This morning the temperature was 43 degrees when I walked.
Cloudy for walking but the sun came out later in the morning.
Walked 6 miles
Sunrise 7:18
Walked first to the post office and dropped a couple of cards
down the mail slot.
Noticed another house for sale in town.
This one across the street from the post office.
That make 6 houses for sale and a plot of land that are for sale in town.
Continued walking along the street were there are street lights
and then walked around the ball park loop a couple of times.
Made a couple of loops around both cemeteries too.
Went down to see the bulls in the barnyard.
Still just the three of them.
Here's the two that like their picture taken.
Haven't taken a picture of the Drane house for a while.
Saw a couple of deer on my way to town.
My cat friend from the cemetery was over at the pond this morning.
Saw Lisa out walking around the cemeteries.
☁️ ๐ฅพ ๐ ๐ ๐
Washed the sheets and got them hung out on the line.
Started a crock pot of chili going right after breakfast.
Ken helped cut up all the vegetables for me.
Ken and David have been digging out dirt for a car
port they are making up at the cabin.
I'm sure rocks will be involved. ๐
Ken took the tractor up there and worked this morning.
Meanwhile back at the house I organized my spices.
I had them in alphabetical order on a shelf in the pantry.
Can't remember whose blog I saw it on but she had the spices
all in a drawer and I thought what a good idea
so that's what I did.
Very easy to see and pick out exactly what is needed.
I had dish towels in the draw before so moved them down in the
draw with tablecloths and napkins.
Then I had more room in the pantry where the spices used to be
so rearranged a bit in there too.
Since I finished the latest baby blanket last night
this afternoon I knitted on the third and last scarf for the librarians.
Did some reading too.
Thanks for popping in.
Happy Wednesday๐ค

...that sure is quite a spice collection!
I have had my spices in a drawer before and it worked very well for me! Currently, we’re doing a little renovating in the kitchen, and we will have one of those narrow spice cabinets. I hope it will take care of all the herbs and spices I have. Yours look very neat and orderly!
I remember my mother having spices on a small two shelf rack on the counter.
That is a great idea for the spices if you have a drawer for it...wish I had a drawer that was right for it. I about burst out laughing when you said they were digging dirt out for a carport...and you were sure rocks were involved. I had not thought, but I bet they are, too.
If I had a narrow drawer, I'd be mighty tempted to try the spice organization. My spices are all in a deep drawer. The Drane house looks autumn perfect...like a picture perfect postcard. Does your town office have an online presence? Do they request photo submissions? You are a wonderful town photographer capturing life in your community. You're sure that rocks will be involved. ๐
I always like to see the bulls and the Drane house.
I like the spices in a drawer. If I had more drawers I would do that, but I have a lack of drawers here.
I always enjoy seeing the Drane House. Someone does a beautiful job of caring for it. I enjoy moving things around in my house, but do it cautiously for one move leads to another, then another, and ....
I really should put my spices in a drawer like that. Makes good sense to be able to see them better. I'll have to do some rearranging. A car port will be a nice addition to the cabin. You have as many projects as we do. :)
Sleep well!
I like arranging and organizing, it calms me down. How come so many houses are for sale there? Maybe they are building a new development? I know awhile ago, houses were so hard to find and being bought up as soon as available. This house is lovely, and looks like the original and very historic.
That's a great idea with the spices I wish I had a drawer that I could do that with.
Is the cabin yours that they are putting the car port in?
I plant herbs in the garden in alphabetical order. I was asked where do I find the time. I said: It's there next to the sage.
God bless.
Hello,
Love the pond and bull photos. Your spice drawer does look neat and easy to use. Take care, enjoy your day!
I have no drawer capacity for spices
I think the lavender color in the sky and water is so pretty in your first photo. Line dried sheets and chili in the crock pot sound like two nice things to look forward to later in the day.
You may have seen the spice drawer idea on my blog as that is what my last post was about. I moved them into the drawer right next to my stove when I moved here four years ago. It was one of the best things I did as it is so convenient while cooking and baking. It definitely helps that I have a wide and not too deep drawer located there.
That's nice that you are making scarfs for the librarians, I bet they will appreciate them.
You certainly have a lot of different spices!
Now that outside work is becoming less I find myself doing some tidying and organizing that I let slide over the summer. Fortunately I really enjoy doing that.
Great spice bottle idea!!!
