Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A perfect strawberry

Another good day for a walk.
It was 53 degrees and there was some fog around driving to town.

It wasn't long though before the sun was shining.

Walked around both cemeteries and the ball park and down through town.

Right at the top of the upper cemetery I cross over a farm road.
Turning right on that road leads down to the Drane house and the bulls.
Looking left down the road I've been watching a dirt pile get
bigger and bigger which turned into a mountain of dirt.
Curious to see what was going on I walked down that way.

Was I surprised to see the start of a HUGE building.
It is on Farmer Marvin's land and pretty sure it is going to be a barn.
(I'll have to ask him next time he stops)
This will be something else for me to watch the progress on.

John was out again walking his dog and Rebecca was out walking her dog too.

Work continues at the bank.
A concrete truck was there again.

Then there are these trusses that are still sitting here.
They have turned color and before long they won't be any good.
Hard to believe someone would pay for these (not cheap) and just let
them sit there to rot.

A truck load of logs.
It is in front of the twin houses.
As you can see the house has not sold yet - sign still up.

After crossing this road I made my way back to the Jeep.
Walked 4.8 miles

Baby Blanket day so headed to church after breakfast.
Ken had some work to do at church too so I rode with him in the truck.

There were 10 of us working this time.
I gave the little devotional today about walking.
(Thinking about using it for my Sunday blog post.)
Always enjoyable time talking, laughing, and working.

I've been walking in my Keen high top hiking shoes which gives me more
ankle support.  I like the high tops better and they are the only pair
I have, so Ken ordered me THREE more pair so I'm all set for a while.
They came in the mail today.

I have 3 pair of the regular Keen walking shoes too.
All of them are on a shelf on top of my closet.
It is like a shoe store in there now.
Like to have a lot of them though because I'm afraid they will
discontinue the shoe and I LOVE them.

A couple more strawberries have ripened today and I took
a picture of this one that is perfect.
I ate it and it was just as delicious as it looks.

We usually make pizza for supper on Friday but we both felt like
having it a day early so we did.

After eating I went for a little walk up the lane.
Asked Ken if he wanted to go with me but he declined.
The driveway off to the right is where David and Liz's cabin is.

That's all for today.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
A happy day to you.๐Ÿ™‚

You are doing good with the walking! I have Keen shoes and I really like them.
It's crazy those trusses are just lying there. That's a lot of money!
That is a pretty berry.

I'm glad you got more of the hiking boots you like. I'm the same way...I only wear Montrails and I have one new pair but should really order some more. Did you say something about a strawberry sandwich the other day? What do you put in the sandwich? Hugs!

If anyone I know can wear out a pair of boots it would be you, LOL. Not many people put in the miles that you put in. Have you ever added up your miles for a year?

I love those Keen shoes too and am still wearing the ones you sent me. I save them for hiking trails. I should order a pair of the high top hiking boots. That is a beautiful strawberry. We have had some delicious strawberries in our garden this year too. So glad that you are able to walk a little more every day. I will look forward to your Sunday post with your devotional about walking. See you again soon!

I will look forward to posts about the barn or whatever Farmer Marvin is building.

I hate to think what those trusses cost now. I know electric and concrete had gone sky high before the pandemic so now I cannot imagine.

You have so many pretty little lanes to walk along. I like the graveled one in the picture, but gravel's not the best for walking on. I posted about my Keen's today too. I hadn't thought that those shoes might be discontinued; maybe I need to order more too.

This IS a perfect strawberry! I am surprised that the house has not sold yet, as houses are in such short supply and everyone wants to buy. Yes, as soon as I find a product that I really love, they either stop selling it or change it for the worse!

You have a good supply of walking shoes for the years to come.
That strawberry does indeed look perfect. Nice that it also tasted good.

Your supply of shoes should keep you walking comfortably for a while. That's a good idea to keep extras. That always happens to me, if I really like something it gets discontinued.
That strawberry is perfect. I bet it was delicious.

Well done with the strawberry. We had 12 this year. Not as many as last year.

God bless.

Good shoes/boots for walking (and getting extra pairs) is a good idea. Ankle support is important along with arch support for the back alignment for me.

Pretty scenes and lovely ๐Ÿ“

Always something going on in your town! Those walking boots are a blessing for you for sure. Ahhh...that perfect strawberry ๐Ÿ“ I have yet to have a strawberry or a watermelon ๐Ÿ‰ this summer. I'd better get cracking. I did finally have an ear of corn ๐ŸŒฝ. So good...

Memories of cleaning strawberries have kept me from buying them, but I do pick it up as strawberry jam from the local farmer's market.

I should have bought several more pair of my favourite shoes, because now it seems they are not available any more.

Do your rotate walking shoes. I don’t walk nearly as far as you but I still rotate my shoes. I usually keep 5 to 7 pair. Discarding older as I add new. I’m weird, I guess.
