Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Rainy

Walked in the rain this morning and it was 48 degrees.
Since it wasn't that warm out I wore my rain pants and slicker
and didn't get too hot.
Sometimes when it is warm it is just better to get wet!

Walked straight through town

and down to the Dollar General.
Walked back and forth on the road between the main road and
the industrial park.
Then walked around the industrial park.

When I got back to the Jeep still had a bit more to walk so
went up this way to the cemetery and walked around there.

The corn here now is about 5 or 6 inches tall.

Saw Rebecca out walking.
She doesn't let a little rain stop her from walking either.

Not much happening in town on this early rainy Saturday morning
but still I was happy to be out walking.

Walked 6 miles
Found a Penny

In case you forgot what the area looked like before we
turned it into the RockScape here's the before picture.
I weeded the whole thing and Ken helped me with
the gathering of the rocks.

After breakfast went to the Dollar General to do some shopping.
Some things are much cheaper there than at the Shop and Save.
Another stop at the library to pick up more books,
for Ken this time.

Kind of a lazy afternoon.
It stayed cool and though the rain stopped it stayed cloudy.
I read and knitted.

That's about it for today.
Thanks for popping in for a visit.
Happy Saturday. πŸ€—

GrannyM - No, don't see many birds in the bird bath but we see many birds out back.

...I've seem corn up here too. We had a lovely day until the end of day when a thunderstorm rolled through. My garden enjoyed it.

I think your rockscape is a huge improvement...of course, I love rocks so they improve almost anything.

Good for you for walking in the rain. Do you wear a pedometer to track how much you've walked and know when to turn back. or do you just know mileage from doing it for so long?

Very rare for bad weather to stop you. I spent time outside in the rain this week...not anywhere as long as you, but I found it pleasant and refreshing.

Your hard work on that rock garden has yielded a beautiful spot! We had lovely weather here today. That corn looks good. Today is National Corn on the Cob Day, though it’s too early for fresh, local corn here. Our season for that is probably a month or longer away.

I like the rocks! I’m crossing my fingers we get some rain tomorrow. We’re having a not-so-normal June. I’m enjoying it.

Rain can be welcome for the crops.

God bless.

That was a rather chilly start to the day at 48.
That rock garden sure did make a big difference.

Hello,
We could use the rain, the plants will be happy. Your rock garden is a beautiful addition to your yard. I have to check our local Dollar General store. Take care, have a great day and happy new week!

The Corn is growing really well there this Summer Karen. We are in Winter now- things have slowed down with the cold days and nights- it is all about having the Heater on now! Best Wishes. KEV.

Before pics are such a Joy!

They really show, how much one has done, and how much more beautiful, an area looks, after.

That was a good idea for that space and great job weeding and adding rock. If it's warm I tend to get steamy if I wear a raincoat. :) Glad you had a good walk.
