Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Half and Half

25 degrees this morning and snowing on top of ice.
Knew there wouldn't be any good places for walking in town
so started my walk in the basement and did 3 miles.

After breakfast I went outside to walk near the house.
Ken came with me this time and we walked 3 miles so I got
my 6 miles in - half inside and half outside.

We walked up the lane and then up our neighbor Ron's driveway

That's town way down there.

Then kept going up another neighbors driveway.
(part timers and they haven't been up for a while)
Heading back down the driveway here.

Thought the ice on these trees was unusual.
Never saw anything like it before.

Walked back down the lane past our house and went up and down
 another neighbors driveway.
Nice that neighbors have nice long driveways the we
can go walking up and down!!

It snowed the whole time we walked
but it doesn't seem to be accumulating much.

We tried to shovel our driveway but it was a little snow on top
of ice and we weren't able to clear it
so Ken just threw on some grit on it.

Finished reading another Anne Perry book and I made
some weave-it squares.
I have some yarn left over from other blankets I've made
and I'm using those bits up on this current blanket.

Thanks for visiting.
Happy Saturday

Ice and snow, a dangerous combination. I'm glad you were so careful.

Such nice places to walk for a change. Kind neighbors! We had an icy, slushy wet snow event. A real mess!

We got it all as snow. Finally stopped in the morning, a good thirty six hours after it started.

It's so nice that Ken walked with you. It was COLD and icy here today, but Charly and I still took a walk. We went slow because it was very icy in parts. That Santa ornament at the end is so cute! I am reading an Anne Perry book - it is called A New York Christmas. I just started it. Have you read it? I hope you have a good Sunday!

Your pictures really capture winter in all its beauty. We'll be walking in snow for the next week or so if the forecasters have it right.

Your area is so pretty in the snow - looks like another time. So nice.

Your quote by Dale Evans reminded me of her book, Angel Unaware about her daughter with Down’s syndrome and death. Very touching.

That's a pretty awesome view from the top of that driveway. I don't mind the snow so much if there isn't much accumulation.

That's a lot of snow you have. Beautiful and cold.

God bless.

Pretty views along the driveways and looking toward the town.
We are expecting bitter cold weather this week. Take care and stay warm.
Happy Sunday, have a great week ahead.

Such a beautiful scenery. We rarely see snow here in NC, But it is finally turning cold. It’s 28 degrees this morning but this afternoon suppose to be in the 50’s. If we go anywhere, we have to layer so we can shed clothing as the day goes by. Haha.

Nice driveways to walk on. That certainly is unusual ice on those trees!
