Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Rainy Walk

44 degrees this morning and a wet walk for me.
Rained the whole time I was out there.
Walked 5.2 miles
Sunrise 7:12

Walked up and town the main road in town and behind our old
house in town.
Went around the ball park loop a few times.

Continued walking around town up and down the side streets.
Pretty quiet around town again but I did see Lisa and we stopped
to talk a little bit.

Even with my rain slicker and rain pants I still got pretty wet.
The rain gear is good for the first 3 miles but then water
starts dripping down my face and neck which gets my shirt wet.
The wind started picking up which made me chilly.
I can't wear the layers I would like to under my rain slicker because
it is not big enough.
Really need to get a bigger one to accommodate layers.

Still glad I was able to walk outside even in the rain.
I tell you though, it was sure nice to get home to a dry warm house.

🌧    😊    🥾

David and Liz came over yesterday bearing gifts.
I had a Christmas cactus some years back but it died so I was so
pleased to receive this new one.
Also they brought us a scented candle which is alway nice to get.
Both gifts were totally unexpected so made them extra special.

The gifts were SO nice but Liz gave me another gift as well.
After we finished eating, she told me to stay sitting and she did
the dishes and we don't have a dishwasher.
Now don't you think she is wonderful.
❤️I love this girl.❤️

🙂    🙂

We had a nice lazy day this day after Thanksgiving.
No cooking today - just left overs.

Started reading another book.
Sewed another row on the baby blanket.
Just one more row to go and I'll probably start on it later this evening.
Decided to start another jigsaw puzzle.
This one we've done before.
Fun but a bit of a challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Friday

Cathy - So nice that you left a comment.  Sounds like you all had a great Thanksgiving.  Too bad we live so far away.  Would have been nice to join you all.

Hi Karen. Liz is a gem for sure. Sounds like David has sure found a wonderful woman. I love the Christmas Cactus. I have two Christmas Cactus and they are healthy and green, but one of them has bloomed only once and I can't get either of them to bloom again. If you have success, let me know your secret. A nice scented candle is always nice. So glad you had a nice Thanksgiving! I love that puzzle you are doing. See you again tomorrow!

You are amazing. If only everyone was like you! This puzzle looks so hard to do, all snowmen!

What nice surprises. Very nice of her to do the dishes. I don't have a dishwasher here either.
Love that puzzle.

As I'm reading this on Saturday morning, it's cold and rainy here, so it set the perfect scene for reading about your cold, wet walk :)

How sweet to get gifts and clean dishes! :)

And that puzzle looks tough! I'm doing one right now, but not making much progress.

Your blog header is so pretty although it makes me shiver! But I'd love to walk in the cold, crisp air. I might skip the walk if it's raining! LOL

The snowman puzzle is cute. I wish I had the patience for things like that. How long does it take for you to complete one of these?

My geranium bit the dust and I've been thinking of getting a Christmas cactus for the table in my bedroom near the window. I have limited window space to put a plant, so it has to be a small one.

I hope your Thanksgiving was a good one! Have you started Christmas decorating yet?

Have a great weekend!

Nice cactus, ours are blooming right now. The snowmen puzzle could be a challenge with all the white pieces. Have a wonderful day.

That puzzle looks like it could get complicated.

Having dishes washed for you is the greatest gift of all...I have a dishwasher but don't use it. I should have Thursday but did not think about it. LOL With just the two of us it is not worth it.
