Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

One Fine Day

37 degrees this morning, cloudy but happy to say dry!!
Sunrise 7:17
Walked 6 miles

I start my walk again walking up and down the main street
because it is dark and I walk under the street lights.
Made a stop at the library to put a book down the book drop.

Continued on up to the upper cemetery and walked around it.
Then over to the ball park.

The old rusty fence around the ball field has been taken
down and a new one will be put up.

Walked back through town again and down the side road.

Lastly I walked around the lower cemetery.
While walking there I saw Kitcat up ahead and called,
Hey Kitcat!!
He stopped, turned around, and came back to me for his
pet and scratch.  He sure knows his name.

Rebecca was out this morning.  Not walking this time but running.

Work has continued again on the sheds - one has the roof on it.

The sun came out enough for me to hang the sheets to dry
out on the line.

We went to Casslemans this week for food shopping.
I picked up a couple 5 lb bags of flour and also bread flour.
They were on sale for just a little over $2 each.
I spotted these Christmas cookie cutters and bought them.

The other day I bought a potholder for my collection at the Dollar General.

Ken and I went for a walk around Happy Trails this afternoon.
What a blessing it is to have our own personal woods to walk in.

That's Ken in the distance.

We had chili again for supper, but this time just a bowl of
it with corn bread that I made.

Reading, knitting, puzzling, and ice cream to look forward to this evening.

Thanks for stopping by.

Make your day a good one.

If I could paint I'd paint that purple/blue/ pink sky in the first picture.
I like your newest pot holder and the cookie cutters too.

Sounds like a great day all around! I do grin thinking of you and Ken taking a walk with him way in the distance.

Hi Karen. I think it is awesome that you have your very own woods to hike in. You are right, that is a blessing! Can you post a picture sometime of how you display your hot pad collection? Sounds like another nice day for you. See you again tomorrow.

Wow, that is awesome to own a lot of property to have your own forest. That would be my dream. Sounds like a good day for you.

Kitcat is so beautiful, with such a nice fluffy tail. So you have your own woods, very cool!

I love the woods in winter. There are still lots of leaves on the trees in our woods, but the wind was very strong today so more were coming down.

That is nice to have property to walk around on. Cheerful potholder. I've now shopped twice at Dollar General. We didn't make it above 24 degrees today! It's been snowing since this afternoon.

A dry day makes for much better walking.
The flowers on that pot holder remind me of some of Pioneer Woman's designs. It's pretty. Will you be making cut out cookies soon?
I would love to have woods like that to walk through.

Hi Karen- I use to own Acerage out at YOUNG N.S.W. - 7.5 Acres and it didn't have a single Tree on it - we had a Dam put in and had the property fully gated and fenced. I sold the property way back in 1993 mainly to pay-off our Home here and Car and become totally debt free. Best Wishes. KEV.

Wonderful to read. That cat is so cute. In the forest where I walk I often see a cat. A white one. But he is very shy and always on the hunt.

I really like the baking tins. And the pot holder even more fun. The words are so nice.

Don't you just love the smell of sheets dried on the line? On another note: I admire your dedication to walking... but that's cold, girl!! I guess I am just chicken!
