was light walked around
the ball park loop and finally the two cemeteries.

Lisa was the first person I saw walking.
Rebecca was next and she was running.
Then it was Shiela and she was running around the upper
cemetery as I was walking.  We were going in opposite directions
and every time we passed we got in a sentence or two.
So we had a conversation on the move.

☁️    πŸ₯Ύ    😊

Made fried bread for breakfast and soon after we were in the truck
heading to Uniontown, PA where we were most the day.
Looked around in various stores and bought some blue Christmas
lights and blue balls for the tree which we have yet to get.
Picked up another box of cards too.
Bought a couple of hoody sweat shirts for me and I got
a Christmas present for Ken and Liz.
We don't do a lot of presents so we are done with shopping.

While in Uniontown we stopped at Wendy's and had spicy chicken sandwiches.

We were surprised that there were so few people out.
It was just like any other day.

A little reading, knitting and working on the puzzle was the rest
of my day.

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Thursday

It is Christmas every time you let God love others through you...
yes, it is Christmas every time you smile at your brother
and offer him your hand.

We don't do gifting anymore. Just the festive house decor.
Your lunch sounds fantastic ...and love the deer in your headlights.

What a nice day you had! Neat that you saw those deer! We have had deer come through our yard in the past. There has been so much development in the past few years, that I fear they have been driven away.

Great quote at the end of this post and so true. My Christmas shopping is also finished, although I am waiting for a few things to come that I ordered, then I will have to mail a couple of packages. I hope you have another good day tomorrow. See you then!

I do way less gift buying than I used to. This year I believe I'll be relying on gift cards.

Thanks for the Mother Teresa quote. Very apt for these difficult times.

God bless.

It is scary seeing the deer along the road, you never know which they might run. I have cut back on gifts and cards over the years. I think we mya have a cold but sunny day today. Take care, enjoy your day and happy weekend!!

I get excited every time I see deer, even though I've seen them all my life. When they aren't trying to kill themselves in front of cars, they are beautiful to look at :)

My Christmas shopping is finished as well. I remember as a child that there were years when our tree was decorated all in blue. A great reminder from Mother Theresa that we should celebrate Christmas all year long. Have a great weekend.

The deer can be quite skittish.

Sounds like a fun day. We aren't doing many presents for Christmas this year just stockings since our family is planning a trip together in January. I've done minimal decorating this year, too. I like the photo you got of the deer in your headlights! :)
